First Day At Work

Inside a large office, painted white with satin paint, and illuminated by an expensive chandelier hanging from above. A girl is seen seated on an office chair, swiveling around on the chair in a circular motion. There is also a large desk situated in front of her with a computer on top of it, coupled with numerous piles of documents.

This girl is none other than Bai Xiuying, the daughter of the rich and famous Bai Guiying, the owner of Gony corporation. And also one of the richest man on earth. She had agreed to her dad's terms and ventured out to work in another company before taking over the company after a year.

"Sigh, my first day at work is so boring. I have to work through all these piles of documents." Xiuying mumbles while skimming through the documents to know where to start. This isn't really much work for her since she's used to working on piles of documents in her dad's company.

'I wonder who my boss is. I can't believe I am working for the CEO of Zamzung corporation. I know it's wrong because Zamzung corporation is a competitor of Gony corporation, my father's company. But for some reason, I am excited about it.' Xiuying thinks inwardly and starts working on the documents as soon as she opens a spreadsheet on her computer.

Xiuying starts working endlessly without any trace of tiredness. The only sound in the room is the clicking sounds of the keyboard. After what seemed like an hour she lets out a long sigh…

"Ah, I'm so tired, I can't believe I did those files on an empty stomach. I'm so hungry now." Xiuying laments while rubbing her stomach.

*Grrrrh….*

Her stomach let out growling sounds and this time she doesn't need anyone to tell her what to do. In the next moment, she packs her stuff, turns off the computer, and takes her purse before walking out of her office to have her lunch.

When she reaches one of her colleagues' cabin to ask where the cafeteria is located, she hears some whispers but doesn't seem to know what they are mumbling about so she decides to ask one of her colleagues who is known to be a talkative person, Zhou Mei, forgetting the real purpose of why she's here in the first place. Zhou Mei is the only person that comes to Xiuying's mind right now because she assisted her a lot during her interview here.

"Hi, Zhou Mei, what's going on here? Why is everyone whispering? What are they talking about?" Xiuying asks with a clueless look on her face.

Zhou Mei looks at her for a while with a suspicious gaze before finally signaling her to move her ear closer to her so she can tell her what happened.

Xiuying is still wondering about what Zhou Mei asked her to do because she felt that they weren't supposed to do this in an office. Nevertheless, she doesn't mind because of her curiosity so she moves her ear closer to Zhou Mei upon her request.

"I also don't know what they are discussing about but it seems like they are talking about the CEO returning from his business trip." Zhou Mei whispers into Xiuying's ear.

Xiuying's first expression is the utmost look of surprise because she couldn't believe the fact that they were making unnecessary noise just because the CEO is coming back.

'Aren't they expecting him to come back? This is weird, but I wonder the type of person my boss is.' Xiuying thinks inwardly. But a sharp pain in her stomach brings her back to the reality that she's hungry.

What she heard from Zhou Mei added to her curiosity about this mysterious boss of hers. For her to know more about him, she had to use this talkative, yappy beauty to her advantage.

Thinking about this, a small grin appears on Xiuying's face. No doubt Zhou Mei is very beautiful with her long waist-length night-black hair and an average height of 1.6 meters. Apart from this, she's also well endowed as a woman. However, she's lacking compared to the unparalleled beauty of Xiuying. Despite Zhou Mei's beauty, her yappy nature made her somewhat annoying among her colleagues because she's not the type who could keep secrets.

"So you're telling me now that all these murmurs and noise are just because the boss is coming back from his trip right?" Xiuying asks with a bitter smile.

Zhou Mei looks at Xiuying and glances around the office, left and right while thinking about the right choice of words to use that won't implicate her or affect her position. On another thought she reconsidered, assuming maybe it's because Xiuying is a newcomer who doesn't know anything about the company.

"See, I understand what you mean, Xiuying. You are new here so you don't understand but the rest of us here, knows what's going on. It's like you really don't know the type of boss you want to work with." Zhou Mei says with a sigh…while slowly typing on her computer.

"You know what, Xiuying? Although I also don't know everything about him. But I will brief you on the little I know about the boss, so you will be able to last here and not lose your well-paying Job." Zhou Mei continues…

Zhou Mei takes a look at Xiuying who is standing beside her cabin, thinking about whether she should continue or not. But seeing the way Xiuying is looking at her with curiosity, tells that she's ready to know more about him. Then Zhou Mei proceeds to tell her all she knows about him.

"Xiuying, let me ask you this first." Mei says to Xiuying while the latter nods her head in return.

Seeing the way Xiuying is eager to hear her out, Zhou Mei gets a little excited and puffs her chest in pride.

"Today is your first day in this company. Have you noticed anything strange or unusual since you have been here?"

Xiuying looks at Zhuo Mei, thinking about the bizarre question she asked her. Today is her first day, how would she fucking notice anything unusual!?

However, because of her curiosity, Xiuying decides to play along and is about to answer her question before they both hear growling sounds.

They both look at each other to ask themselves where the sounds are coming from but to their surprise, they hear another round of the sound again but louder than the previous one.

"Ah, it seems like your baby is angry and hungry. Let's go to the cafeteria to buy lunch and continue our discussion there." Zhou Mei says with a small laugh and teasing giggles.

Xiuying looks at her with a frown on her face. She knows very well that she's making fun of her but who is to blame if not for the fact that this isn't what she came to do in the first place? But the unyielding curiosity about her boss made her forget what she really came here to do.

Xiuying doesn't have any choice other than to follow Zhou Mei to the cafeteria unless she wants to go hungry. This way, things would even be easier for her.

They both walk to the cafeteria to have their lunch and continue their conversation....
