Poison Pill

Iris inhaled deeply before using a piece of cloth to cover her nose and mouth. She didn't want the scent of the pill to enter her body and harm her.

The men struggled in futility, the vines were too strong for them to break and run away from.

Yet their curses didn't stop. They kept calling Iris names, which… of course, only fueled her anger. She gritted her teeth and concentrated on bringing the pill ingredients together.

Even though mages could make simple pills, it required more concentration and effort, since they didn't have control over the flame.

This flame was automatically provided by the stove, better known as the 'pill furnace'. Irisine had bought this a few years back, according to the memories in her brain.

The furnace was bound to her body, so even if someone tried to steal it, the furnace wouldn't respond. At the same time, it would suck mana out of her body, which was more exhausting.

As long as the mana flow was constant, the pill formation would be carried out smoothly. She just had to make sure the pill ingredients were nicely heated up, and melted.

"Hmm.. This is good but I can make it better. Bring it up a notch." Iris murmured to herself, a wicked smile formed on her lips.

She looked around, until her eyes landed on the hill. Almost immediately, Iris recognised what the purple colour was from. It wasn't that far away, she could easily get some of the purple substance. The astonishing ability of the purple substance was to enhance the effects of any poison by 10%! This factor wasn't small, and Iris knew that.

She had heard a lot about this substance— goo, back then. She didn't expect to find it during such an incident. More so, Iris had never thought that the purple colour was because of the goo.

Shoving back the glee rising in her throat, Iris leaped forward, taking the furnace with her. Iris' hands moved swiftly, beckoning the goo to come her way. The purple dew-like goo rose like droplets and flew near her.

Soon, they were all collected in the furnace, along with the other pill ingredients.

A melted, stinky pool of pill ingredients could be seen in the churning furnace.

The men who had been struggling, finally realised something.

They had fucked up.

One of them said in a trembling voice, "H-hey, what is she doing!?"

"I d-don't know, I've never seen this before. Didn't only those high rank cultivators do this? With a huge pot, a hot flame and this… li-liquid." The other whispered.

Iris could hear this all, but she calmly ignored.

'Let them have a taste of their own medicine.' She smiled.

The black clouds had dispersed.

She was making a Tier 1 pill, so without a doubt, pill lightning wouldn't occur. It was just that the purple goo attracted a lot of attention, so automatically, the clouds collected over the hill and her furnace.

In just a few moments, a sparkling pill stood in front of her.

Well, that was how it was supposed to go but instead of a sparkling pill, she had a dull, violet one in front.

It had streaks of black in it, probably from the special 'treat' she had added in it.

She couldn't help but giggle.

One after the other, three pills popped out.

"Now, now, who wants some candy?" Iris gave a closed-eye smile, her pretty face lighting up.

The men shivered.

They did not know what these pills were, but they didn't look the least good.

"L-look here Miss, we were just joking around. W-we n-n-never planned to do anything."

Iris cracked a twig lying on the ground with her foot, grinding it to dust.

"Huh? Is that so?" She asked, emphasising every word.

"Y-y-yes."

The man was about to pee from the amount of pressure Iris was exuding.

With a wham, Iris kicked his face, hard and swift. A 'crack' resounded, even though the wind was making so much noise.

The other men shivered.

The guy's teeth had definitely broken.

"Please forgive us Miss, w-we won't do it again." one of them sobbed, his mucus and tears mixed, making his already ugly face even more ugly.

"I refuse. Those who dare to even look my way, have to suffer. I will make sure that each and every one of you will repent for your sins." She spoke in a righteous manner, but her eyes were glazed, a fire burning in them.

She couldn't wait.

Iris couldn't wait to see them regret.

Without delaying for longer, Iris forced open their mouths, and popped the pill in.

Their bodies started convulsing violently. One of them fell to the ground, the heat in his body was unbearable. The other was rubbing himself against another man, moaning and groaning. The lust was too much, he just had to relieve himself.

"Let the play begin." She huffed out a laugh, and left them alone.

But before going, she didn't forget to kick the groin of the man whose face she had hit before.

The man let out a final pained noise, and fell unconscious.

"Tsk."

She didn't want to spend more time with these fools. Iris summoned back her pill furnace and wiped off the dust from her hands.

Giving a final look to them, Iris resumed her journey.

The hill wasn't that far, but she was tired from all the mana the pill furnace had drained. Heaving a sigh, she climbed up.

Her eyes took time to adjust to the mist and fog here. The piece of clothing provided little protection, but it was better than nothing.

To her surprise, she saw craters around the hill and deep cut marks.

'Huh? People are actually fighting here?'

Her mind drifted to the man she had met earlier, wondering if he was involved.

She shook her head daintily, about to go and check what was happening. Just to be on the safer side, Iris took out the sword she had been given.

Clenching it tightly with one hand, she inched forward, voices filling her ear.
