Aftermath

Yeah, that's it. I have to kill this psycho. 

Yichen quickly opened the system and took the Dagger of Cosmic Wolfbane Claw from his inventory. As he held the dagger in his hand, he once again solidified his thoughts and understanding of his situation.

He is not human but a monster, so it won't be a problem for him to be disposed of. 

Yichen held his dagger in front of his heart, trying to block the attack from the man ahead of him. He felt a strong force repel from his dagger and took a step back trying to hold his footing. As he looked forward at the man, he saw that his glare was cast on his sword, a black obsidian blade with the Constellation Lupus embedded in it.

Yichen looked back at the man to see him take a step backward. He noticed that the man was being cautious, more cautious than before. Seeing this, he deduced the reason stemmed from the appearance of a dagger in his hand. Yichen scuffed and sprinted toward the man, trying to get accustomed to the blade he wielded. 

As Yichen swung the dagger, he was blocked by the knife in the man's hand. After a few more attempts he began to get worn out. He paused with sweat dripping on the snow and saw that the man noticed his sudden pause and started to speak:

"Hah, this is quite awkward. You don't seem like you are 12 at all. I wonder, did you regress?"

Hearing the sentence the man said Yichen felt anxious that his secret was revealed to a stranger and so easily at that. He was shaken up and it showed on his face enough so that he did not need to answer the question. 

"You did, didn't you? And here I thought it was merely a coincidence that my plans would go wrong like this. I would ask for your name but I already know it. Right, Yichen?"

"Who are you?! How do you know my name?!"

"You're Ailing's brother. And the reason I know your sister is because I plan to marry Ailing."

"Huh? I thought you were gay, and my sister?! No! I don't accept that."

"Well I don't love her for one thing and I want your mother. I want her to be my mother, she was so kind to me and helped me out in the orphanage I went to after I killed my parents. I want her."

"You're insane, marrying my sister for my mother and the reason for that is that she was nice to you, what kind of psychopath would do that?"

"Oh, I forgot to answer your question on who I was. I should at least give you the name of the guy who will kill you. I wish I could find out how you regressed but I shouldn't waste my time on senseless chatter."

"I don't use my original name so you can call me Number Four."

"You are psychotic."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

As Number Four replied, he ran toward Yichen once more. A loud clunk could be heard when he was near Yichen's heart. Yichen blocked the knife in his hand within seconds, startling Number Four with the fast movement of the blade. Even though he was shaken up by it, he went in for the kill once again. He could feel himself losing momentum.

Yichen stopped the knife again, but this time he attacked instead of defending. As the knife that Number Four held fell to the ground, blood splattered toward Yichen. Without realizing it, he had sliced off Number Four's hand. 

Number Four looked down, grabbed the knife from his hand on the ground, and sprinted toward Yichen. Once more his face began to contort in agony, and the other hand could be seen on the ground. When his hand was lopped off he looked down with a horrified expression and stumbled to the ground. 

Yichen looked at Number Four with an expression of pity on his face and leisurely walked toward him. With a cold gaze, he stopped in front of him and pointed his dagger at Number Four's heart, waiting for his final words. 

"We aren't much different."

Yichen disgustedly replied, "Don't group me with trash like you."

Yichen thrust his dagger at Number Four's heart, tearing the coat and piercing his skin. As Yichen stabbed Number Four's heart, the blood splattered on his face. As he glared at the body that was bleeding out, he saw a smirk and a voice.

" €£^#$£$£_££{)."

As Yichen heard him he was taken aback. He was incapable of understanding what he said and it was as if it was glitched or censored. As he saw the snow getting stained by blood he grabbed the body and shook him while trying to get an answer.

"What did you say? Answer me! System, why is what he said censored?!"

[Ignore it, I can't tell you anything.]

Unable to get an answer he lets go of the body and tries to stand up. As he stood up he stumbled and fell again. On the snow, he watched the scene in front of him. With a sigh, he threw his knife aside and heard the system. 

[Congratulations you have finished the quest.]

Yichen looked at the sky and called out to the system trying to get an answer but it was to no avail, the system wouldn't answer his questions or anything related to the matter. He let out a deep sigh before calling out to it, he planning to check the things he got from the quest.

As he saw his stats he opened his inventory to check the rewards; The Cloak of the Cosmos, The Dagger of Cosmic Wolfbane Claw. Curious about the cloak he called out to the system. 

"What's with the cloak?"

[Think of it as an extra gift since I was not much help during all that mess ( ´▽｀).]

"Hm, Ok then. Thank you."

"Aside from that, It should be fine to finish my other quest for my memories at this time right?"

[Yeah, I almost forgot about that. Hurry up! ☆〜（ゝ.∂）.]

He opened the quest from that morning and clicked on the option 'Adult' to regain his memories. That moment, flashes of his former memories flooded his mind. With the aftermath of constant flashbacks, his head started to ache. Trying to calm his mind he tried to meditate and closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he started to imagine the Library of Consciousness and opened his eyes to see a library covered in books. Walking over to a shelf he thought to himself about the sudden appearance of books he had not placed. 

Are my memories automatically added to the library? This is way more useful than I had originally thought.

Yichen grabbed a book opened it to a random page and started to read in his mind.

As Yichen was drinking he thought to himself while looking at Zhongshu.

You are handsome, why aren't you married yet? Get a girlfriend and drink with her. I mean I would marry you if it were me.

As his mind was in disarray he unknowingly said the last sentence out loud to his best friend. 

Yichen slammed the book closed from embarrassment and saw the system's messages.

[Wow, embarrassing. You said that when you were drunk? (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵).]

"Shut up."

"Enough with this I gotta clean up the corpse and get home."

[You can use the map to get home. I also added a fuse function where you can use the cloak you got and the ring to make the Shapeshifting Star Trench Coat. You are too short to drive the van, your legs won't even reach the brakes.╮ (￣ 3￣) ╭]

So I will use the van Number Four used to kidnap me. I should be able to find the keys in the pocket of Number Four's coat. This isn't a half-bad plan.

Yichen walked toward the middle of the library where the bright light and stars were shown. Reaching out his hand, he grazed the surface of the light and saw it shift and take the shape of Earth. Finding the search bar he put in his address and saw the figure start to zoom in. 

"Hey system, are you able to make this map usable out of this library?"

[Of course, I can, I'll add that function now if you want.]

"That would be a great help, thanks."

Now onto the height issue.

He opened the system menu and selected the three dots at the top right to check the new system functions. Finding two new symbols that resemble a hammer and a map, he clicked the hammer and saw two boxes where he was able to add items in his inventory to make a new item.

Yichen added the Ring of Fragments of Distant Stars and the Cloak of the Cosmos to the two boxes and saw a bright light before him as if they were merging. The next moment he saw that a new item was in his inventory. 

Does this trench coat change my body structure? Isn't this way too powerful?

After getting prepared for his departure he closed his eyes and imagined a door to exit his library. Opening his eyes he turned around and saw the white door that would lead him out of there and walked over.

He opened his eyes to see the snow and the corpse in front of him. Feeling disgusted by the blood-covered body he looked aside trying to find the van. Finding the white van he also remembered that he needed to clean the mess that was in front of him. Standing up and shaking the snow off his pants then he called out to the system.

"How do we clean this up?"

[No worries, I got it, although you should get the car keys before I get started with cleaning.]

"OK then."

Walking over the corpse he reached out and touched the coat that was stained by blood. Feeling the cold blood he retracted his hand. He sighed with his shaking hand and reached out once more. Reaching into the pocket he found the keys and took his hand out as fast as he could. 

"Ok there you go, I got the keys."

[Bet, I got this, no worries.☆〜（ゝ.∂）.]

As he saw that message he saw a sparkling light in front of him. The blood started to float up toward the sky and it looked as though each atom was breaking into tiny pieces. As each piece was falling it seemed to resemble dust, as it flew away with the wind. Seeing this scene Yichen was disturbed by how the system had cleaned up the mess and corpse. 

"What did you do?"

[Got rid of the evidence.╮ (￣ 3￣) ╭.]

"By forcefully cremating his remains?"

After sighing he began to think to himself about Number Four. He wondered if he had people whom he cared about or anyone who cared for him. Trying to shake away the thoughts he began to open his inventory. Seeing the Trench the Shapeshifting Star Trench Coat he took it out and put it on. As he thought, he realized he did not know how to use the coat to morph his appearance. 

"How do I use this?"

[Just think of what you want to look like.]

Closing his eyes he thought of the body of his 21-year-old self. Feeling slightly uncomfortable he opened his eyes to see that the world seemed smaller than before. Everything looked different and he had a higher view than before. Checking the outfit he saw the outer layer of the coat was white and the inner was black and visible dots that shone. Looking at the coat he felt familiarity with it. 

Yichen started to think about everything that had happened that day. He began to realize how powerful the system was, it has the power to do unimaginable things that can't be explained. Letting his curiosity fill his mind he spoke out loud asking the system...

"Who are you?"
