It was 4pm and Leah's classes had just ended. She put all her things in her backpack, and stood up getting ready to leave. "Hey are you in a hurry?"David asked as he stood next to Leah.

"No, not really. Why do you ask?"She asked.

"Would you like to.try that restaurant that just opened?"He asked.

"You mean that one right across the street?"She asked and he nodded his head in response. "This is not you trying to trick me into going on a date with you, are you?"She asked.

"Well if I don't want to live anymore then yes. But since I love my life so much then no. I would never risk doing that, I just want you to try it out. I heard that their desserts taste great, you might as well get some for your husband."He said. Leah wanted to laugh but she stopped herself. Alexander did not even want to be in the same room with her so it would be a miracle if he were to eat something that was bought by her.

"Alright then let's go."She said and they both walked out of the classroom side by side.

—-------------

"Wow this tira-whatever tastes great."She said.

"It's a tiramisu Leah. If you like it then why don't you grab some for your husband?"He asked.

"Well…That's a great idea, I'll make sure to do that."She said, She was not too sure about that. Alexander was probably going to throw the dessert away.

"So, what is it like in his mansion? I heard that nobody except his family members are allowed to enter."David said.

"It's just like any other normal house. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary except the vase that he put on the hallway, and his butler told me that it costs three million."She said.

"Wow. What a way to waste money. Your dad doesn't have a vase that expensive, does he?"He asked.

"I highly doubt it. He only spent his money on important things unlike my stepmother who buys anything that looks expensive enough to show off to her friends and family."She said.

"You really do hate your stepmother don't you?"He asked, drinking his wine.

"I don't see myself liking her. She's never going to replace my mom." She said.

"Yeah, I even felt the same way when my dad got married after my mom died but now I just don't care anymore because I just realised that there is nothing that I can do to change it. That's why I refused to go to a university that was near home. I just wanted to be away from them, especially her."He said.

"What about your sister? I haven't heard from her in months."She said, Leah was not just close to David, she was close to his sister Emily too. They were the only ones that understood her and the only ones that she could go to whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on.

"She's moved in with her boyfriend."He said.

"You mean big C?"She asked and David nodded in response. "I thought that she didn't like him anymore because he was a narcissist and self absorbed man." She said.

"He is, but she had no choice. That was her only ticket out of that house. My stepmother treated her like she was a maid and dad did nothing about it, so her only way out of that situation was leaving. She didn't have a job and her allowance was cut so her only option was to move in with her boyfriend."He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Wow, that's… I just hope that she'll be fine. Is there any way I could help her?"She asked.

"Well she really needs a job, if you can help her with that then that would be great."He said.

"I'll see what I can do…Anyway about you, are you still dating with Lisa?"She asked.

"Can we not talk about her? Wait is that your husband?"He said pointing at the entrance. Leah turned around and she saw Alexander walking in. He looked around the restaurant until his eyes landed on her and he didn't look too happy. He walked towards them.

"Hubby, what are you doing here?"Leah asked with a very bright smile on her face, maybe too bright.

"The driver couldn't find you, so I came here looking for you."He said.

"Oops, sorry I didn't tell him that I was here."She said.

"OH, this is my best friend David and David this is my husband Alexander."She said not wanting things to be awkward.

"Nice to meet you."David said, standing up from his seat. He extended his hand out for Alexander to shake. He looked at David's hand then his face and he looked at his hand again. Je shook his head.

"Let's go."He said and then he walked out of the restaurant and into his car.

"Sorry, maybe he is in a bad mood, I guess I'll see you later."Leah hugged David and then she walked out of the restaurant and into Alexander's car. She got in and she closed the door. "What was that about?"She asked.

"What was what?"He asked, not looking at her.

"Why did you have to act like that? Was it so hard for you to shake his hand?"She asked.

"Why should I?"He asked.

"Because he's my friend."She said.

"He's your friend not my friend. Anything that's yours has got nothing to do with me, got it?"He said harshly.

"No wonder you don't have any friends."She said.

"Excuse me?" He asked. Leah could see it in his eyes that she had struck a nerve, and maybe that was exactly what she needed to do to get his attention.

"You heard me. You keep acting like this world is yours, when it's not."She said.

"You see, that's your problem. You people think that you know me when you don't. We have only been married for two days and you are already acting like you know me when you don't. You know nothing about me, nobody does."He said. Leah felt like his words meant something, she felt a hint of sadness and loneliness.

"Maybe if you were a better person you wouldn't be here today."She said, as soon as they arrived at the mansion Alexander got out of the car quickly slamming the door. Leah knew that her words did not make their relationship better, well it's not like they had a relationship to begin with.
