"So, how was your date with the princess?" Jane asked him the moment he entered his room.
"It wasn't a date, we paid her sister who just delivered a visit at the hospital. Is everything alright? You look pale"
"Me? I'm surprised you noticed that"
"What's the matter?"
"Oh nothing, its just that I have a boyfriend who doesn't care about me. Who can stay days without seeing or texting me"
"That's never been a problem for us, you know how busy I am some days"
"Of course you're busy, but not busy enough to skip visiting the charming princess Diamond"
"Jane, you need to calm down, you're shouting"
"Why shouldn't I? Why!"
He stared at her for a while then hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry OK? I really am" he apologized
"You've apologized to me over 5 times this week, you know that?"
He took a deep breath
"Listen, there's nothing between I and Princess Diamond. She's just business, a stunt to make this palace stronger"
"You really mean that?"
The door opened and they both turned.
"Mom"
"Good day your majesty" Jane greeted.
"Jane dear, would you please step outside for a bit, I need to speak with my son"
"Alright" she said and left.
"What's the..." he was interrupted with a slap across his left cheek.
"Diamond is a stunt to make this palace stronger, seriously? No one said you must date Diamond or anything like that so why would you even say that!"
"I..."
"Do not say a word to me. I am so disappointed in you Damian, so disappointed" she said in a voice like a whisper.
"Stay away from her if that's all she is to you, don't even as much as say a word of her or to her. Are we clear?"
"Mom its not..."
"Are we clear!" without waiting for an answer, she left the room. She was very furious.
Jane who saw her leaving and sensed her anger, hurried back inside.
"What's the matter?" she asked,
"Is everything OK?"
"Yes. I need to get some rest, let's talk when I wake up"
"Was it about Diamond?"
"Not now Jane"
"You always avoid my questions when its about her, you..."
"I said not now!" he cut-in furiously
"Diamond this Diamond that, just shut up already"
She stared at him wide-eyed.
"Damian, you're yelling at me" she muttered.
He ran his hands through his hair and took a long deep breath.
"I'm sorry, but this is a very bad time to talk. I'll be in the shower"
