CHAPTER 6

Xavier was late for a meeting at his company, but the rest dared not question. Today is the date day between him and Roxy.

Xavier had to review some of the proposals from other companies and had his assistant do the rest.

He went over ongoing projects and told the people in charge of the projects the areas needed for them to work on, and also gave the app developers team a deadline to come up with an idea for upgrading the apps made.

The meeting was over; he sat in his office as his assistant went over his schedule, telling him to cancel some of the plans to create space for him.

"Boss, your attention is needed on the other side," His assistant said.

"Just tell me what happened," Xavier said.

"Two of them escaped," His assistant said.

"The people of Alexander?" Xavier asked, and his assistant nodded.

"It seems like we have to fish out the traitors in our camp; they have crossed the line," Xavier said; the assistant felt chills.

"I will leave now to pick up my date and handle the rest," Xavier smiled and left the office.

They arrived, and Xavier escorted Roxy inside. The restaurant was beautiful. It was a French restaurant painted with bits of gold; the lights were dim, and the dining tables were round.

As they entered the restaurant, the maître d' greeted them and led them to their reserved table with a beautiful view of the city skyline. Xavier pulled out Roxy's chair for her before taking his seat.

The waiter approached them and gave them the menu. Roxy looked at the menu, and her eyes widened. The prices were expensive, even the cheapest was expensive.

*I want to order this expensive steak, and would you look at the chicken lap; I feel like taking a bite out of it, damn you, Elsa. * Roxy thought.

"Isn't this expensive?" Roxy asked Xavier.

"Yes, but it's worth it," Xavier replied.

Roxy nodded and closed the menu. She didn't want to order something expensive, so she went for the cheapest on the menu.

*Elsa, you need to fucking change your habit, * Roxy groaned internally.

Xavier noticed that Roxy only ordered the cheapest on the menu, and he asked her why. Roxy told him she didn't want him to spend much money on her.

Xavier smiled and told her that he wanted to treat her. He said he wanted her to feel what it's like to be a lady and be treated like one. Roxy blushed and thanked him. She then changed her order to a more expensive one.

The waiter came over to take their drink orders, and Xavier ordered a bottle of red wine for them to share. As they waited for their food, they engaged in light conversation about their day and catching up on each other's lives.

Xavier couldn't help but admire Roxy's beauty in the dimly lit restaurant. Her crop top showed off her toned stomach, and her jacket added a touch of sophistication to her outfit. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her by his side.

"I thought you didn't like this type of clothes," Xavier asked.

"I don't like it, doesn't mean I don't wear it," Roxy said.

"That's true," Xavier said.

Their food arrived, and they enjoyed a delicious meal, savoring each bite.

They talked and laughed, and they had a great time. Xavier showed her what each utensil was for.

Xavier could see that she was having fun; she never experienced this kind of treatment before.

*Is he for real; teaching me is romantically awkward. I just wanted to pretend I didn't know etiquette so he wouldn't catch on* Roxy sneered.

After an hour of eating, they left the restaurant, and Xavier drove them to a park. They walked hand in hand, and Xavier told her stories about his childhood. Roxy listened intently; she felt like she was learning more about him.

"It would have been better at night, but I have things to take care of," Xavier said.

"Hey, thank you for tonight, Xavier. I had so much fun." Roxy said.

"I'm glad. I had fun." Xavier replied.

"I think we should get home," Xavier said, taking to the car park where the chauffeur was.

They got home and had a nice bath. It wasn't up to twenty minutes when Xavier left the house.

Roxy put on a maxi skirt and long top; she sat on the edge of the bed, going over what happened in the restaurant.

*I slipped; If Xavier plays dumb, I will have to rush, but what if he questions*

Xavier got to the other side; this is where underground business happens. It is like a sanctuary for the poor. A sort of community, outsiders aren't welcomed unless you talk with the head.

Xavier was escorted by his most trusted guard immediately after he got to the gate. He entered a building that led to the underground; the guard took him to the cells where they escaped and examined it.

"Bring the traitor in," Xavier commanded.

One of the men brought in a man who looked terrified and was shaking. Xavier recognized him as one of his own, his assistant.

"This is ridiculous; why didn't you run when I gave you the chance to?" Xavier chuckled.

"What do you mean? they just attacked me out of nowhere," The assistant said, confused.

"Don't give me that bullsh!t" Xavier's eyes narrowed.

Feeling fearful, the assistant decided to spill it out, "I-I'm sorry, sir. I-I didn't mean to betray you,"

"But you still did anyways," Xavier said.

"I'm sorry, sir," the assistant eyes were teary.

"So boring; I knew this was going to happen the day you decided to win my trust," Xavier stretched his body unbothered.

"Tortue him till he spills everything out; I hate people who use or deceive me," Xavier said, walking away from there.

"Sir, please, I am sorry, don't do this to me," his assistant cried out.

"So loud," Xavier mumbled.

Xavier sat in his office in that building when someone just barged in.

"How is our boss doing," Kai said, sitting in front of him with a fruit.

"What do you want?" Xavier asked.

"Can't I visit you?" Kai asked.

"I feel something is wrong with Elsa," Xavier said.

"The girl you like?" Kai asked, and Xavier nodded.

"I wanted to give her space by not telling someone to trail her," Xavier said.

"I will trail Elsa," Kai suddenly said.

"Don't let her find out," Xavier said.
