Chapter 28: PIERCED WITH MANY NEEDLES
After going to his room, Atharv poured himself a drink sat in balcony. He couldn't digest Pradeep hateful looks and his words kept repeating in his mind.
Atharv was not able to understand what he had done to Arthi that made Pradeep hate him so much. Pradeep used to love him always came to him when he needed his help and advice. Suddenly everything stopped five years back when he went to London for his studies. Since he was also busy in his studies and work he never paid much attention to it.
Tonight was total roller-coaster ride for Atharv first he was late for the party and then his car broke down. When he reached the hotel the party was almost over, he got know about Arthi.
Initially he was surprised and very happy about Arthi`s sudden appearance. He was just sad and disappointed since he couldn't see and talk to her.
When he remembered Pradeep words, he thought about one thing that how he stopped calling him and even never acknowledge his presence when they meet.
So he was sure that Pradeep had knew where Arthi was since he was in London. If Pradeep`s hate towards him was due to Arthi, that means Arthi also hates. As per his knowledge he never did anything to hurt Arthi.
Why would she hate him?
Just the thought of Arthi hating him, he was not able to digest it. If she really hated him what he should do? Thinking about that he felt someone him pierced with many needles one by one, in order to make it a slow kill.
There were lot unanswered questions whom he should seek for answers. Everything was just a big puzzle which needed to be solved.
He remembered one thing how Arthi started to keep him in distance during the break before exams. Whenever he tried to call either it went unanswered or her mom replied she was busy. She never even replied to his messages or mails.
So Atharv thought that Arthi was stressed due to exams and ignored it. He wanted to offer his help if she worried about exams.
Atharv also wanted to confess his feelings and love for Arthi. He thought he would do that after exams, so she can concentrate on her exams. But suddenly Arthi disappeared from his life as if she never existed in his life.
When Atharv asked about her to elders everyone just shrugged and said she went to some other place for studies. But they never mentioned where she as or which college or even what subject she had chosen.
When Atharv asked for Arthi again and again, elders scolded him and asked him to concentrate on his studies instead of always asking about Arthi. Even after many years when he couldn`t find out anything about Arthi. He even hired a private investigator to find anything about her, but never got any results.
Atharv even remembers the fateful day, just before their exam how he stumbled around and heard the horrible truth behind Arthi`s father death. He wanted to call his friend check about the cricket match timings picked up the landline in Dixit house heard Ramesh talking someone about accident, driver, blackmail, money and murder.
Initially Atharv wanted to disconnect the call but he got curious when he heard those words it caught his interest since he was fan of crime novels. Atharv ended up listening to the whole conversation and got know about the truth behind Arthi`s father death. That it was not just an accident, but a well-planned murder.
Ramesh: I need you to find out where that bloody driver is as soon as possible. How dare he threaten me the Ramesh Nayak?
Other person: Boss we are trying to find out, but he is hiding like rat. We are unable to find him.
Ramesh: I don't care how you find him or how he is good at hiding. All I need you to find him, and get the proofs which he claims of having it. How dare he double cross me? He is seeking a death wish.
Other person: When we find him what we should Boss?
Ramesh: Check what kind of proofs he has and burn that with him. He wanted to blackmail me with it, He doesn`t know who the real Ramesh Nayak his? I`ll not live him alive.
Other person: Ok boss.
Ramesh: Once you find him contact me immediately. No one can come between me and Dixit property.
Other person: Yes boss. Boss do we need to do anything to deal with the girl and her mom. What if the driver as already tried to contact them?
Ramesh: No need to worry about them just send some men to observe them from far. They doesn't seem to know anything, already my kids are making that girl life hell by bullying her. Her mother seems to be busy in work and is unaware of the facts happening her girl`s life.
Other person: Ok boss, I`ll send some men to monitor them. Anything else you need us to do boss?
Ramesh: As far nothing just take care of this matter now.
After their conversation ended, Atharv slowly placed the receiver back and went out. What just he heard? Had shocked him to core, his whole body just went numb. He just dashed out of Dixit house, without thinking anything.
