A GENERATION OF MULTI HUMANS

I was confused as to what she wanted but she had a bleak expression on her face.

She took the phone and so did I.

She then spoke,"My daughter thinks this isn't a just punishment for you, she wants you in front of the firing squad."

I just nodded, totally agreeing with her daughter's wishes, then she said,"But even I know that the trial wasn't fair. People can't treat you like trash because they're jealous of your abilities, and I've checked up on you, you are a prodigy Monster Hunter who dedicated his life to keeping the world safe, and the only living creatures you've ever killed are rogue monsters, but only when you had no other choice, so why did you do that to my son?"

I was quiet for a few seconds before speaking,"As I said during the trial, I had just found out something about my father which made me angry at myself, that was why I had dug up his grave, when your son tried to shoot me, I just lost it and attacked him, but soon after that, I was overwhelmed with fear, that's why I didn't help him."

She seemed to be considering something right before she said,"He did try to shoot you, but only because he thought you wanted to destroy a grave, since he was an undertaker, he thought it was his responsibility to stop you, but he wasn't going to pull the trigger."

I felt absolutely stupid for what I had done till she continued,"You are just as guilty as he was, that's why I will help you get out of here."

I widened my eyes and asked if she was serious and she nodded.

I couldn't read her mind, so had to take her word for it. I was going to be free soon and with Anneliese again...

The woman worked with my mom to bail me and soon, I was a free man.

Anneliese ran into my arms and I lifted her up then hugged her tightly as she cried.

I went home and Alexa stuck to me like glue, I loved it when she did that.

Squeakers was really excited when I came home and jumped onto me, barking and rubbing its face on mine, and I rubbed its cilia.

Alex seemed indifferent by my arrival but I didn't force him, Trevor on the other hand, couldn't suppress his joy and neither could I.

I resumed my job as the principal of the camp but was not allowed to be a Monster Hunter for a few weeks as a punishment, though I was really important to them.

Soon, Anneliese and I got married and went for a month long honeymoon, without Alex to burn the hotel alive.

We went all around Africa for our honeymoon.

First to Ghana, then to South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Madagascar and the Seychelles.

We returned and Anneliese's family, so as mine, were absolutely delighted to have us back and made sure we were aware of how much they had missed us.

We also decided to stay in my old mansion for a few years after we got married, not because we didn't have enough money, but because we knew Alex wasn't ready for me to leave and Alexa would have missed Anneliese.

The beam of light had completed half of its journey and was becoming brighter in the night sky...

A year later...

I was twenty two and was still much younger than all the Monster Hunters in my division, which was the highest of all.

Anneliese was twenty one and was three weeks pregnant with our first daughter who we hadn't agreed on her name yet.

Alexa couldn't stop placing her head on Anneliese's belly, hoping to hear a kick.

She, Alex and Trevor were eight at the moment.

A television displayed the news as a woman sipped some coffee.

Anneliese and I were displayed as a headline as she grinned...

Anneliese woke up and wanted to wake her husband up as well but couldn't find or sense him anywhere.

I immediately appeared then greeted her and kissed her lightly on the lips.

After that I placed some food down, breakfast in bed.

Alexa yawned then saw the two of us, feeding each other and sharing jokes then smiled and went to get ready to go to the camp.

As the months passed, Alexa got even more excited to meet her niece, but Alex couldn't care less about her arrival.

The day our daughter was born was the best of my life, never had I ever loved someone more, other than my wife.

She was the most beautiful baby girl I remembered seeing, looking exactly like her mother, with the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen.

The centres of her eyes were dark brown, which gradually changed to yellow then green, before there was a blue rim which made about half of the area of her beautiful irises.

I had never seen eyes like her's before and no one else had and at that moment, I knew she was unique.

A doctor who specialized in lights and shadows told us that her eyes looked like rainbows because of a rare natural phenomenon where a child inherited both parents' lights called intermediate dominance of alleles.

Which was where both alleles of the parents were neither dominant or recessive, so they were both expressed in the offspring.

Such a child was called a Multi Human.

It was almost impossible but became far more possible when both parents were from the same tribe.

A tribe was a way of grouping lights and their corresponding shadows according to the similarities between them.

Not only that but also, different lights in a tribe usually had the same gene mutated, just in different ways.

There were six known tribes;

Hydrogenes, which included H 2 Orders, Stone Breakers and Hurricane Lads, the tribe was named so since all three similar lights have hydrogen as a fundamental element in them.

Elementals included Atoms, Metalads and Non Metalads, they were named so because they controlled elements one way or the other.

Briads which included Braids and Brauds. They were named by the union of the two brightness' names.

Space Time Contihumans included Teleporters and Chromosapiens. They were named by a pun union of their species and the aspect of the universe that they controlled.

Homotion sapiens, they included Enforcers and Mechanics. They were named by the union of their scientific name and the basic unit of their light, locomotion.

The doctor said it was because the two of us were of the same tribe that she got those amazing features and had the potential to be far more powerful than the two of us ever could be.

The genes were the same so none was dominant, nor recessive, so they both manifested in her and it was just by sheer luck that this happened.

I couldn't be more proud of my little child.
