Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

HYDRO BOOM

I was making a donut of wind rotate and turned it into a small vortex. Then I took a deep breath and made a dust devil a little taller than myself, that was as far as I could go, but was pretty impressive.

Franklin was all criticism and skepticism but I didn't care, I knew he was just jealous, and of course, I made him pay for it.

He did his 10th push up with me sitting on his back and was drenched in sweat, then he said,"I'm done."

"Good, time for your twelfth intense exercise."I said.

He groaned.

I was in the bathtub, while listening to the newest song released by my favourite South African musician when I realized something, there were waves in the water.

' But what is causing them? ' I wondered to myself.

I looked closely and saw a thin and dim blue glow in my irises.

'... It's me. ' I realized.

I wanted to hear how it sounded so I removed the air pods and sunk into the water then realized...it was the same song.

I came out surprised and could actually still hear the song in the air, using my water vision.

Then thought,' If I can make waves in water, and can hear whispers from far away due to the waves in the water vapour, can I make waves in the vapour too? '

I wanted to test my theory so stretched out my arm then snapped my fingers then a loud booming sound echoed which shattered the glasses in the room, and probably my ear drums.

' Eureka! ' I yelled to myself.

There was a knock on the door and I responded then heard Cody ask,"What was that noise?"

"Uuuh, nothing."I said.

Just then, Junior said,"You've been hogging the bathroom to yourself for thirty minutes, it's my turn!"

' Yeesh. ' I thought.

I got into my bathrobe and walked out then gestured to him and said,"The room is all yours."

"Thank you."Junior said sarcastically.

He locked the door and yelled,"Hey! What were you doing in here?! There's glass and ceramic everywhere!"

I ran to the closet and pretended I didn't hear him.

I continued practicing my ' Hydro Boom ' as I liked to call my latest invented sub skill.

It worked because I caused the water vapour in the air to contract like air does when sounds pass through it and create rarefactions to make transverse waves, it was simple Physics.

I was able to make a lot of different frequencies, but not at once, and I could make it loudest of 93 decibels, which was actually impressive for my level.

After I won the 6th most powerful student in class 3 when he was leveled up by his emotions, many students started challenging me to duels, because they knew that winning the best student in class 1 will make them cool in front of everyone.

How desperate are they?!

Can you imagine, teenagers and adults, challenging a 7 year old to battles, to look cool, wouch, their lives are sad and pathetic.

I actually felt a little sorry for them.

Of course I had to keep my winning streak, yet keep my new sub skills secret, I only used them in front of Franklin and my roommates.

I wasn't able to accept all the duels as I had other things to focus on like school and training, and the ones I did accept were in an order of 1st come 1st served, unless the ones behind the 1st were of higher levels then my craving for a good challenge would take control.

I won all the twelve matches I was in in 2 months, which set my winning streak to 19.

I never wanted to duel my roommates, they were my closest friends in Bright Academy, if I won them, it could break or greatly change our relationship.

Through all my duels, my favourite and most challenging one was one against the 3rd best student in class 3.

Her name was Portia Chidinma. She was a Nigerian Teleporter.

Her abilities were actually better than I thought. She had a whole lot of Teleportation skills up her sleeves.

She could make two special portals, called Grey Holes.

They were named after the union of a Black Hole and a White Hole.

They did basically the same thing as their celestial sisters, just at a much lower scale.

The deeper coloured hole sucked in objects, unlike normal portals.

The lighter coloured ones blew out objects from the black hole.

They were both spherical and could be really far from each other.

She had another skill called Magnifier Portal.

She made a portal and made the exit portal of a different size, due to the laws of Physics, this should be impossible, and the books had no explanation for this, but the opening portal actually changed the size of the object that went through.

She could make anything bigger or smaller with this process.

The last skill she used was teleporting helpful things, like migrating wildebeests that she hoped will trample me to death.

I couldn't hurt them, mostly because I loved animals and never watched any movie—which had no certification of animals being safe—twice.

Her only weakness was that she revealed her skills too fast and had to repeat them during the match, this made me prepared and able to defeat her.

I went to my room to wash up and looked into the mirror for the first time in a while then widened my eyes.

' Since when was I this tall?! ' I yelled to myself.

I looked at myself again, seeing I was several inches taller then ran to my roommates and asked,"Do you realize something different about me?"

"Your eyes are glowing."Jason said.

"What?! Ugh!"I yelled.

I took a deep breath to calm down and asked again.

Junior said,"Uuuh, you let your hair grow longer."

"What? I just cut my hair three days ago."I said.

"Doesn't look like it."He said.

I frowned and touched the back of my head then felt the thick hair on my scalp.

I gasped and pulled a few four inch long strings of hair to my face.

I yelled,"What is happening to me?!"
