Chapter 22: Cursing his luck

Here Atharv who had long forgotten about the Dixit grandpa birthday party was very much immersed in his work. Since his phone was in silent mode all the calls went unanswered.

It was almost 7 pm when Shruthi couldn`t reach Atharv, she had called Sanjay to enquire about her son. Upon knowing that he had not left office yet she asked Sanjay to remind him about the party. After the call Sanjay goes to Atharv`s cabin and knocks, knowing it's Sanjay he calls him inside....

Come in Sanjay, Today`s work is almost complete you can leave now. I will be leaving after completing this documents.

But Sir, your mom just called and asked you to remind you about the Dixit`s party.

Checking time on his watching Atharv takes his mobile to see indeed there were many miss call from his mom, dad and sister.

Atharv sighs closes the file places it on table gives couple of instructions to Sanjay. Standing up from the chair he takes his coat and bids bye to Sanjay and leaves his office.

Atharv rushes to basement to his car and starts to drive towards the hotel where the party is held. Suddenly his car starts trouble loses balance since it was wobbly he barely manages to park it beside road near footpath. Coming down to from the car he sees that one of the front wheel was punctured.

Scratching his forehead he takes his mobile to call Sanjay to ask him to send in other car. Since he forgot charge his mobile battery was already drained, now he had no way to contact Sanjay or repair services he locked his car.

Seeing that time was already past 8.30 pm, he decides to find a taxi, so can hitch a ride. After waiting for some time still not able to find any taxi cursing his luck he starts to walk. Walking for few minutes finally a taxi stops, seating at back he gives driver the address of the hotel.

Atharv borrows taxi driver phone and calls Sanjay to inform him about his car. Also asks him send the driver at the hotel after half an hour since already late he is just visiting here to wish Dixit grandpa on his birthday.

Around half an hour later Atharv finally managed to arrive at the hotel he paid for the taxi and got down from it. He was about enter a car passes by him he glance over it and sees Arthi`s mom in the back seat sitting with another lady around same age as her sitting next to her. In passenger seat there was man sitting who same age as his father. He knew that Rathi is not allowed to attend any functions of the Dixit family, but why did she come today who are the people with her today.

Maybe they had called her today shaking his head he was about to enter the hotel he bumps into a Sid who was talking to his driver. Sid and Atharv both apologizes at same and they move.

Here Arthi was in the lobby with one of their business associate Akash who was also waiting for his car. Seeing Atharv moving towards the party hall the Akash excuses himself from Arthi moves towards him to greet him...

Hey man are you here for the party, your late man the party is almost over.

Yeah I know Akash I forgot about the party and was busy I didn't remember till Sanjay remind me. While I was rushing here my car tyre got punctured, my phone battery died, I hardly managed to catch a cab to reach here.

But you missed so much in party man, I never knew Mr. Dixit announced his granddaughter has his successor.
