LEAVING

I was burping Alex one day after giving him some milk while my mom rested when he started to cough.

I turned him over then started pressing his chest but it was getting worse, he was choking!

I yelled to myself, filled with fear then yelled for my dad, but I just remembered he had gone to the camp.

Just then, I started to use the water in the milk to make it move out of his trachea then he finally stopped coughing and I let out a sigh of relief.

I had been so terrified.

I walked into the master bedroom to put the now sleeping Alex down.

I continued using my Hydro Boom to whisper a lullaby to them from several meters away.

They slept by my mom and the three of them looked so angelic as they slept.

The general fetched a clear glass of vodka and took a sip then said,"Nice job kid, but soon enough all your efforts will be futile..."

I was sleeping when I heard the twins crying.

I ran to see what was whether they were in trouble or not then saw them wrestling in the crib.

I picked Alexa and placed her in a different crib then went back to bed.

I didn't sleep long when I heard them screaming again.

I groaned as I sensed Alex was somehow in Alexa's crib and they were fighting again.

I carried Alexa and rocked and sang to her until she fell asleep then placed her with her mom, then took Alex to my room and did the same, but he was sleeping with me.

By the eighth month of their birth, I realized their true eye colours.

Alex's eyes were bright sea blue, like mine and my dad's, Alexa's on the other hand, were plain brown.

I tried to show the same amount of love to her as I used to but it was hard, especially since Alex reminded me and my dad so much of Alex.

I often found myself giving all my attention to Alex and letting the maids handle Alexa.

I just loved Alex so much and wanted to give him everything in the world so often used my salary to buy both of them gifts, though Alex's gifts were usually more.

My mom was breastfeeding Alexa one day and I was playing with Alex and calling him baby names when a wall exploded with my dad flying through.

He landed on his back and rolled backwards to his knees using the momentum then looked at me, barely conscious. I heard his thoughts and knew they were after me.

' They? ' I thought.

Three people walked in through the hole in the wall, two women and one man.

Immediately they turned their gaze to me, my dad blasted all of them with three separate jets of water.

My dad yelled for us to run but my mom didn't want to leave, so I controlled her mind and body to make her do just that.

I Hydroteleported her back to the camp where there were enlightened people to keep her safe then went back to the mansion as fast as I could.

One of the women choke slammed my dad into the ground, hard and I got angry.

Before they could react, three blunt blocks of ice grew beneath them and hit them into the air.

I ran to my dad to check on him.

He coughed then asked in a barely audible voice,"I...is your mother okay?"

I placed his palm on my cheek then said,"Yes, she's fine, now heal yourself, fast, because I'll need your help."

Then I blasted water to the chlorine vapour which had been blasted at me.

The chlorine mixed with the water and made a pH 2 I blast, sending the corrosive hydrochloric acid towards them.

They dodged the acid then one of the women stretched her arm then mine went out of control, again.

I couldn't focus on them without my own hand that kept trying to strangle me, so I eventually had to disobey the saying,' Do not bite the hand that feeds you. "

I bit my hand, hard then it seemed to snap out of its enchantment, then I blasted a huge fireball at them but they simply ran through it.

One of the women stretched her arm and it travelled several meters then her fingers became like daggers and I did back handspring to dodge her Finger Nails (as I called her blade like fingers) from skewering me into the ground.

I then froze her hand to the ground and I could feel the frostbite as she screamed.

I then did a double front flip which made water spin around in a circle, twice, then I kicked and it blasted with great pressure.

The second woman wasn't able to block it with a shield of wind and flew backwards.

The man then ran towards me and dodged all the blocks of ice which abruptly grew around him then he jumped and clapped then the building started to collapse on me.

I couldn't leave my dad so did the first thing that came to my mind; I strengthened my arms then held up the blocks, holding them together in a ball of ice.

Just then, my feet slipped for some reason and I fell when gravity became too much for my legs.

I fell but surprisingly, the ice cemented debris didn't collapse on me, rather, it floated then went higher.

I strained myself under the extra gravity to look up and saw the man carrying the building without effort.

' Show off... ' I thought angrily.

He threw it up and it flew into the ocean.

He slowly walked to me with a face devoid of emotion then picked me by the collar.

I then blasted water at his nose from my eyes, anything to make him let go of me, but it was just a squirt, even when the water was a lot, he reduced the force of the water.

He was dragging me away when he was blasted away by a huge volume of water.

I turned back to see my dad, who was back on his feet, but still not totally healed.

He then said,"Let go of my son..."

The man got up again, so as the first woman and the second finally got her hand out of the ice.

They were about to move when my dad did the same thing he did back at Bright Academy, making a large volume of water come down like a pillar and spread right above the ground with great pressure.

They tried to block the water but it still hit them hard.

A tall block of ice grew behind each of them, making them break through it and add to the damage. They didn't get up again.

My dad fell to his knees, very weak and I ran to help him.

He said in a very weak and coarse voice,"I'll be okay son, but I know these people aren't going to give up anytime soon."

"So?"

"You have to leave, go somewhere safe, where no one will find you, to the Monster Hunter headquarters."

"What?! No! I can't leave you guys, not again."

"I'm sorry but that's...(he coughed) the safest place out there, it's your only choice."

"No, we can't, what if we let whoever wants me to catch me then I sabotage his or her agency then we've gotten rid of them."

"I'm sorry, but it's too risky, too much could go wrong."

"I can't leave, please..."

"Felix..."

"Please..."

"Felix just listen."

"No, I'm not..."

"Felix! You are leaving and that is your father's command!"

I had no idea where he got the strength to shout like that but it really got to me.

I had to leave soon and even though I knew he wanted the best for me, I was a little angry at my dad, mostly because we could think of other ways out of that muddle.

The base was in the ocean, which specifically, I don't know, but it was underwater.

It was about twenty leagues below the waves, amongst the fishies.

There was a system which allowed people to get in but didn't allow water. The entrances were composed of glass tubes with two doors.

The first door allowed the person and water in, but then the water was evacuated out before the second door was opened.I could breathe underwater so I had no problem going there.

I was greeted by a short and formally dressed woman with light red hair and blue eyes.

She welcomed me and told me that was my new home and I didn't like hearing that.

"I'm going back soon, right?"I asked.

She laughed then said,"You're funny."

Then without answering my question, walked away for me to follow.
