Sitting in the living room, Soo-Min was fiddling with her phone in her hands as she waited for something to happen, "Don't you think princess should've been back by now?" She curiously asked Ha-yoon who was sitting beside her.
"Don't worry about her, I'm sure she's safe... though, Whatever is keeping her busy must be important which is good for us, since your friend hasn't arrived yet...I wonder why they're late? I thought you've organized everything yesterday." Ha-yoon said.
"I did...let's hope it's nothing serious, maybe they just dealt with some traffic." Soo-Min replied.
"Can't you check with them? Also So when these friends of your friends arrive, what they're gonna do exactly?" Ha-yoon asked.
"Obviously they are transporters, I happen to make their acquaintance years ago, I was glad to know they're still in business, and just like their job name implies, they transport about everything in their truck, luckily for me even people." Soo-Min replied.
"So they're gonna take your sister and her driver somewhere?"
"They're going to another friend of mine, someone with a huge favor to return and a need for some extra cash.
That friend lives in another city, and owns a storage unit."
Surprised, "That friend of yours just agreed to keep two live people inside their storage unit?!" Ha-yoon asked.
"It's not going to be the first time they had a human locked away like that, in fact that's literally their business, it has been that way even before they left Korea."
"So they're Korean too?! I'm sorry but you know somebody who's business is keeping live people locked-up?!" Ha-yoon asked with bugging eyes.
When you're an assassin you know a lot of things, and a lot of people.
Sometimes we didn't kill targets right away, especially ones who are withholding information we need, so we keep them hidden somewhere until it's their time...
The friend with the storage unit used to work with us back in Korea, but when the police started getting suspecting them, they left the country...and i helped my friend do that." Soo-Min explained.
"So that's why, you help them leave the country and they owe you for it." Ha-yoon said earning a nod from Soo-Min.
"This is a difficult business and it's difficult to find clients too, so when I arranged for everything, my friend was very happy to help, they need money after all and I have plenty of it, I could keep my sister and her driver locked-up for a year if I want to." Soo-Min replied.
"But your sister is a professional too, won't she be able to escape? especially now that she's going to be too far away from your reach?" Ha-yoon asked.
"Don't worry about that, my friend is a professional too, we agreed that I get a full report every single day sent to me about her condition, so I'll be aware of her every move, and in case she tried to escape or do anything suspicious, I will receive a warning about that." Soo-Min replied.
Sighing, "Wow...You know, when you told me you were going to explain everything about who you are and your problem with your sister, I just don't know why but you being an assassin didn't really shock me, I mean I'm surprised but I don't feel like my world shattered!" Ha-yoon said.
"I'm glad you're taking the news well, apparently even my daughter doesn't think her mother's past is weird." Soo-Min replied.
"I have to admit, you don't look like a traditional assassin Noona, you seems so nice and unassuming, but maybe that's your charm.
As for your sister, while she looks beautiful, she also seems dangerous." Ha-yoon said.
"My sister and I, We were different from each other from the start but we got along better than now.
With nothing in the world but eachother, my sister and I were as close as a picture and its frame.
It's kind of weird to think about the past... One thing I'm glad about is that I didn't get too rusty from being a mom these years, at least I was able to handle my sister before Radka found out about her." Soo-Min replied.
Suddenly, "Hey...do you think Seong-min noticed our thing? I mean what happened between us last night?" Ha-yoon asked while slightly blushing, just thinking about last night made her feel embarrassed.
Smirking, "My princess she definitely knows we fucked." Soo-Min replied.
"Oh my God! you're joking right noona!" she's going to kill me! you're her mom? oh God how do I explain this to her?!" Ha-yoon started freaking out.
"Take a deep breath sweetheart! I doubt that she minds!
She would have said something." Soo-Min replied.
"I just really feel embarrassed! Cuz I do think of her like a little sister! I haven't seen my own siblings in a long while, so having someone younger than me that I take care of in the house, felt good for a change." Ha-yoon replied.
"I understand that you left the house because of your parents, but why Did you lose contact with your siblings?" Soo-Min asked.
"By the time I left, most of my siblings didn't have a way to contact me, I was unreachable for a while.
But when I was finally able to try and contact them, I was unable to do that so I figured out that my vindictive parents must have done something, like change their numbers and such...
I miss them sometimes, especially him..." Ha-yoon said, her blush has disappeared and her eyes were now downcast and sad as she recalled her past in her head.
"Who do you miss the most?" Soo-Min asked.
"I had a brother who was like 2 years younger than me, he and I were so strong together, he badly wanted to be a K-pop Idol but of course my parents didn't let him.
Unlike me, he was afraid of going against my parents, he did whatever they told him to do but he was unhappy and so was I.
Then when I decide to leave my parents house after they disowned me, he begged me to stay, he wanted to leave with me but knew he couldn't because he was a minor, so he hoped I would stay a little longer with him until we can both escape.
But the truth is I couldn't handle my parents anymore, and my brother was so weak against my parents I had no guarantee that he would actually dare to leave them behind if I waited more for him.
So I left him behind knowing very well, that I might never see him again...his name is Ha-joon, Kim Ha-joon." Ha-yoon explained.
Surprised, "Ha?! what?!" Soo-Min asked.
Puzzled by her reaction, "What's wrong with you?! why do you look surprised?!" Ha-yoon asked.
"Oh!...nothing! Nothing, I just happened to know someone with that name, a friend of mine actually...with that same name but I doubt it's your brother." Soo-Min replied.
"That's a funny coincidence, but I can understand, Our family name Kim is very popular, it's almost everywhere in Korea and my brother's name is also a very popular one." Ha-yoon said.
"Right...Anyways...oh I think my transporters friends arrived!" Soo-Min said checking her phone.
...Meanwhile...
"And here's your cake, I made tea instead of coffee." Jin said as he laid everything there on the coffee table in the living room.
Radka barely reacted to him or the cake, Rushil has managed to bandage her cheek, but was unable to get her to talk at all.
"Thank you, you're a life savior Jin." Rushil said relieved, "You're welcome, I hope you'll enjoy it, I'll be going to the kitchen to clean the mess I made." Jin replied smiling politely.
But before he could leave, "Why don't you sit with us? have a piece yourself?" Rushil suggested.
"That would be nice, but I don't like to eat when Niko isn't around." Jin replied.
"Maybe you should wake him up, it's about time he wakes-up anyways." Rushil said.
"I don't know about that." Jin replied.
"Trust me, if you tell him there's a chocolate cake waiting for him, he won't mind waking-up." Rushil said with a strange look on his face that was far from lighthearted.
It became clear to Jin that Rushil wasn't just being polite, he was insistent on them to join him and Radka for some reason.
"Okay I'll go to get him." Jin replied and quickly went to where Nikolai slept.
...Few moments later..
"Niko?" Jin slowly opened the door, he was somewhat delighted that Nikolai was actually awake and sitting on the bed, with the doll sitting in his lap.
That meant he doesn't have to feel guilty about waking Nikolai up.
"Hey there! You're up!" Jin said while approaching his boyfriend.
But the closer he got the worried he get, Jin realized that Nikolai has probably just finished an episode of crying as his face seemed wet and puffy.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Jin said gently, he sat besides Nikolai on the bed and took his hand in his.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to worry you." Nikolai replied sniffing, "Nonsense Niko? Tell me, what made you cry? Did you have a nightmare?" Jin asked.
"I...um...well, why is my life like this Jin?!"
"What do you mean?"
"For years, since I was born...my parents have been lying to me about who they are, hiding an entire double life from me...Julian hid Cyrus from me, you also lied and hid stuff from me Jin!
Then my mentor John did too and even Andrea...everyone that I've ever loved or let into my life, have betrayed me at some point...in one way or another."
Jin could feel his heart sink within his chest, Nikolai was right, even he lied to him at some point, and his words reminded him of the promise he made to Cyrus that he wouldn't tell him about what they've talked about.
"Hey Niko..." Jin said in a whispery like manner, "I'm sorry for my part of your pain, I promise you that I won't be hiding or lying to you anymore, in fact...there's something I want you to know about, but it can wait a little, until you calm down."
"Whatever it is...just tell me now..." Nikolai replied.
Sighing, "Very well, I think I was right to suspect Julian didn't kill himself, turns out Cyrus also believes that, he Said that he Can confirm it once he finds Flint's missing tablet which apparently that asshole used as a journal of like a notebook about his cases." Jin explained.
He suddenly felt worried as he noticed the lack of reaction in Nikolai's face.
"Niko?"
"Let's go..."
"Huh?"
"Let's leave Jin." Nikolai said, "You want to leave your parents house?" Jin asked.
"No...the entire town." Nikolai replied.
...Meanwhile...
"Thanks for all the help Seong-min, and you too Cyrus." Moses said to the shorter two people that were diligently helping him set-up a yard sale.
Outside the big old house, Seong-min was squatted on the grass, painting a sign for the sale event using a piece of cardboard and some old paint can, while Cyrus was setting-up the boxes that Moses was bringing from inside the house, on the tables they've put outside.
Julian was nearby, sitting on a child-size chair by the open garage, with a small toyish looking plastic children table in from of her as she was busy coloring her panda coloring book again, with her headphones on, she didn't care what her father and his new friends were doing.
"You're welcome Moses!...Aaaaaaand I'm done! The sign is ready!" Seong-min said cheerfully as she got-up and brought the sign to Moses and Cyrus.
"Wow! Your handwriting is pretty!" Moses exclaimed, "Thanks! I'm an artist after all!" Seong-min replied grinning.
"Meanwhile there's me, a law graduate with an atrocious doctor like handwriting." Cyrus joked making them laugh.
Everyone that I've ever loved or let into my life, have betrayed me at some point...in one way or another.
