Chapter Five: The Anderson family

"Son, are you, all right?" a lady in an A-line sweep brush elastic full-sleeved white dress, walked towards Alexander who was having his morning breakfast. She had her brunette hair in a slick middle parting style and her slim fair arms were locked with a man beside her. Alexander raised his head and locked his eyes with a Scandinavian blue eye that had been looking at him with obvious worry.

Putting down his fork and knife, Alexander wiped his mouth with the napkin, "what are you doing here?"

Having her worry ignored, she slammed down the chair closest to Alexander and pointed at him, annoyed, "You have the cheek to ask me that, huh? If not for the butler informing me about your fever last night, were you intending to hide it from us? We are family and you are my son. Can't I worry about you and visit you?"

"don't flare up. Your blood pressure will increase." Alexander responded nonchalantly.

"You!" his words angered her till she turned red about to explode.

"Calm down honey. He's a grown-up now and such fevers can cause him no harm. You should know better the training he went through to inherit our ledge." Finally, the man who had been silent the whole while spoke up. His striking black hair and his pitch-black eyes excluded a powerful aura showing off mighty power from that of the supreme family. His facial feature showed slight similarity with Alexander together with his hair color.

The Anderson family is one of the ancient families in the world and the most powerful of all. Their main holding is in the underworld and business world. They are connected to military and politics in many ways. As a member of the Anderson family, Alexander was made to undergo intense training before taking over the holding of the Anderson family. Due to tough competition among other members of the Andersons from the young generation, Alexander underwent many life-threatening assassinations. This was the reason for his separation from everlynka back 15 years.

Alexander continued with his breakfast ignoring the couple. "Get to the point. Why are you here?"

Already used to his attitude, Jackline who goes by Mrs. Anderson got to the main topic, "In one month, there will be a banquet organized by the Jackson family to welcome back the young master, who had been studying abroad for the past 5 yrs. You will be representing our family."

"The Jackson family has been a prestigious family with as well as with a lot of mysteries surrounding them. It is weird for them to hold a banquet. Fine, I'll think about it." Said alexander

"Also take Vivian with you. She isn't familiar with this city." Added Mrs. Anderson.

"Mhm," that was all he responded before heading back to the files that were beside him.

"aren't you leaving?" Alexander looked up, seeing that his parent hasn't left.

Seeing his sophisticated son, the couple could do nothing but leave him be. As soon as they stepped out of the mansion, Alexander went into deep thinking, trying to figure out the main reason behind this gathering, the Jackson family was kind to rarely interact with people so far hold a banquet.

He picked up his phone and instructed," Investigate the Jackson family as deeply as you can.

He was about to put his phone down when a message popped up. "Alex, it's been a long. Let's catch up." it was from Vivian. Mrs. Anderson had given Vivian his number so that they could contact each other. Having studied together, Alexander treated her like a close friend.

"Sure, why don't we meet at our usual place." It was a club where all the friends gathered together after many days of separation."

With that, he continued with his work.
