Moving in

Hakeem

"You gotta start living, surviving from day to day isn't enough…"

"Thinking about it now, you actually sound super smart for someone who looks like you and is just two years ahead of me ," I said innocently in the passenger seat while she drove. She sent me a glare before focusing on the road again. She really knew how to place words and set them ablaze for motivation while on the other hand, she was just like everyone else, sometimes only really really annoying. She knew personal space but she didn't appreciate it. She believed she needed to be up close with everything to make you believe she cared and she did care. Like right now, she was driving me with my boxes to the house and it was just like those scenes where parents go to drop off their kids for the first time in college just like she did for me eight years ago.

"Age is wisdom, so yes dear, those two years matters a lot" she said and I had to give her the what the fuck look because who the fuck thought that way. She could have just fucking appreciated the fact that she was called wise and no t spew at fale facts like that.

"That's totally illogical I think, because how are you gonna assume that you are smarter just because you are older, what if you were raised in captivity. If you asked me which I suggest you always should, you should know that experience is wisdom and not years. bitch could be 50 and still act dumb as shit because he or she or they have zero fucking experience with life," I schooled her and she looked at me weirdly.

"What?!!" I asked her and she shook her head.

"Nothing…" She muttered looking forward.

"What now?? you refuse to believe that I can be super smart huh??" I saix teasing her puting my index finger into the hollow section of her cheekbone that highlighted her face.

"I just refused to believe you are that smart and I would actually be missing you because of stupid things you do like try to take a fish on a walk." She said laughing at the memory when I decided to first get a goldfish as a pet. I remember checking the internet for things to do to keep your pet happy and I came across the statistics of taking them for a walk and after seeing how incredibly high it was I decided I was going to try and see for myself so that I could do What I needed to do. I wanted to start taking responsibility and what was more responsible than taking care or being in charge of another living creature. Long story short, I did take the fish on a walk holding the blue tinted see through jar so that the fish could avoid some direct sun rays and focus on getting to the point of being perfectly able to see the world.

Of course I got weird stares, that was something I didn't mind because it was fun holding a fish in his containers. He died later in the evening but it was fun while it lasted and I decided it was a good sign to not do any of those little things and dogs tried to move away from taking Care of little creatures till I could perfectly take care of myself.

"Well I am. I know you are just in denial so sit and hold tight, there so much more to come," I winked at her and she cringed..physically!

"Don't ever do that please, was that supposed to be sexy or something??" She asked and I laughed.

"Hey Isis," I said to her in a serious voice. I looked ahead looking at the rise of the building coming closer and I knew she should soon have to go back to attend to her wife.

"I just want to say thank you…you know, for all of this. The support and encouragement, everything. I'm so grateful to you honestly because I don't even know where i would be if you haven't been there for me, letting me into your home so I could steal meals from time to time, I honestly am thankful for your help, you got me this far like you promised," I thanked her genuinely for everything. Just before she encouraged me to move to this city with her, she convinced me it was filled with opportunities and I was going to love the place. She always pushed me to come here so I could make something for myself and here I was, joining one of the world's most popular bands in the city and now living with them. I really underestimated the whole thing until I saw a billboard ad hinting at the fifth member of the band with a silhouette and a question mark face reveal.

I studied the silhouette realizing that it was me. It was the hair from the time I was in the sound room. The posture gave it away.

"It's okay Baby bro. Remember I told you I got your back till you got your reins on life and even after you do, I still promised you that I got your back and I meant every single word i said,'' She said patting his back before coming down of the and the she pressed the truck slide so that all the suitcase Item would drop to the floor themselves.

On cue, two young men came out of the house taking my suitcase after offering a little greeting and leaving with them. After everything had been dropped off, Isis gave me a surprise hug which In turn surprised her by returning huge. It wasn't a bag deal for her, it was a big deal for me. I was never one to open up to anything or anyone but now things were changing, becoming different and so was I, I couldn't imagine being at the same time open. It was sio foreign to me but I'm willing.

"Hey…" Darla finally came out looking smart as usual which makes me wonder if she isn't really relaxed or something. She was always in an official attire and it was just the morning.

"Hey, good morning." Isis replied giving her a hug which had me wondering when they became besties or it was just a girl thing.

"Hey Hakeem, how are you Feeling??" She asked as I held onto the last suitcase left on the ground for me to carry all the way upstairs.

"I'm good, why do you look so official this morning?? Are you expecting a media interview or something??" I asked, looking at her formal wear.

"As a matter of fact, Yes. Did you see the billboard ad hinting at our new member??" She beamed feeling hyper. Her palazzo office pants and crisp white blouse. It caught all the right angles of light. I got the feeling this was a very good publicity stunt for them.

"Yeah, I wonder who that person is, I heard he is hot as fuck," I said in a coy voice and she chuckled.

"Let's get you inside," She said before waving at Isis who left in her car. I looked up to find Anderson staring directly at me from the glass wall. He waved subtly but Ignored it and didn't care about his reaction. I took it upon myself to take my load up the stairs and carefully follow the guys with my other suitcases and cartons of personal stuff that I took from place to place.

And no, it wasn't trophies or anything. Just Weapons that I got for protection and an important portion that sealed my identity and made werewolves perceive me as human and so far It works perfectly well.

"Hakeem.." He called out, my mood immediately went down the drain knowing who exactly that voice belonged to. I would have reacted differently some days ago but right now, the irritation in me is bothering me and I didn't exactly need this, something like this. A confrontation, I thought he was smart enough to notice my not so subtle ignorance of his very existence.

"Well, are you going to turn around and look at me or are you going to keep backing me like I'm some messed up sight to behold??" He asked exasperated. That tone again.. That same tone he used mixed with frustration ignited my reply.

"Actually, I'm just gonna go bro, good day." I said taking the left hall up to the side stairs and I could hear him breathe out frustration. I started my journey up the next stairs to a darker appearing hallway while listening to the footsteps that came up the first stairs.

"What did he say? Did you talk to him??" I heard Darla ask and I paused to listen properly to the conversation. There was a slight pause before he replied.

"He wouldn't even look at me, he can't stand me. I don't think he can ever talk to me again, I hope he likes his room…"

I heard him say before reaching the end of the stairs and getting to the door, the door was wide with two doors and the same thing was on the other side.

I had my name written on it in bold italic letters, I saw the key card hanging by the door. Taking it and opening the doors, my jaw dropped. I looked around and realized such a level of detail could have been done in a day. The whole room, especially the living room, was a copy of mine at home except for the colors. The lights were the same, a gradient between purple and blue.

What the hell was he aiming at? It was obviously his doing because no one else from the band has been to my apartment so it was obviously him. He remembered almost every detail of the major areas that it almost made it scary, I didn't know how to react to be honest, it was like I liked it but hated it because it was too much, it wasn't how i would have chosen to do it…okay, maybe it's exactly how i would have chosen to do it, I just hated it that he did it.

"How do you like it?"...
