Resonance

In absolute silence, the sounds were the loudest but that silence made them even louder. Everything in between the 5 kilometers was in complete chaos. The masked man ignoring the citizens screaming and running in different directions directly put all his attention on the 2 Ironbound squads in front of him. Suddenly all 10 men and 4 women of Ironbound all pulled out a revolver, a beautiful-looking one whose whole body looked like it was made of pure white crystal, It was rather large than a regular revolver and the masked man felt a dangerous aura coming from those revolvers. 

"Basil and Lavinia, You both go protect Clara we will handle protecting other civilians" Vane ordered in a loud voice.

Hearing this both of them disappeared instantly and appeared beside Clara who was covering her eyes and mouth with her hands, holding a puke at the moment, The air was filled with intense bloodlust and the masked man was still standing beside the carriage door, waiting for an attack.

Suddenly 60 sharp dark black knives appeared at the neck of the masked man just about to stab him, these knives appeared at just 6 inches of distance from The masked man without any signs of an attacker.

The masked man seeing this blinked and immediately the space around shook and there was no one to be seen at the spot now, The dark knives hit the wooden carriage but they didn't actually hit it, They just passed right through the carriage then even scared civilians and just disappeared without harming anyone or anything.

All of the knives suddenly appeared surrounding a Man of about 32 years of age with blonde hair and deep scars running through his handsome face. He was wearing a blue tuxedo and a top hat while controlling the knives with one hand holding the gun facing upward direction in a relaxed manner. Emrys was a bishop for the Church just like Vane though Vane's situation was different because of being a higher noble.

"Emrys behind you" Shouted Vane while shooting his gun with others simultaneously immediately white lights launched from their revolvers and reached Emrys in an instant while Emrys hearing this surrounded himself with his knives and turning back he saw the Masked man appearing with an Unsheathed red long sword just about to run through his chest. 

As the masked man saw these weird white lights approaching he spread his hand and gave it a strong push and with a push strong waves were produced from his hand which were shaking everything around them, like about to crack the air itself, this sonic boom was not a random attack but the moment the masked man appeared he was collecting every sound in 5 kilometers and storing them as for a situation like this.

All the windows instantly cracked while some lower-quality houses in the street also went down.

The white blasts collided with the strong sonic attack and what everyone saw was a sharp blinding light and a sharp static sound making the ears of hearing bleed and the head hurt. The bullets fired from the Ironbound squad were a kind of special artifact provided to the most skilled and most worthy members of the whole church with the highest mission completion rate, It can directly disrupt the connection of the target from its Aether which most likely results in target exploding or in special cases turning into Abberants because of their control losing from their Aether core.

The bright light continue to shine for 5 minutes making it hard for anyone to decipher what's going on.

Vane frowned smelling the strong smell of blood. And Now the light was gradually growing dimmer and dimmer. "Veinbind" yelled Vane in an anxious tone and immediately a hundred golden and black chains appeared surrounding him and then with his single hand movement all the chains directly went towards the bright light.

The bright light getting in contact with Vane's black chains graduallly started disolving and mixing with the chains and when it was dissolving the Golden chains were getting brighter and brighter.

After 2 minutes Finally all of the light and sharp sounds were gone and everyone could see what was happening.

And what they saw visibly shook them, the sonic attack the masked man launched, its full brunt was faced by a single man, All the knives that were first giving out a powerful aura were silently lying on the ground, Lifelessly. All the Ironbound had a melancholic expression, while Amalia a Bishop ranked member of church was clenching her hands and biting her lower lip.

".....Thank you Emrys" Hearing Vane's words Emrys smiled and closed his eyes.

Everyone realised, even civilians if Emrys had dodged the attack, this attack would've directly hit them on the ground, Ironbound squads could easily protect themselves from any serious injuries but everything in the 1 km radius would've been completely destroyed including civilians.

'So he reinforced his back with every bit of Aether in his body...' a sad and angry look flashed on Vane's face, Suddenly Vane noticed something and a light flashed in his eyes.

Vane directly leaped forward in the masked man's direction with an extremely fast speed, He was fully reinforcing his feet with as much Aether they could hold.

The masked man disappeared while slowly pulling his sword and Emrys's body started falling to the ground, One of Vane's golden chains caught Emrys and he could feel Emrys's body getting colder by the moment, The chains slowly started increasing in size and now covering Emrys's full body leaving nothing of his body to be seen.

The masked man instantly appeared beside Vane with his sword still drawn aiming sideways to cut Vane in half from the middle, But Vane expected this and prepared for this, so as planned he immediately changed his direction and went back on the ground near Leor's house. 

Vane's aura changed, more than 1000 black chains appeared around him, way darker than before, all the golden chain disappeared except the one on Emrys's body which was now completely detached from Vane's body and shined even more brighter than before.

Vane's eyes were filled with extreme bloodlust and he made his move, and thousands of huge chains moved at extreme speed spreading in all directions, while some surrounded his body from outside.
