DARK AND LIGHT

Principal Blythe wanted only one thing, revenge and she didn't know what told her exactly where to find the General, but she did and he looked shocked to see her.

She asked,"Missed me?"

He shivered slightly but then cooled his nerves and said,"I see you still haven't aged even when you cheated death."

She walked closer to him then said,"But I don't think you'll have a second chance."

"Let's talk about this Phyllis, you do realize something amazing just happened, we have a second chance, why don't we use it wisely?"

They didn't know that this conversation was a result of the combat between chaos and order but Principal Blythe held his collar then took a deep breath, being able to smell even the slightest concentrations of gases, she could tell what cologne he used even before he was arrested.

He then smirked and asked,"You like what you smell?"

"Maybe I do, why did you ask?"She asked.

"Because I taste good too."He said, smirking.

She then smiled as she kissed him passionately on the lips and he dropped the syringe in his hand, Death had won in the outcome, but Life had won on the state of their existence, so it was a stalemate.

The girl was walking to her next class when she smelled fear, how she loved the smell of fear.

She followed it and it got stronger the closer she got, it was intoxicating.

She got to the source to see a boy about her age...size, she remembered him from the class she operated on and also remembered that he had an acute asthma, so he had to stay away from virtually everything, despite this, it wasn't the asthma that she was going to use to kill him, neither was she going to do it recently, but several decades from then.

She just decided to leave when he said,"I saw what you did."

She turned to him as he continued,"I saw you, you made Micah to get hurt, but how? And why?"

She was shocked, how had he seen her? Not even Life himself could see her when she was invisible, that was a form of chaos she had used for thousands of years.

There was a red glow in her eyes as she held his neck and he struggled for breath.

She was just about to end him there and then but remembered it wasn't his time.

She let go of him and said,"Don't meddle in other people's business."

He was struggling for breath but she just wanted to have a little more fun so said,"Boo."

He screamed and she fed on the fear and chaos in his mind as he struggled to get his inhaler, he was suffocating till she offered it to him and he snatched it without a thought, but before he could say thank you, she was gone.

He got out from the Janitor's closet and asked her,"Why did you save me?"

"I merely postponed your eminent demise "She said coldly,"...why are you following me?"

"Uuuh...I thought you just wanted company."He said,"And I want answers."

She turned to face him and looked straight into his eyes then said,"I am the literal embodiment of Death, Chaos, Darkness and everything unholy and evil, are you sure you want to keep me company?"

He was silent for a second then spoke,"You aren't as bad as you or people think, because even if you are death, why did you save me? Why haven't you killed everyone in this school, in the world?"

"Because of my opposite, Life."She said flatly.

"Or maybe it's because you don't want to, like you actually don't want to hurt anyone when there isn't the need."

She was silent and slightly shocked, no one had ever analyzed her like that before, but hid her emotions as he continued,"There's good in you, whether you may be Death or Darkness, you just want there to be...balance."

She frowned at him then turned invisible and walked off but he continued trailing behind her till she stopped and asked him again,"How are you following me? How are you seeing me?"

"Irono."He shrugged.

She then let out a sigh, he wasn't letting her go that easily, but she turned and left then he asked where she was going and she said,"I have work to do."

She then glanced from a window, where thousands of kilometres away, a man was riding a skateboard down a staircase railing, while drinking boose, to make a jump over the next flight of stairs.

The girl blinked then he tripped and fell to his side, badly hurting his arm.

The boy asked what she was doing then she said,"I just made someone want to quit skateboarding, are you sure there's good in me?"

"Did you make him quit for the sake of the pleasure or did you do it to protect him?"He asked.

She glared at him then stormed off, but he continued following her...

She then turned back to him and asked,"Do you want to die earlier or do you just want to annoy me?"

"...I just thought you needed a friend."He said, a little scared but very determined.

"I literally destroy everything I touch and look at, you don't want to be my friend."

He hugged her tightly, catching her off guard as he said,"I do and you really needed that."

Then he left...

Life walked into his class and all eyes were on the kid with the big kids.

He quickly became the teacher's pet as he answered tough questions like no man's business and had this aura which kept all the students disciplined, even when he wasn't around.

Life was in the playground when he sensed a girl falling from the monkey bars.

He blinked and she was able to do a 180° flip and landed perfectly on her feet, unharmed, she and everyone thought that move was cool so she went to try it again, this time Life couldn't act in time because that pest- Death made her sprain an ankle, but Life wasn't giving up that easily.

He went closer to her and touched her leg and her foot immediately rearranged, leaving all the spectators awestruck, so as the medics who just arrived.

He also removed that and any other risky idea from her mind so she'd be safe and when the other students asked him how he did that, he told them everything.

All the students then wanted to hang out with the abstemious child more and made him do petty tasks for them like get their parents a raise, or fill their piggy banks to the brim with money so they could get their hearts desires, or make everyone forget that they put their underwear in the freezer just to make it cool and comfortable.

He also placed their minds in order, totally ending the debate between thoughts in their minds and removing all self destructive thoughts so Death didn't get a foothold.

He also brought back to life all their loved ones and felt touched to the heart when some saw their dead mothers or grandparents for the first time.

Bringing back the loved ones who deserted them, even at the expense of their new spouses and families, because he gave the new families new fathers or mothers, he restored order and loved the essence of joy and tranquility, it was like a drug to him...
