FLORENCE'S POINT OF VIEW
"But because that is the only way I can think of for my parents to appreciate me."
I was stunned for a moment. I stared at Arhes, bewildered.
"What do you mean? I'm pretty sure your parents are proud of you," I tried consoling him.
He laughed, but his smile didn't even reach his eyes. "You don't know what you are saying."
He stood up and turn his back though he still did not even finish his snacks. "Forget what I said. I need to get back to class now."
I stared at his retreating figure. What is this kid's story? Why do I feel like there is huge reason behind his rude and uncaring demeanor?
When lunch came, I took care of Arhes as well. However, I didn't bother him that time because I felt like he was not really in the mood. He did not even say something aside from "I'm done" when he finished his meal.
Thirty minutes before their class ended, Uncle Hector arrived.
"How's your day, Florence? I hope Arhes didn't give you a hard time."
