Prologue

A cold winter morning, snow covered the street. It was a like a salt bedded lake, as I stomped my foot into the three inch snow. Making way in an empty street with no sound, which led to Pinewoods Street. Street known for mysterious murders and deaths. The street had its snow melted, leaving a way full of red dead leaves.

The only sound prevailed were the whooshing of trees and clumping of leaves. I fixed my coat and hurdled my hands into the pocket, a cold breeze withered my face. The cold was breaking it's way into my coat and feet.

I still had a dry, empty street to cross. A street were many murders have been taken place, especially this time of the year.

But I had no other way than to take this risk before I froze. The main streets were closed due to over snowfall and I couldn't wake there. This was a deadly short cut.

I took my phone out and connected some music to distract myself from the dwelled fear, that drought my thoughts. As I walked I could hear a faint voice of chanting.

I regretted this moment. What I feared was near me. Rumours say that, when we hear this voice, the death is near. Death is the only thing I feared. I never wanted that day to be today.

I closed my eyes tight for a second. I could feel the breeze entering my ears. I didn't want to cross the street. But I had to.

I kept my first step with a courage. All there was, was ruins of houses and many tall big wide trees on the pavement. Every house had a story to tell. There was blood spills on the floors. Leaves rustled on the pavement. The snow filled the roofs.

A pin drop of silence prevailed. I made my music a little louder and connected my earphones. I hurdled my hands tight inside the pocket.

My look was straight ahead. I walked fast with a speed and courage.

But, I spotted a man with black coat and leather gloves, he was tall and he looked like a body builder. The types which most girls admire, but in this situation most girls would like to disappear into air. . He dragged a dead women out of her house. The only house in that street which still had living fear free people. But it was gone now. Now it was official that no one lives there. The rumours of this street were true. "Killing is an never ending desire" said the man looking at the dead women's scar-ed face. His voice was iniquitous.

Blood was all over her. Her face, her scar marks. Her hands were cut off. Blood spills were on his coat.

He wore a wicked smile now. I ran behind a tree and sat down. Praying that he would not notice me. I prayed deeply. My heart was withering in fear. I was in a tremble situation.

I peeped from the edge to see what happened, I saw that he dragged the lady and slit an axe on her head.

He said ,

"I make deaths as a wish

You are just a dish

Living is not a tool

Life is making you a fool" , his poem was not good, I was sure that it had a meaning too deep cut within it.

He slithered his hands with a small touch, which

made a double small faint clap. He removed the cult of blood from his hands by the faint clap. I could feel the pain of women. I sat there, hiding but nothing I can do to the women. A deep axe of scar silt my heart.

I could feel the gloves rustling in his hands. The blood dripped, I could see the scared face of girl. The poor girl died- what a pity. But pity wasn't a look there, I had to disappear before I get caught in his devil hands. I slowly sat down, and crouched myself. The tree was big and wide enough cover me. I made my breath slow and steady. Sounds of killing made me peep from the tree.

He dragged her without mercy and tossed her on the ground. His broad- shoulders shrug as he moves the pity body across the front yard into the house.

My legs were shaking. It was like me being a the worst moment. I couldn't bare but to see what happen.

The blood trailed the yard. Foul smell spread across the street. Snowing started. Barely for hours I hadn't move. I turned my music down to save my battery.

I checked again if the coast was clear, the cold was fighting it's way through in me. Fear of death started to eat me whole. Every second I feared with pounding heart.

By god's grace the coast was clear. I walked back to the main road and took that street to my home.

"Dear Laila, why are you late?" Groaned my mom. I couldn't answer her. Words were not coming from my mouth. The fear still shattered me into pieces.

Many questions Arised. I felt like to run somewhere distant, a Nomad land. But I couldn't.

She came closer and patted my head. "What's wrong dear?" She asked with caring sense, that tingled the side of my thought.

I replied, "a long day I think. I must go and rest. No need dinner". As I took of to my room.

I crouched up at the side of my bed and crumbled up the blanket. Tears of fear rolled from my eyes.

The sounds of wicked clap was ringing in my ears every second. I opened the curtains of my window and stared at the bright, shining moon. Wishing to be saved....from the ringing terrors.

A faint shadow with a broad-shoulder walked past my garden. I crunched back to the edge of my bed and closed the window.

I ran downstairs and checked if the locks were locked. They were...

Is it him? If it was why did he come here? Did he see me?
