She lay beneath him while looking into his eyes as his gaze made it difficult for her to look away. "What are you doing to me Jade?" He asked in a hoarse voice while savouring the sweet fragrance emanating from her body.
Jade was now regretting why she had waited for him to return so that he could give her the news about Lydia. "I am sleepy." Came her words but Alvin did not listen to her. He sensually moved his hand that was on her lower back and held her inner wrist while giving her gentle strokes. Jade who had never been touched like that looked more nervous and her breath became rugged which encouraged Alvin to do more. His hand moved upwards while caressing her arm until it reached to the nape of her neck. When Jade closed her eyes, "Your heart is beating so loudly my dear,,it makes me think that you want me as much as I do." Those words brought Jade into her senses and she quickly opened her eyes. When she tried to push him away, Alvin held her hands singlehandedly and inched more closer to the crook of her neck where his sinuous lips touched her there making her take a sharp breath. His touch was light but it evoked feelings that she never knew of setting her skin ablaze. He peppered light kisses on her neck until he reached her earlobe and nibbled it lightly which made her quiver and seeing her let her guard down, he finally got up and sat next to her.
Jade quickly got up and rushed to her room without looking at Alvin who watched her calmly.Locking the door, Jade leaned against it and closed her eyes while trying to calm her heart which drummed against her chest uncontrollably.
When Jade got to bed she kept on tossing and turning. She had started to question her identity because of the way her body had started to betrayed her.She had to get out of here as soon as possible, before the walls of her self control would collapse. She thought.
*********. ********. ******
In the morning, Alvin joined people in the dining room alone and everyone at the table could not help but wonder if he had discarded the young woman who had accompanied him the previous day. Everyone was present at the table apart from queen Elisa who was still angry because of the way she was humiliated. The duke's daughter had also invited herself and she sat next to Celine and when Alvin walked to the head table, everyone bowed their heads.
The king seemed to be in a delightful mood as he took a glass of blood that was served by an old servant. "Angela, I thought you would be going to Savan with your father. He was telling me that he has found a suiter for you there." Alvin started a conversation which did not sit well with the duke's daughter as she had an eye on the king. "I don't think he's the man for me your highness. I want to marry out of love and not arrangements." She said trying to indirectly give him the message that she wanted to marry him. "Becoming a spinster is also not a bad idea, considering how marriages are falling apart nowadays." He told her, not so subtly which made her face flash pink out of embarrassment.
As the breakfast was about to end, the butler walked in and whispered something to Alvin who immediately got up and left.
"When did she wake up?" He asked the butler who followed closely behind him. "A few minutes ago, and she has refused to talked to anyone. Do you think they tampered with her memories?" Albert asked as they walked through the empty corridors that headed to the guestrooms. "Let's find out." Came Alvin's short words as he opened the door where Lydia stood in front of the large windows. When she heard footsteps, she turned around only to see the man who had been interrogating her and another man whose face looked familiar.
"I told you I don't know anything." She said with a frustrated voice. All that Lydia could remember was that she was on her way back home when someone hit her head really hard that she fell unconscious. Alvin who had planned to get into her memories had a change of plans because the girl looked frail. He would have to wait for her to regain her energy. He thought.
Lydia couldn't help but stare unblinkingly at the man who did not even give her a second glance. She had seen him before but she couldn't remember where.... "He_ he was the king. She finally remembered. Her father used to visit Avianna a lot, and there was that one time that he came home with with a large portrait of him, his brother and a man who was younger than them in the middle, who her father said was the king of Avianna. Her father had kept that painting in his room as it was one of his invaluable treasures which he did not want anyone to mess with.
Standing in front of him, Lydia didn't know what to say or do but the man did not seem to care about any formalities. "Albert, get her something to wear and eat. She's too weak right now." Saying that, he walked out of the room leaving the butler and stunned Lydia."Madame, do you need anything else?" The butler asked and Lydia shook her head as an answer. "Once I leave this place I will make sure that I tell Jade about my short stay at the palace." She thought with a smile. Now that she remembered her friend, she started to worry and wonder whether Joseph went to look for her. "This girl makes me worry always!" She thought out loud with a heavy sigh. Maybe the king would help her as he did not seem to be a bad person. With that thought, she went to open the door whereby a young maid walked in.
