Rendesvouz

Nikki accepted her fate of being alone for the evening. She already did her night routine after finishing the wine. However, instead of falling asleep as she thought she would, she tossed and turned and ultimately got out of bed after a few minutes of trying to keep her eyes close.

With a sigh, she sat in front of her television and had a movie going on. Yet, she wasn't even watching it. 

Leaning against her couch, she blew out a sigh. The wall clock hanging on top of the tv monitor informed her it was already past 12. She should be soundly sleeping by now.

With her hands, Nikki covered her eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" She asked no one in particular, staying like that for a good minute or two before the sound of an opening door got her to sit upright.

When she saw Jacob walking towards her, his expression tired, she received him with open arms. He crushed her in a tight hug, dropping his head on her shoulders.
