BSWS CH-39 The Chunin Exams VII - Orochimaru Arrives

"Uzumaki?"Sakura said while putting enough excitement to interest Karin.

Interested in Sakura's outburst, Karin decided to ask, "Yes, that is my surname. What about it?"

"Don't you know about Uzumaki and their connection to the Leaf?" Sakura asked, having successfully initiated the second step of her plan.

"No. Why? What is the connection?" Karin asked puzzled. As far as she knew, she and her mother were part of a very small group with a special bloodline.

They could heal other by getting others to suck their chakra by biting them. Her mother had died when the village had overused her body's ability without letting her recover.

Currently Karin knew very well that she was undergoing the same fate, as the village's only purpose of sending her in this team was to make her give her life force to her teammates.

"Uzumaki were a terrifying and powerful clan. They were related closely with the Senju Clan, who as you might know were one of the founding clans of Konoha."

"Uzumaki had always been allies of the Senju. Even in the First Ninja War, Uzumaki helped Konoha greatly and were pivotal in turning the tides of the War, especially with help of their Specialized Fuinjutsu, in which they had no parallel."

"However, this very prowess of the Uzumaki cause their downfall. During the Second Ninja War, all the other Villages and countries attacked Uzumaki Home, the Uzushiogakure. They also kept Konoha occupied so that Konoha wouldn't be able to send them reinforcements at the proper time."

"As a result, Uzumaki Clan was almost completely eradicated. A few of it remaining members fled allover the continent after disbanding the clan, so that some remnants of the clan would survive. I am sure that one of such remnants were your ancestors." Sakura said.

Karin comprehended all this information with difficulty. She could not reconcile the fact of such a powerful clan that alarmed all the other villages with the image of her frail mother.

Her mother could not even protect herself, when her father did as he liked with her mother and left her with a child in her womb. Her mother, who died while saving the lives of the villagers, and then the same villagers started enslaving her daughter without a moment of shame.

Karin could not take anymore and simply cried in frustration and sadness. Seeing her cry, Sakura gently hugged her. At this point Karin could use a simple hug more than any consolation. Karin hugged her back tightly, desperate for any comfort and compassion she was shown.

After calming down, Karin wiped her tears and thanked Sakura. She then told Sakura all about her life, to explain the reason why knowing about her clan had made her burst into tears.

She told her about the abuse she and her mother suffered and how even now she was nothing more than a tool for her teammates. Sakura then decided to use this moment to seal the final nail on the coffin.

"You know, if you are not happy with your situation in your village, you can actually come to Leaf village permanently." Sakura said.

"Really?" Karin asked, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

"Yes. Uzumaki and Leaf have always been allies. I am very sure you will be allowed to immigrate once your bloodline is proven." Sakura said.

"How will I do that?" Karin said.

"Oh, it is very simple. A simple Blood and Chakra test will suffice. Moreover, your beautiful red hair and enormous chakra pool is like a beacon in darkness that improve your chances of being a true Uzumaki." Sakura said.

Karin blushed slightly when Sakura called her red hair beautiful and nodded. Sakura decided to throw in one more source of information at Karin so that she wont back out of the deal.

"There is one more thing. You might not be as alone as you thought previously. I am pretty sure there in one more member of Uzumaki in our village." Sakura said.

"Really?" Karin asked with her eyes widened in yearning "Who?"

"My teammate Naruto Uzumaki." Sakura said eliciting a gasp from Karin.

"How can you be sure?" Karin asked.

"Well that is true, I can't be sure. His hair is bright yellow blonde. Moreover, He is an orphan and Leaf had made a policy after the destruction of Uzumaki that they will randomly name a few orphans every year with the Uzumaki name to honor our history." Sakura said and saw Karin's eyes dimming a bit.

"However, Naruto Uzumaki has an incredible level of chakra pool, greater than yours even, despite being a Genin. He is also gifted with an extremely sturdy body and recovery ability." Sakura said "Based on that, and the interaction I have had with him, I suspect that he is indeed an Uzumaki."

As she saw the glow come back to Karin's eyes, Sakura continued further, "But most of all, I am a Chakra sensor. Based on my examination of you, I can see similarities in your and Naruto's chakra."

"Those with Powerful bloodlines have a distinct similarity in their Chakra Signature. This is because the very bloodline that grants them abilities, also makes their chakra distinctive. So, if you have even the slightest of trust in me, then believe me when I say that Naruto has a high chance of being an Uzumaki." Sakura said while holding Karin's hand.

Karin was overwhelmed by emotions. With a slight blush on her cheeks and a squeak in her voice, she nodded in agreement. Sakura smiled and grabbed her hand even more firmly.

"Come on, I will take you to my team and you can meet my teammates. I will let you meet Naruto, your last possible clansmen." Sakura said as picked Karin up in a princess carry and flashed away.

Meanwhile, the original Sakura was monitoring the forest with her Chakra sense. She smiled when she saw the interaction between her clone and Karin going well.

Suddenly, she sensed the owner of a powerful and evil chakra, rushing towards them at an incredible pace. Opening her eyes, she immediately alerted Naruto and Sasuke.

"Sasuke! Naruto! A powerful opponent is coming!!" Sakura said as she quickly unsealed and equipped her chained gauntlets. Naruto and Sasuke prepared their weapons too.

The next moment, a great buffet of wind blasts came their way. Sakura swiftly unleashed a thick Earth wall to fight it. Sasuke too helped her by unleashing the same technique by copying it with his Sharingan. Naruto used a group of Shadow clones to act as a living barrier around the trio to protect them from these wind blasts.

This contest went on for a few seconds before the wind subsided. The trio noticed that a large swath of forest around them had been blown away.

From the direction of the wind blasts, they heard a series of slow claps, as if mocking their efforts.

"Well well well," A mocking voice called out "Who would have thought that even runts like you can withstand my attack now?"

As Sakura and Sasuke dispelled the Earth Walls, Sakura saw the other team of Kusagakure, led by the weird woman-like male in the front. Seeing her, Sakura immediately realized his true identity as he no longer had the chakra signature Sakura had put on him during the first phase. Which meant that 'He' was here in the Genin's place.

'Orochimaru!!' Sakura thought grimly in her mind, as she took in his smug look while he walked casually towards Team 7 with his two lackeys in tow.
