"Is it planned?" Kayden asked as he pulled upward the knot of the stitch with the tweezers. He cut the tread and carefully pulled the broken stitch away from the skin. Once again, he was the one treating his cousin because his cranky behavior was scaring away the nurses.
"What do you mean?" Azrael asked, feigning ignorance. Knox excused himself saying he'd visit a friend, so Azrael agreed.
Now, inside Kayden's office was only him and the doctor. Kayden crumpled his face at the fake innocence. He cut a strip of medical tape and put it over the wound before wrapping Azrael's palm in gauze again. "You know damn well what I'm talking about. Your phone kept ringing but you never answered. You didn't even let Diva enter even when she visited you. You're acted as if you know who we'll turn to if you keep your stint. Gosh, Azrael, you're so childish. You could have called Knox directly, why pretend like you're dying over some cuts?"
