FRIENDS

"Hey, good news. The doctor says you can go home now" said Damian. It had been 6 days and she was finally getting discharged. They handled everything themselves without informing her parents or Sophie. She didn't want them to get worried.

"So, what do you wanna do now?" he asked

"Go back to Darchenland"

"Already?"

She nodded

"I'm fine now and the only reason I came back here was the baby. I have no reason to stay anymore. It's time I faced my parents, I have a lot of explaining to do"

"I understand"

"Thank you Damian"

He smiled,

"For?" he asked

"For taking care of me. For coming over and making efforts to support I and the child"

"It was the right thing to do"

"Remember how I said I didn't wanna get married or have kids?" she asked, he nodded.

"For now, I still want it that way"

"You sure?"

"I am. I also don't want this, all of the recent happenings to affect us"

"It won't be easy"

"You know, I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant, I was so confused. But, I decided I would do my best for the child even though I wasn't ready. I feel terrible that I lost my child but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel even a little bit of relief. I returned to Darchenland to focus on my job and be with my family, that's all I really want right now. I mean, I'm just 23, that's quite young if you ask me. For now, I'll stay single. Maybe three or four years from now, I'll change my mind but, not right now. Thank you so much for everything, you would've made a great dad"

"And you would've made a great mom"

They both smiled.

"Friends?" she asked

With a warm smile on both their faces, they shared a warm hug.

"I'm going straight to the airport right now, you? Are you coming?"

"Nah, not yet. I think I need to take a break for a while"

"Great. My house is all yours then, stay as long as you want"

"Have a safe trip"

"I hope you enjoy your vacation"
