METAMORPHOSIS

I arrived at the house and Alex was sitting down, looking at the garden from the swing.

I walked closer to him then called him, he didn't respond.

I went closer but he just stood up and walked away.

I tried again a few minutes later but he still ignored me.

He changed since then. He was more quiet and didn't get into trouble, but he also never talked or ate.

We got worried about him but he shut us out.

I had never been so scared for him until when he stopped getting into trouble.

He also became milder to Alexa, he didn't bother her, but didn't talk to her either, now his secret was out, he could drop the act.

Alex was sulking on the balcony in his room when he sensed a blob appear.

He looked back to see Alexa, holding a tray of food with a smile.

He then asked,"Alexa, what are you doing here?"

"You didn't eat breakfast so I just wanted to bring you something."She said.

He chuckled then said,"Thanks."

"Alex, you have to stop."

"...what?"

"This, you were mean to everyone then said you had feelings for your own sister and after she inevitably rejected you, you lost all your life, I want you back, my brother back, not a boyfriend, not a crush, not a bully, but a brother, please?"

"...I...I can't lose my feelings for you."

"I didn't say you had to... I'm just saying, you have to move on."

He nodded then hugged her.

Since then, we saw a change in Alex. He was nicer to everyone, though he was still a little rude and hot headed, but he also had a vocabulary suitable for children his age, he didn't stop liking his sister though and didn't stop acting weird and jealous, but, he was acting better since then.

He also got better in his training, with his performance accelerating everyday, soon, he was learning faster than I was.

I celebrated my seventeenth birthday only with Anneliese, I wanted to spend quality time with her, as I hadn't done in a long time...I had missed her.

The blue giant, over ten lightyears away started to lose its fuel, the last of its lighter elements were being fused to form heavier elements, the star was doomed...

Alexa had taken Squeakers for a walk with Alex but I made sure Trevor was with them so Alex wouldn't try anything extreme with her, they also went with two of the servants.

I was spending some quality time with Anneliese while my parents were having the first alone time they had had in years and were patching up what was worn out between them, as in matters pertaining to Alex.

A woman squealed right in front of the kids then said to the servant who was an African,"Your kids are so cute!"

She started pinching their cheeks and Alexa giggled while Alex frowned.

She pulled back her arm when she got really cold but then looked at Trevor with the maid who was Caucasian then said,"And aren't you one handsome fella?"

Trevor smiled confidently then she walked away after being told that those weren't the servants' children.

They took Squeakers to the park where a large German shepherd started sniffing it from all angles then started barking as if it was rabid and bit right through it.

Alexa was horrified till Squeakers twisted his neck back to the right place and the skin inflated like a balloon, then its almost invisible irises glowed and it let out a huge screeching roar then the dog ran away, tail between its legs.

Alex was actually impressed when Squeakers returned to its original self and made circles around them with water while hopping and making its high pitched barking sound.

They got to a pond in the park and it hopped in and started swimming while squirting water out of its mouth like a fountain, then it submerged.

Alex sat by the water, making waves with his light and got slightly jealous when he saw how close Trevor was to Alexa but tried to keep his feelings to himself.

Eventually, Squeakers climbed out of the water with a mouth full of algae and hydrophytes, offering them to Alexa and Alex who declined.

It was confused as to why they wouldn't accept such a delicacy when it always saw them eating similar things at the elevated area they ate at, so it tried again.

This time, it brought a couple of frogs.

That just disgusted Alexa, which made Alex happy, then he took the frogs and started chasing her with them, but Trevor had enough and defended her from her brother.

Squeakers still didn't understand why they were using the frogs so differently, they ate them and enjoyed them when they had a certain aroma, but not now.

It tried yet again, this time, bringing up a mouthful of small fish fry.

Alexa seemed to understand its gesture by now so patted it then brought out a sandwich and ate it then offered it some.

It was confused as to why they didn't want to eat what it offered but wanted it to eat what they offered.

It swallowed the fish then sniffed the sandwich and looked at Alexa.

She smiled and took another bite, right before offering it to it again.

It was about to take a bite when Alex snatched the sandwich from her hand and dropped it on the ground and stomped on it then said,"Now it's a sandwich, want a taste?"

"Alex, stop it."She said.

"Aww come on, you were eating it before."

Then he smeared it all over her face and dress and immediately Trevor knocked him down and they both fell into the pond then started fighting.

Alexa tried to stop them but Alex made a wall of ice to block her, he was clearly enjoying this.

Alex did a kip up to his feet and smirked while wiping the blood off his lip. He then said,"Is that all you've got lover boy?"

Trevor yelled then attacked again but Alex dodged and kneed him in the ribs right before blasting him to the wall with water.

Alexa screamed for them to stop, but Alex was just getting started.

At that moment, the servants just came back from where they went and were horrified at what they saw.

They ran and jumped over the wall then injected Alex with a light dimmer solution.

He was furious now that he was powerless, but Trevor was just as furious, because he didn't get to kill him.

The servants split up on their way home.

One took Alexa and Trevor to the hospital while the other took Alex and Squeakers home.

When my parents found out what Alex had done, they realized, he was back to his old self and there was nothing they could do about it...
