Easy to coax.

"Is there something you think I should know about, Miranda?"

She pretended she didn't hear him and walked towards the kitchen which made him red with anger: "How could she ignore me in such a manner?" he asked himself silently.

"No, I don't think there is." She stopped and looked at him uncomfortably. She bit her lips unknowingly.

Her lips were red and the shape was beautiful. She looked alluring when she bit her lips. He stared at her lips without knowing why and thought of how they tasted the day he kissed her.

It was soft and sweet. He savoured the memories slowly occupying his mind, but he quickly forced the thought out of his mind.

"Miranda, I'll give you one more chance." He asked her again and tried his best to hold back his anger. He looked at her intently. The way he looked at her got her scared and a chill stole over her entire body.

"I don't know what you are talking about." She ignored him again and turned to leave.

However, he moved faster than her. He grabbed her wrist so tightly that she frowned and looked at him with so much pain in her

"Richard Fuller, you're hurting me," she begged in a low voice.

"Really? You know it hurts? I thought a woman as strong as you do not know what pain is," He said coldly, without letting go of her hand.

"What do you want, Richard?" She shouted as she tried to wriggle her hand free from his grasp.

"Are you pregnant or not?" He asked as he released her hand a little, but he didn't intend to let her.

"No, I am not pregnant." Her voice started to crack in frustration. "Wait here!" She went into the bathroom.

Coming out of the bathroom. She said, "See? Two columns mean positive, and one column means negative. These are all negative."

She squeezed her eyes shut and took a deep breath for control. "I know you despise me and you didn't want to abandon me." She felt a little crestfallen with this whole situation with Richard.

For some reason, Richard's fist clenched. It was the first time he had seen her in such a helpless state. Her usual bright dark eyes suddenly lost their luster. Such a look stabbed into Richard's heart.

There was silence for a moment. Since he was so quiet and chose to not say anything anymore, Miranda turned around and went upstairs.

-------

The next morning Richard saw Miranda eating breakfast and chatting with George.

George was the first to spot Richard, who was standing upstairs. He grinned and said, "Brother, you're awake. Come down for breakfast.

He replied, "I won't have breakfast."

With that, he headed off to work.

"What?" Miranda asked, glancing at George.

"He might be angry but he's easy to coax. This would be over that quickly. Just apologise." A suggestion from George.

Huh. She never wanted to do that! She never wanted to talk him into something. She ignored his ridiculous suggestion.

Later that evening Miranda arrived with two bags full of groceries she got from the nearby supermarket. She dropped the bags on the floor straight away and turned the TV.

She paused her movement watching a special news report. The news was about a famous jeweller.

"Jewel Jewellery" Jewellery studio by Kimberly was opened today.

Miranda knows Kimberly as Levi's friend. She was a powerful figure in the jewellery design industry. Her work was respected internationally as well.

Kimberly should have been the focus in her stunning red strapless fishtail dress, However, Miranda couldn't tear her gaze away from the man at her side, Richard.

She switched off the television and started unpacking the boxes.

Miranda was working on her laptop in the living room when Richard arrived. She was thinking of greeting him, but she chose to ignore him.

Richard wanders his eyes around; the dining table is empty. The kitchen has no trace that Miranda was cooking. She even ignores him.

Richard glanced at Hailey, who continued typing on her laptop.

Before Richard took the first step of the stairs, he muttered. "So, you want me to deliver some dinner?" Fury was written all over Richard's face.

Hailey restrained herself from raising a brow. She replied timidly, "I thought you had dinner with Kimberly. So I just fixed something for me."

"Miranda, Are you jealous?" Richard sat on the sofa. Miranda remained silent without soaring a glance at Richard.

Richard took a cigarette and lit it up in irritation, trying to calm the burning rage. After taking a puff, he blew out a circle of smoke and narrowed his eyes. "So, you want me to deliver some dinner?"

"Yes, please" She replied.

Out of nowhere Richard grabbed her wrists and threw her to the sofa. She plonked on it while rubbing her wrist. Her brows knitted together in displeasure.

With a stern expression, he tugged his collar and loomed over her. There was no warmth in his eyes.
