Family Bonding 07

After a few more minutes, Claire stood up followed by Uoron. She dusted her clothes and stared at Uoron and said.

However, before she could say what she wanted to say, they suddenly heard a low and ferocious growl a few meters away from them. Both snapped at attention staring alertly and with a bit of fear at the animal that was slowly walking towards them.

A grayish ferocious looking skinny wolf was looking at them with its teeth bare as some of its saliva dripped on the ground. Both knew the danger the forest pose.

"The skinny wolf could have been attracted by the smell of blood from our wounds." Claire whispered

"Despite being frail and looking weak, a hungry and desperate animal looking for food is still stronger than the two of us." Uoron whispered in return

Uoron shielded the frightened Claire at his back as she clench the back of his shirt. As he was observing the wolf, he was also looking for a suitable weapon to defend them with.

"Good thing his alone… if not we would have been in a more dangerous situation." He thought.

On another hand, when they finally noticed the children were gone the guards had reported it to Vlad and Maya.

However instead of ordering them to bring them back immediately, the couple decided to let them at least stay for the night to make Uoron realize the consequences of his actions.

It was also to let him know that he had nowhere to run even if he did make it out as he would immediately be captured again.

But just a few hours after of this "punishment", a patrol guard in duty reported that the young miss and young master had returned.

"A guard stationed at the entrance gate below the villa escorted them inside." The guard reported.

"Hmp! See?! He couldn't even survive out there on his own for a few hours. This will teach him not to oppose us." Vlad said arrogantly and feeling pleased for his earlier decision.

"Don't you think we were too harsh on them dear?" Maya asked slightly worried for Claire's sake.

"Not at all, this way he would stop being so rebellious."

Vlad was not that worried about their safety as he knew both had basic training in self-defense and survival skills. However, Vlad failed to realize that the basic training they did was not enough to ensure their safety as the possibility of severe wounds leading to death could still occur.

"Sir, the young miss and young master were injured upon their return." The guard interrupted their conversation.

"Let the maid bring the first aid kit and help them to clean their wounds. Anything else?" Vlad said dismissingly, he was irritated at the sudden interruption of their "honeymoon".

Maya on the other hand had thought of the possibility of them being severely injured but seeing Vlad's confidence in them as well as hearing the report of the guard of them returning albeit a little wounded made her worries disappear which made her exhale in relief.

"Nothing more sir..."

"Alright, you may leave."

The guard made a slight bow and left. But before he could be at least a few meters away from them, he could hear the moans and groans of the people inside the room making him blush slightly. He hurriedly made his way to carry his orders.
