"Are all members of the royal family gifted?" Jade asked curiously. Though she had taught in the royal school for a whole year, she literally knew nothing about the royal family. It was not easy to get any information about the king or even his family members and now that she could speak to the king, she did not see the need to hide her curiosity. "No." Alvin replied. "But you....then how did you..." "How did I get this abilities." Alvin interrupted jade. "Apart from witches, vampires and humans there are other creatures but only a few people know about them. I told you I was given these abilities by the sea goddess." Alvin said as he recalled when he was seventeen.

"Alvin please wake up.....wake up... ALVIN!!!" It was his friend Albert who was calling him as he had fainted near the sea shore. Alvin who got up after Albert splashed water on his face severally sat upright with a look of confusion. It was the third day that he had the same dream but now it confused him because he had passed out during the day and he still had the same dream. Now that he was wide awake he vividly recalled the dream. "Don't touch my daughter Nicholas! She is innocent. Don't drag her into this mess." A woman who was holding her daughter said fiercely. Though she was sitting on her knees, she didn't show fear as she held her child tightly. "That child you are holding Gloria, was the biggest mistake that you committed. You knew very well that this was going to happen. I have waited for nine whole months for you to give birth and now that the child is right here, all I want is to retrieve what you stole from me. Don't look at me as if I am a saint and as if I would change my mind. Maybe I should kill you first...oh..no..no I want you to watch me torture this child of yours until it's last breath while you can do nothing about it." The man named Nicholas said with a smile of satisfaction. You are not that useless after all because you brought her back and once I get all the four elemental abilities, I will not only rule the five kingdoms but also this sea that you and your filthy family live in...." Alvin did not know how he was able to see all that and as he moved closer, the eyes of the woman named Gloria started to glow such that it was difficult for him and the other man to see and with the little strength that the woman had, she pushed a dagger into the man's chest which made him fall on his knees. The light that had been illuminating the place reduced and the woman's eyes turned normal.

"Please help us." The woman said and as he walked towards the woman, he heard someone calling him. It was Albert who was calling him which made him open his eyes.

Even after trying to ignore the dream that he had been having, after a week his dream became a reality. He had gone to the beach for fresh air when he saw the woman named Gloria with her clothes soaked in blood and there were four bodies lying lifelessly on the ground. "Please help us, child I don't have much time left, they....." On turning around, Alvin saw three heavily armed men coming towards them. He could identify one of them. It was his uncle; King Gregory. "Was he also after the so called elemental abilities?"He asked himself. Alvin knew that his uncle's greed had no bounds he wanted to rule the whole land and if someone was a hindrance to his plans, he made sure that he would eliminate them.

Alvin took quick steps towards the woman who was hugging her child tightly and squatted so that he could talk to her. Though in pain, the woman shakily held Alvin's hand and closed her eyes and tightened her grip which brought a blue light in their intertwined hands. When she finally let go of his hand, she handed the baby to Alvin, who was totally confused and worried because he could hear the king and other two men closely approaching. "I have entrusted my daughter to you son, and you have half of my abilities right now. Make sure that you take her to the border, you will find a man waiting for you at the mouth of river Seent and he has a ring like the one I have. Give this child to him." The woman said as hurriedly as she could. "But what about them I can't leave you here, they will kill you." Alvin said as he tried to hold the baby properly. " Don't worry about me, they can hurt me, but they can never kill me. Now please close your eyes and think about river Seent....please be quick."When Alvin closed his eyes and did as he was told, he was already at the mouth of river Seent where he saw a man with the description that was given by the child's mother.

It did not take long for Alvin to reach where the man was who had a blank expression on his face sat on a large rock. "I was told to bring her to you." Alvin said since he could tell the man knew he was sent there. "Thank you boy. What is your name?" The man asked as he stood up so that he could take the child into his arms. "Alvin." Alvin replied without giving much details and the man did not react. "I should get back now. I have something that does not belong to me." Alvin said only to be stopped by the man. "There is no need, you won't find her there. Once abilities are given, they cannot be returned. And I can tell that she gave you her abilities. Make sure you use them for greater good boy. I know my wife saw something good in you." The man said and walked away without any other word.
