Chapter 2

Early the next day

Wilhelm and Charles donned their uniform which was just a pretty version of the military dress uniform

The jackets, shirts and pants were black

The ties varied on Colour based off of what class you were in.

A had gold ties

B had Silver ties

C had Bronze ties

D had Dull green ties

E had purple ties

F had Red ties

G had Orange ties

H had yellow ties

I had brown ties

J had black ties

Now the ranks and course in each class was classified by the medallion worn on the jacket

Science wore a medallion in the shape of a card

Martial wore the medallion in the shape of a fist

Those in both courses wore 1 for each

The ranks would be signified by the ribbon the medallion hung from

Ranks 1-3 in each class had Dark red Ribbons

Rank 4-10 had silver ribbons

Ranks 11-25 had copper ribbons

Ranks 26- 50 had white ribbons

Now with Charles ranks he wore a gold tie the Science medallion with a White ribbon and the Martial medallion with copper ribbons.

Looking over at Wilhelm he saw only the Martial Medallion with the Red ribbon

Once both were prepared, they began to walk together to their homeroom

Though they were flanked by guards in the hall way

Entering Martial A class, the air was tense looking to the cause it was seen that the prick Joseph sporting a white ribbon martial medallion was glaring at another young man with blonde hair sporting a silver martial medallion.

Deciding to stay out of it Wilhelm and Charles parted ways

Wilhelm sat with his cousins Hadrian and Elizabeth who both had red ribbons in the back of the class

Charles sat in the middle of the room at an empty table.

After a few moments the boy that Joseph had a fight with sat beside him

"Hello I am Martin Gallows."

"Nice to meet you I am Charles McAlpine. Where are you from?"

"I come from Alberta, my father is a land lord, and you?"

"I come from Cochrane and we farm, what do you mean by landlord? Just renting out houses?"

"No, we rent out houses, farmland, and hunting grounds for monsters. It is a very lucrative business."

Charles could not help but shake his head at the fact that all his classmates were loaded more than a goldmine.

"So, what were you fighting over with that prick earlier?" asked Charles

"Ah, I mentioned who I was and through a fit over our land rates going up for research buildings."

Before the two could continue to talk Chelsea the sister of Joseph walked in and sat on the other side of Charles so the table of three was filled

"It is nice to see that you made it in, and sorry about my brother again" spoke Chelsea

"He is your brother?! I feel sorry for the trouble you will experience over the next three years." Laughed Martin

Chelsea simply hung her head in shameful fear.

Charles simply chuckled

Soon the Instructor walked in

It was a stocky 40-year-old man

"Good morning, students, I am Instructor Tyr. I will be your home room for the next 3 years."

He continued after a brief pause

"All of you in A class are the elite of this year, so I do not have any fears you will not obey my instructions. Anyhow for the First week we will go over Canadian history after the Box was discovered. Please fill out this short quiz so I can see your understanding"

Saying so sheets were passed out

There were 25 questions in relation to recent history such as when monsters started forming, when the first card was made and others like these.

Shortly everyone finished their quizzes and handed them in

Instructor Tyr who must have a mental card quickly viewed and marked all the quizzes in less than 5 minutes.

"Good you are all knowledgeable of commonly known history. Now we will start on History not so well known in regards to international cooperation."

Before the discovery of the box the U.S.A was the biggest and most active country in the world, having the biggest army and having their fingers in every country around the world.

After the Box the USA began reduction of external trading and cooperation centering most of their funding on internal development with seemingly no interest in interacting with even their neighbours like Canada or Mexico.

On the opposite end of the spectrum

Russia, North Korea and China have created an alliance

Shortly before the discovery of the Box Russia conquered Ukraine with heavy losses to its population and military equipment

20 years after the box over a 60-year stint after the box discovery China invaded Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

After this war, Russia began training more troops for a professional army and sent a few divisions along with Chinese troops to aid North Korea in conquering South Korea during the early 2120

By 2130 Mongolia folded with a small show of force to the Russians.

After 2135, China, Russia and Korea focused on stabilising their newly conquered land and recovering their lost resources

The countries of Europe became concerned of the potential threat and began stabilising ties between each other

The Austro-Hungarian empire minus Italy, Romania, Poland and Ukraine was reestablished in preparations for war with little pushback from the corresponding countries.

And even to this day the borders are changing with wars occurring in the Arabian and middle east countries.

With this influx of information Charles head was swimming

Having grown up in a frontier town he had little interest and a lack of information in other countries besides Great Britain and other commonwealth.

Looking over at Martin who was furiously writing notes

He saw many areas circled with question marks like Africa Countries? Japan? Who will be invaded next by Russia and China?

Charles thought these were some good questions

After a few minutes he and the rest began to rise to head to the next class

This was Practical combat

Going to the training yard they were instructed to stand with the people they sat with in Homeroom

Hearing this Charles, Chelsea and Martin stood in a group

The royals Wilhelm, Elizabeth and Hadrian in their own

Joseph stood with Henry and a new guy Joshua.

The instructor introduced himself

"Good morning, Students of A class, I am Instructor Churchill, I will be in charge of your Practical Combat classes."

"I have you standing in groups of three. This will be your unit. You will train in this unit for the next two months doing many tasks together in all of your classes not just combat. After the two months two units will be paired into a Squad, but be aware that you will not be able to choose the second unit for the Squad."

"Now currently none of you are dressed for training but after today please come prepared in armour and bring your weapons."

"Now, I would like you to start introducing yourselves and please tell me your name, where you are from and what kind of fighter you are such as support, ranged, melee?"

The groups then began introductions

Duchess Elizabeth- London and ranged elemental

Duke Wilhelm- Frankfurt, speedy close ranged elemental

Prince Hadrian- London, Elemental swordsman

Chelsea- Toronto, water caster ranged but also healing

Joeseph- Toronto, fire swordsman

Martin- Calgary, ranged but can fight with sword

Charles- Cochrane and melee.

Joshua- British Columbia, waterswordsman

Richard- Nova scotia, ranged support playing the pipes

Bors- Yellow knife, Icey axeman

Hans- Winnipeg, AOE war hammer

Miyuki- Victoria Island, speed swordsman

Hector- Toronto, Area buffing archer

Jean-Paul- St Donaht, Intelligence close range with short sword

Liam- Newfoundland, Spear with enhanced speed and air element

Ceilidh-Sarnia, poisoned archer

Willow- Sarnia, nature element range

Rowan- Regina, sand elemental

Matthew- Edmonton, can throw stones that explode

Ryuji- Toronto, Lightning spearman

George- Chatham, Ranged insect summoner

Wayne- Windsor, close ranged enhanced strength

Robert- Trenton, Lightning and earth close range elemental

Brandon- Montreal, Ice mage

Margaret- Kingston, ranged Vocal attacks

The rest continued to give their introductions

With these introductions instructor Churchill left them to become acquainted with each other
