From looking, Zeras could already analyze some things about the man. Firstly, was his ability, and Zeras could tell it had to do with physical strength. The man was able to sap his bullets away and judging from the sound of the collision, it was like his hands were metal and repeatedly slapped away the bullets. So, his true ability was most likely skin hardening.
