How to make money 101

"Nami ! Young lady ! If you are not looking for more trouble then come here right now !"

'Fuck ! I got caught ! I hope that she doesn't cancel my training again for next week to punish me !' Nami cursed in her mind. Not wanting to anger, Bellemere any more, she immediately went to the kitchen.

"Yes, Belli..." Nami tried to put her most innocent and cute face.

But in front of Bellemere, her effort was for naught. She was not someone who will get swayed by just a cute face.

"Do you want me to punish you more. Why don't you confess about your mistake... Maybe I will feel generous and lower your punishment." Bellemere said sweetly.

'Like hell I will fall for this trap again !' Nami sneered in her mind.

It was not the first time Bellemere has given such an offer to Nami.

As a child, Nami has been forbidden to do many things on her own.

But she breaks many rules in daily basis. Last time, she has bought and drank an entire bottle of alcohol. Later that night, Bellemere did something similar. And she confessed about it. It was pretty dumb. But you can you blame. Nami didn't even remember the random book she has stolen from the public library to make her own copy.

Last time she got double punishment and was locked in her room for 3 days straight.

"What are you talking about Belli ? I don't remember doing anything bad..."

"Then how will you explain tricking your own sister for pocket money !" Bellemere put a stern expression on her face.

'Oh ! Yeah ! I totally dis that. But who cares ? It is her fault being dumb. Nojiko doesn't even need money anyway. All she buys from her savings are pretty clothes anyway. And besides, shouldn't I get more money ? I am the one who gave the idea of making squash and syrups any way.'

The seven years old thought to herself without feeling guilty.

To explain the situation let's go a couple of years back in time.

After getting stable food supply, Nami thought about different ideas to develop their economic condition.

Nami already knew, that even with better physique, facing Arlong pirates was impossible. Running away was not an option either. So the only way for her to save Bellemere was to gather as much money as possible.

But as a child, she has a little control of their business. Belli only has a small farm of tangerine trees. The harvest is good. But the problem while the pricing of the product. Nami noticed that, after getting plucked, Tangerines only remains fresh for a couple of weeks. So exporting them to far away Islands in the east blue was impossible.

In that case, she thought about a different plan to sale the tangerines. She experimented with a couple of fruits and created a thick tanjerine syrup that can be preserved for at least 3 months. By adding a couple of drops of that syrup in water, a drink can be made that have similar taste to authentic tanjerine juices.

So in the end, she pestered Bellemere to try the idea and sell the tanjerine syrup. At first it was not that successful. But fortunately due to her constant bothering, Bellemere didn't drop the idea immediately. After a couple of month of struggle, there business started to grow.

One and half years have passed after that. Now their small business is on their way to become a small industry. Nami has given Bellemere many business ideas and helped her with negotiations and making deals.

Bellemere was not that interested in money. But after seeing the happy faces of her daughters, she continued to work hard on the business.

Now back to present.

Nami and Nojiko are currently getting a handsome amount of berries for their pocket money in every week. And it has been a while since Nami has been tricking Nojiko to get extra money during the division of barries.

For her future plans, of course.

Nami has no intention of staying in the conomi Island. In fact she was intending to leave the island as soon as Arlong pirates shows up. As long as Bellemere has money, Arlong won't kill her and Nojiko. Injuring and bullying her because of her former Marine status was not impossible. But atleast, he shouldn't kill her.

That was the thing. Nothing is certain when you are weak.

Anyway, she was taking away Nojiko's share of pocket money by tricking her, since it was the only way for her to save money. She can't steal from others. She didn't wanted to steal or demand any kind of money from Belli. So Nojiko was her only way.

"I am not going to apologize. Every time you gave us money, you told us to share. You never told us to do it equally. And besides, Nojiko only wastes her money on buying fancy clothes. She doesn't even buy extra meat or fish ! So I don't see any problem in taking away on the money." Nami defended herself.

"....Is that so ?" Belli's face become expressionless for a moment until she started to smile again. But Nami knew better. That smile was the sign that the situation has turned very serious and she should seriously apologize right now.

But this time Belli didn't give her chance to apologize.

"What a convenient logic you have found for taking away your sister's money. You are really very smart. I should praise you. How about I reward you with extra training ?"

It was the first time instead of cancelling their training, Belli was rewarding her.

'Fuck ! Did I piss her off too much ! This is not going to end well. I have a very bad feeling for this training.'

"Hey, Belli ! I I am very sorry ! Can't you let me off the hook for this once ? I promise that I will give Nojiko the minimum necessary amount- I mean share our pocket money fairly." Nami started to squirm like a little germlin under the grip of Bellemere.

She was a lot more stronger than the canon Nami. In fact, she might be the strongest kid under ten, in their entire Island. Due to stable sources of food and protein, her body has developed quite well. But the exact same can be said for Bellemere. So she was in her physically peak condition.

So in the end, Nani had to take, a beating of her life from her adoptive mother. And worse, all the strikes, delivered by belli somehow landed on her butt cheeks.
