Collection of My Drafts

Hello everyone. Here's a collection of my unfinished drafts, chapters I for some reason, fail to come up with a good follow-up. Why publish them? Because I figured that the time I took to write them would at least serve a purpose other than to help me with my written English. Why read a bunch of chapters without follow-up? Well, that's a good question. I can understand that reading something without a story behind it is frustrating but I do it first and foremost to try to figure out why exactly I cannot be satisfied with my work. Who knows? Perhaps if you guys give me enough advice and particularly like one of the ideas I exposed, I could try writing it for real. Anyway, I'm exposed to criticism and would like to hear your guys' opinions on those chapters. By the way, if one of y'all wants to write his own story inspired by one of the chapters they are free to do so. However, the last thing I want to see is copy/paste of those chapters. After all, it is still stealing intellectual property. If you guys see my chapters on another website, it isn't me, and would like to hear about it. I have hundreds of drafts to publish, but won't do it all in the same day. Put the book in your collection to stay tuned in.

Chapter 2 - DC Comics (2)

2108 words. Have a great day!

------

A light gust of wind came brushing against my skin, waking me out of my sleep.

It took me a moment to understand the situation I was thrown into.

The moon was still high in the dark sky, providing a very weak source of light as it was partially hidden by the clouds.

Strangely, despite the darkness of the place I was in, I have no difficulty identifying everything around me.

I am standing on sand. The constant back and forth of the water behind me indicate that I probably am on a beach.

'What was my name again?' I thought about my old name, trying to remember more of my past life.

Even though I was pretty sure of how I died and could perfectly remember everything that happened before losing consciousness in the dark place, I couldn't seem to remember most of my life.

Things like my name or the names of my friends were in my head, blank.

Hell.

I couldn't even remember their faces.

"Am I losing my mind?" I asked aloud, trying to decipher the truth from the lie.

The strangest part was the fact that I could remain this calm even though I was practically on alien territory, alone.

"Is it the self-control perk or something else? It feels like I am watching a movie."

I looked at my environment with renewed focus.

The part of the beach I was in seems pretty empty.

The nearby houses also looked quite modern, the parked cars and boats were similar to the ones which could be seen in the 21st century.

'For now, I should try to find clothes. My new body doesn't seem as alien as before, but I need to gather intel about the world and see if all my perks are real.'

I turned to walk toward the city since I couldn't find anything by staying on this beach.

"Hm?" My head turned toward the left where several men were walking in my direction.

'Did I unconsciously ignore them?'

They seem to have been trying to gain my attention for a while now.

"Oi fucker, do people of your race even understand English?" One of the four men asked me, playing with a butterfly knife in his hand.

The other four were all snickering at his words, probably trying to think to more insulting words.

The fact that he talks English doesn't help much in knowing where I am but it indicates that I won't have trouble communicating with people at least.

Faced with nothing but silence on my part, they decided to go for a different intimidation strategy.

They started to encircle me.

"I think he is a mute one, Gary!" The only bald man in their little group declared, laughing.

The other quickly followed, each trying to guess why I was not speaking despite the situation.

"I guess he is too shocked, boys! He got smuggled so hard the first day of the year that he is naked on the beach!" The brown-haired man behind me proposed.

Thanks to him, I just noticed that I lacked any kind of clothes.

Not that I care.

Do not misunderstand, I am no exhibitionist. I just think that it is not the most important problem right now.

At least I know what time of the year it is.

1st January. They all wear warm coats so I can guess that it is quite cold.

Fortunately, I don't feel any of the cold I would have felt if I was human.

"For a back guy, you got quite the face huh? Why don't I correct that?" The one with a knife declared, approaching with his knife.

From what I remember, I was black in my past life too. Even though my body changed a lot, I think that my appearance only got better. Probably due to my divine origins.

Focusing back on the current situation, I observed how the man slashed at my face with the knife.

I could smell the odor of the alcohol on his clothes and his uneven breath.

The sound of his beating heart accelerated as the adrenaline kicked in.

His arm's muscles shifted to an amateurish degree to slash deep and fast.

The amount of information I could decipher under a second was frightening.

Becoming a god did not only bring physical changes.

The moment I stopped marveling at my newfound power, I thought about my next action.

He was still in his slashing motion, time seemed to be frozen.

My perception seemed to be so high that speed was a relative concept in my eyes.

This power. I want to test it.

I lift my arm toward his face.

He still was in the process of slashing toward my face.

Unfortunately for him, he was human. He could not perceive such fast movement.

Even if he could, I doubt he could have done anything but widen his eyes in horror.

The moment my hand impacted his face, I could not feel any resistance.

It was like diving your hand into the water.

His face took the form of my palm before the vibrations transmitted by what seemed like a 'slight touch' from my part began to blow his head like a balloon.

Chunks of skulls and brain matter were flying everywhere in slow motion before slowly losing their initial speed and becoming as frozen as everything else.

I just took the life of someone.

It is not the first time.

However, I usually don't feel this feeling of... superiority.

As if I did something that I was meant to do.

Something engraved into my very soul.

I could not help but let the grin fully appear on my face.

It was real.

I was stronger and faster than any human being.

I was overall above humans.

Above humanity.

I clenched my bloodied fist.

Looking around, I noticed that my perception was still accelerated.

Thankfully these guys are the first ones here.

If this world has stronger people, it will be a pain to fight them.

The perk giving me perfect self-control is a real-life saver considering the euphory I had when killing this man.

If I am not prudent enough, I might lose myself to murder, like a mindless beast.

It would be horrible considering my new status as a god.

Speaking of gods, I should have another power besides my current physique.

"[Logic manipulation] was it?" I said aloud, wondering how I use it.

"Actions are better than speculations." I finally decided.

I let my perception return to normal speed.

The sound of a small explosion was heard and the three remaining guys were flung onto the ground by the wind pressure of my previous movements.

The headless body of the armed one slumped onto the reddening sand, its muscles still twitching from time to time.

The moment the three other men could lift their heads from the sand, their faces whitened in horror.

It was probably because their headless comrade was at my feet, blood gushing out of its torso.

Or maybe because they realized that they fucked up big today.

Regardless of their emotions, I moved.

I grabbed the head of one of them before forcefully tearing off his head from his shoulders.

The only difference was that this time I wished for something rather... illogical.

"Stay alive will you?" The question that came out from my mouth seemed strange and devoid of sense to a headless corpse but it had incomparable power and in my situation, made perfect sense.

I continued to rip off his head, the spine still attached to his skull as blood was splattering everywhere.

The process did not particularly seem painful for the man.

He looked more shocked than anything else.

After a few seconds, his facial muscles were still moving. His eyes darting everywhere trying to understand what was happening to probably, no avail.

"I know that decapitated heads can be conscious for a while before dying. However, it's been a few seconds and you are still going strong." I said to no one in particular.

It is really strange but I don't feel anything from whatever I do here.

Anything besides this strange feeling of satisfaction I mean.

Losing interest in the headless undead, I drop his head before turning to the two remaining men.

I could hear his strange moan, still confused about what is happening.

One of them lost consciousness, peeing and shitting his pants.

I have to admit it is not something you see every day.

The other one however was... strange.

He was looking at me with what looked like fanatism in his eyes.

Once realizing I was looking at him, he quickly went on his knee, prostrating toward me.

"What are you doing?" I asked curiously.

"M-my lord Satan, I implore your forgiveness for my actions. I did not know that you had descended upon the mortal world." He stuttered, pressing his head even more in the sand.

I raised a brow at his world.

Yes, my actions were cruel and brutal. It was also clearly supernatural, but why assume I am the epitome of evil just because I committed a bit of murder and necromancy?

"I am no Satan. However, I can offer you a bit of power against something." I proposed, walking toward him, warm blood dripping from my hands.

His heart seemed to skip a beat at the mention of power.

"Wh-what do you desire, Lord? Is it my soul?" He proposed, his head still against the cold sand.

"I do not need your soul. I simply desire information." I answer, my right hand coming to rest upon his head.

'If I am correct, I should be able to look at his memory through my [Logic manipulation] power. After all, I decided that it was logical for me to be able to do so.'

Confirming my assumption, I saw the entirety of his memory. From events, he did not remember like his birth and traumatic experiences to what he saw one second ago.

A second later, I took back my hand.

This world had really powerful people like I guessed.

Ranging from the seemingly invincible Superman to the fastest man on Earth, Flash.

The Justice League as they call themselves.

Fighting crime and alien threats to the Earth.

They even have a small team of sidekicks entitled Teen Titans.

They were formed around a year ago because of the invasion of 'Parademons', an alien race which goal was to destroy Earth or something along the lines.

Speaking about heroes, it seems like I appeared in National City. The city recently saw the arrival of a resident hero, Supergirl. Judging by her costume and hero alias, she has some kind of relationship with Superman.

Being depicted as an enemy of humanity would be quite annoying since the Justice League will go after me.

Shaking my head, I decided to find somewhere to relax first. An apartment or house in a quiet neighborhood.

I looked back at the man at my feet, deciding what to do with him.

"I am the God of Logic. What is your name?"

"My name is John Millson, my lord."

John's heart was beating louder and louder each passing second.

'Let's see the extent of my power.' I thought, focusing on the palm of my hand.

The blood disappeared as a little shining white orb came into existence.

I threw it into his skull and it sunk in without any problem.

John's hands went to his head as he felt an immense pain reaching every cell of his brain.

His screams echoed into the empty beach. The unknown energy was filling every one of his cells.

Unfazed by his screams of pain, I explain what was happening.

"I gave you the power I spoke about. From now on, you are my Champion. You will answer any of my orders with the utmost precision and loyalty."

I could see that the pain he was feeling was gradually weakening.

"You will have the power to control the deads to a certain degree. Don't be stupid by trying to kill heroes and cause unnecessary destruction. Try to grow more powerful and develop your abilities as well."

At this point, he already had stopped groaning and was simply laying down, unresponsive. However, I was certain that he could understand what I was saying.

"I expect great entertainment from you... John Millson." I declared, walking toward the city.

If I can't do everything I want because of the heroes, I can certainly use some pawns to do these things.

Flying being with lasers coming from their eyes...

What a strange world.
