The quiz

Charlotte left the Smith's house after Adam's father had instructed and urged her to be a good friend and guidance for Adam at school. She was happy to see the father reunion with his son's Adam.

Mr Smith was now interested in his son success and he wished the two kids success in their quiz.

The day for the quiz had finally came and Adam, Charlotte, Caleb and Princess had left their school for the quiz.

"Guys please relax and study the question very well before answering it." advised their English teacher from unique international high school

"Thank you ma'am." the students said in unison

They entered the hall and was surprised at the distinguish students already seated for the quiz. After an hour, the quiz's exam finally ended and they were now waiting eagerly for their results

"I can't wait for the results to come out!" said Caleb anticipated

"Me too. I must pass this quiz if not I won't be studying in Paris for my university degree." said Princess anxiously

"It's time for the results!" announced the moderator and all the students sat down immediately

"Yes!!" replied the students eagerly waiting for the results

Charlotte was praying silently and Adam was looking up expectantly while Caleb and Princess was looking at the other students from other schools giggling among themselves

"This is a big news, I mean. The winner for the quiz academy for the year is Charlotte Peters!" said the moderator suddenly

Charlotte was shocked at the mention of her name, she paused for a while and looked at Adam face if she heard the name right

"Charlotte you did it!" said Adam happily

Everyone started clapping for her, the English teacher quickly moved over to her seat and beckoned her to come on stage.

"The second winner is Adam Smith!" shouted the moderator. Everyone applauded him while the third winner was Caleb, the seventh position was Princess. She was mad at her results and she started crying profusely

"It's not the end of the world Princess, people are staring at you. Please stop crying dear." said Adam softly and she was surprised at Adam petting her not to cry again, she thought to herself and said "If I can't make it in the quiz I should have someone that cares for me after all." said Princess sadly and Adam petted her gently on her back

"The three winners from unique international high school will be granted scholarship to study in any university of their choice. Once again congratulations." said the moderator

Everyone cheered them up and they were applauded by the audience. The students finally left the venue and they were allowed to go to their various houses. Charlotte and Caleb decided to visit Vivian's house while Adam and Princess left together.

"Hi Vivian!" said Charlotte after she had been ushered inside the big house. Charlotte had begged Caleb to stand outside for a while and later she would called him inside

"Hi!" replied Vivian unhappy, she sat down on the sofa indifferently and turned to the other side of the wall

"I'm sorry dear," said Charlotte suddenly

"For what?" asked Vivian narrowed her eyebrows at her

""For not checking on you, I'm very sorry please forgive me." said Charlotte softly and she drew closer to her and begged her

"Uhmn okay." mumbled Vivian

""Thank you. guess what!" said Charlotte grinned

"What's that and how was the quiz?" asked Vivian puzzled

"It was fabulous!" replied happily

"Really, I mean was the questions not strict?" asked Vivian surprisedly

"It was, but guess what?" asked Charlotte grinning

"You carried third position right!" replied Vivian chuckled

"Nope!" said Charlotte

"Please don't tell me you fail the quiz." said Vivian scared up

"I didn't. Anyways I'm studying abroad!" exclaimed Charlotte happily

"Whoa really, what position did you get?" asked Vivian gladly

"First position!!!" said Charlotte joyfully

"Whoa whoa. Am happy for you girl." Vivian quickly hugged her unexpectedly and they both rolled on the floor laughing hysterically

"I almost forget, I have a surprise for you." said Charlotte suddenly

"What's that?" asked Vivian puzzled

"It's surprise please close your eyes please." pleaded Charlotte and Vivian closed her eyes gently. And Caleb entered the house gently and he was standing behind Charlotte

"You can open your eyes now." said Charlotte smiling

"Okay where's the surprise..." asked Vivian, and she was shocked half way to see Caleb standing behind Charlotte's back "WHAT!" said Vivian furiously

"Vivian please hear me out. I'm very sorry please I'm sorry." said Caleb, he moved to her front pleading

"Charlotte get this boy out from my house now." said Vivian angrily

"Please Charlotte hear him out, he explains everything to me seriously I mean he's telling the truth." said Charlotte gently and Vivian went to sit down quietly

"Yes Viv. It was true Iris and Ivie sent me to spy on the science class but my feeling towards you eventually change in the process. I later learnt you were not a snobbish or spoiled girl I portrayed you to be Vivian. You are beautiful, kind, humble and human. I must confess you're better than those two girls and I. And i was overwhelmed how you stood up for Charlotte in front of her oppressors. You're a true meaning of friendship." admitted Caleb plainly

"Whoa whoa." mumbled Charlotte gently, she was impressed by Caleb's confession in front of Vivian

"Uhmn, I'm speechless right now." said Vivian softly, unbelievable to heard that long speech from Caleb "I think I'll forgive you, it's never your fault anyway but those two troublesome girls that spoiled your mind about science class." said Vivian thoughtfully

"Is that a yes for me." asked Caleb looking at her eagerly

"What Yes?" asked Vivian stunned

"I mean have you forgiven me now?" asked Caleb softly

"Yes of course." said Vivian smiling

"Thanks Viv." said Caleb gladly

"You're welcome." said Vivian softly

"I'm happy guys!" shouted Charlotte gladly, that Vivian and Caleb were friends again

"I miss you!" said Caleb softly and he drew closer to her and hugged her

"I miss you too." said Vivian blushing and she hugged him back

"Awwww. I think it remains one thing!" said Charlotte enviously

"What's that?" both Vivian and Caleb raised their eyebrows at Charlotte

"Are you guys dating now?" asked Charlotte in a serious face

"Gosh!" said Vivian shrieked

"Answer me jor!" said Charlotte chuckled

"I think we're." replied Caleb grinning

"I knew it. when were you planning to tell Vivian?" asked Charlotte surprisedly at her friend's action

"I'm sorry girl, I was planning to tell you sooner." replied Vivian pleading

"Okay I forgive you." said Charlotte finally

"Thank you." said Vivian cheerfully

"Do you believe, Caleb was third position for the quiz." said Charlotte suddenly

"Really I'm happy for you baby boy. You didn't let me down." said Vivian chuckled

"Naughty girl." replied Caleb grinning

"What about Adam and Princess?" asked Vivian suddenly

"Adam's second position and Princess's seventh position." replied Charlotte

"What! Princess seventh position. Omg I can't wait to see her swollen face. that proud girl." replied Vivian out laughed.

"Please don't say that to her." said Charlotte gently

"Why not I'll make jest of her cause that's how she makes jest of others." replied Vivian smiling

"Just leave her alone don't add fuel into the fire anymore." replied Charlotte grinning

"Duh you're funny." said Vivian

"Charlotte is right just leave her alone Viv." said Caleb suddenly

"I just felt to show her, how remorseful to ridicule others." said Vivian thoughtfully

"She has already had her loss, just let her me. I'm hungry girl." said Charlotte

"And me too." replied Caleb

"Sorry guys, I'll be right back!" Vivian quickly excused herself to the kitchen to get her friends some fried rice and chicken with soft drinks.

Adam finally told his parents about the good news of his national quiz. His father was so pleased and agreed to send Adam to abroad and finished his studies over there. Charlotte had decided to visit Adam's house after the school closed for the day

Adam and Charlotte were in the sitting room talking together, suddenly his step mother entered inside the room

"Now I see you're happy now huh." said Mrs Sandra scornfully looking at Adam with so much hatred

"Welcome ma!" said Charlotte quickly

"Can you hold your peace, who're you greeting?" asked Mrs Sandra looking at Charlotte irritated

"She's just greeting you and I don't know why you'll talk to my friend like that." said Adam gently, returning the gaze back to her intently

"I don't need her greeting and likewise yours too. Now let me warn you Adam, do not think you'll travel to abroad. I will make sure you travel to nowhere. I will make sure you suffer and ruin yourself here." threatened Mrs Sandra vigorously

"What!" said Charlotte inwardly and she was concerned for Adam

"Really and why mother!" asked Adam softly, not moved by her words

"Stop calling me that. You'd know your mother. And if you know what good for you. You better tell your dad you're not going anywhere, because this time I'll not be lenient with you. I bet you!" said Mrs Sandra threatening

"I don't know why you really hate me like this!" said Adam softly

"This is too much ma. Why did you hate him so much?" asked Charlotte suddenly

"Who asked you to speak?" asked Mrs Sandra contemptuously

"I'm his friend and I have the right to speak ma. Go ahead and threatened him. I have evidence with me to destroy you likewise." replied Charlotte

"WHAT!" gasped Mrs Sandra and was shocked at Charlotte statement towards her

"Yeah!" smiled Charlotte softly and she turned to Adam "Adam you don't need to scared of her anymore. You have your father hands now isn't it." said Charlotte softly and Adam nodded in agreement

Mr Smith entered the house suddenly and Mrs Sandra was shocked at his presence, she couldn't move or speak at the same time

"Thank God, daddy is here!" said Adam cheerfully

"What's going on here, dear what happened?" asked Mr Smith turned to his wife but she didn't speak up and he looked over to Adam

"Dad please hear this!" said Adam softly, he played the voice recording out for his dad and his father was dumbfounded and shocked at the threatening of his wife statement to his only dear Son

"is that not your voice Sandra?" asked Mr Smith bewildered

"Em em, am sorry Smith!" replied Mrs Sandra unfortunately

"Why did you hate my only dear son. I thought you liked him too, never knew you hated him so much." said Mr Smith angrily

"I can explain please I don't hate him I care for him." said Mrs Sandra

"What care is that? if he's your real son, you won't threatened him this way and you won't be so harsh on him." said Mr Smith annoyed

"Dad if not that Charlotte had quickly recorded it. I never knew what way to tell you how this woman really hate and threatened me. You never believe me whenever I reported her to you. Thank God you know now." said Adam finally

"I'm very sorry son and I'll make sure it doesn't repeat itself." said Mr Smith and he added "Sandra enter inside now and pack your belongings and you can take your daughter as well along if she wants, I don't want to see you here this moment any longer we're done!" said Mr Smith frankly and he left the house abruptly

"You can do like this to me, Smith. After all these years please forgive me. I will not be cruel to him again am sorry." shouted Mrs Smith halfway and she turned to Adam squarely "This is just the beginning." and she turned to Charlotte "You bastard I'll make sure you and your friend rot in hell." Mrs Sandra hissed and she entered inside to pack her things and she moved out from the house.

"I don't think she can change, see her dramatizing in front of your father, now she's threatening us again. I hope your dad divorce her immediately because she's dangerous." said Charlotte thoughtfully

"Yeah I know Charlotte, my dad meant what he said. it's over between them. I believe so." said Adam and he added softly "Thanks for the voice recording, it really means of a lot to me. You unravel what had been my fear all this years.Thank for coming into my life." Adam Drew closer to Charlotte and he hugged her tenderly

"You're welcome Adam." said Charlotte gladly

The following month, Mrs Sandra and Mrs Smith was officially divorced and Adam was glad at the turn of events in his life, he was grateful and indebted to his best friend Charlotte. The two kids are now very close together and Adam's father was indebted to Charlotte and promised to sponsor her education for being a good friend to his son. Charlotte and her friends finally graduated from unique international high school and they were all grateful for what they had learned and achieved during their studies in their school.
