You Look Familiar

DIANA POV

'What is he doing?', Scott stared at me with his enthralling gray eyes as he leaned towards me. I placed my hand on his chest when suddenly the door swung open.

"Are we interrupting something?", a tall, tan, brown haired guy came in followed by a dark haired petite woman wearing a very short beach dress with plunging neckline.

"Yes..", "No!", - Scott and I exclaimed at the same time. He bitterly put his shirt back on, frowning and wetting his lips. Seems to me, he's pissed looking like he got caught by his girlfriend with another woman. We both stood up as he introduced them to me.

"Diana, these are my friends. Lucas Trevor, he owns this villa. And this is Christina Rivers.", Scott placed his arm around my waist guiding me carefully towards his friends.

"I'm Lucas, nice to finally meet you," Lucas said as he stretched his arm offering a handshake.

"Pleasure is mine, Lucas", I shook his hand and smiled. He paused and grimaced looking at me carefully. Without letting go of my hand, he pulled me closer and asked, "Have we met before? You look familiar".

I have met so many patients in my years of practice as a doctor. My patients and go, and I only remember a few them. There's a possibility I've met him in an instance or two, but, I can hardly remember.

"I get that a lot", I said and smiled.

"I'm sure the kind of rare beauty like yours is not very common", as he smirked and winked at me. Now, he's a ladies man, I thought.

"Uh hem…" Scott cleared his throat making Lucas let go of my hand.

"Oh and this is Christina", Lucas said as he put his hand behind her shoulder.

Christina just gave me a half smile and said, "I left my purse in the kitchen. Lucas asked me to get it later because you're busy. I didn't know you're with a girl.". She then approached Scott and hugged him like a cat marking her territory. "I've missed you..", she hugged him even harder burying her face in his chest.

So this is his girlfriend? I never thought he'd prefer these types of girls. I expected more.

"I better get going. I'm just here to check his injury. He accidentally fell off and hurt his back earlier today", I explained.

"You're hurt?? Where?? Are you bleeding??", Christina overly reacted as she inspect led Scott's body. I noticed Scott was not minding Christina and just stared at me.

"I'm sure it hurts so bad!", Lucas squinted his eyes as he nod to Scott. Wolves are known to have immense strength and heals fast on their own. Being an Alpha, simple fall is nothing to Scott.

"It does", Scott gritted is teeth and glared to Lucas. "But I'm fine now", he added.

"Like, what happened? I'll check it myself", Christina said, while rolling her eyes at me. I smiled a little and glanced at Scott. He looked at me and mouthed 'I'm sorry'..

"I was riding Apollo and..", before I could even finish Christina couldn't wait to turn the spotlight on her..

"Apollo?? How on earth can you ride that horse?! So you're the reason why Scott got hurt??", she raised her voiced a little as she started to jump into conclusions. Scott is trying the calm her down but Christina is so hyped to fight me like a jealous girlfriend. "It's not what you think, Christina", Scott said as he grazed his eyebrow with his index finger, tilting his head to the side.

"Ms. Rivers, Whatever happened between me and Scott, it has been settled. You can ask him for the specific details given that you two are very close. I'm sure he'll tell you everything. I don't want to be falsely accused, so as I have I said it was just an accident.", I said calmly. "I'll walk myself out, Scott. Thank you for the hearty lunch and the strawberry shortcake", as I was about to walk out, Scott held my arm. Christina widen her eyes as her face turned red.

"I'll take you back to your bungalow", he said with a worried facial reaction. Christina pulled him back and said, "Scott, you're injured remember? Let her go on her own".

"Alright this has been fun! Diana, Let's go! I'll walk you back to your bungalow", Lucas broke the ice with a clap and took my hand from Scott securing it in his arm as he pulled me out. "See ya, guys…. I'll take her", he nodded at Scott before gently closing the door.

Diana and Lucas walked side by side as they trail the stone pathways going to her bungalow. With Diana's hand still secured in Lucas' arm, he tapped her hand to comfort her and said, "I'm sorry, she's not usually like that around guests. There's just so many red flags, you know?".

Christina have liked Scott and have always hoped that he is the one for her. She prayed for the moon goddess to let Scott be her destined mate. Seeing him with others girls gets her infuriated.

"Red flags?", Diana asked.

"Well, Scott doesn't cook for just anybody, that's one.. He never invited a girl before, that's two. You rode Apollo, that's three… he let you eat his strawberry shortcake, that's four…" before he could even continue, Diana asked..

"Wait..what's with the strawberry shortcake? There so many stores where you can get it from", as she looked at him and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"There could be so many strawberry shortcakes out there, but the one you had was extremely special . Scott baked it", he said with a gentle smile.

Diana thought she was just misunderstood by Christina. There's nothing going on between her and Scott. He never showed special attention and romantic intentions toward her. And she liked to keep it that way.

"We just had no choice", she said. "Well, I think it's best that they won't see so much of me in the future, so I can avoid things like this", she added with a sigh.

Lucas was surprised with her response. Seems to him, Scott's Luna didn't imprinted on him. 'How on earth is this possible?', he thought.

When they reach the bungalow, Diana opened the door and turned to Lucas. "Thanks for walking me back", she said. Given that Lucas has a gallant vibe, Diana still thought he is good-hearted.

"We'll have a bonfire party tonight at 8pm in the west side of the island. All guests are invited. You should come", Lucas said with his hands in his pockets and smiling with his eyes.

"I bet Christina would love to see me there", Diana said sarcastically.

"Give her a chance. She might be a brat most of the time, but she's okay when you get to know her. I apologize on her behalf", Lucas said lifting his brows up and down.

I'm never the type of person who cling to others for the sake of knowing them or making friends. I don't want the company of people who complicate things, who give off bad vibes and who do not think before they act. I held the door knob tightly before I replied.

"Thanks for inviting me, but we'll see..", then I closed the door gently looking straight directly at him.
