Two Weeks Later

I had been thinking about what Kai had said. I was still a virgin but I didn't want to do it with Lloyd until we were married. I found Lloyd training. With his shirt off. I shut my eyes for a minute and then opened them. "Lloyd? Can we talk for a minute?" I asked while thinking, And could you put your shirt back on? Not that I wasn't enjoying the view but it was distracting.

He turned and saw I was uncomfortable. So he grabbed his shirt and put it back on. I sat on a bench and he sat beside me. "What's up?" He asked.

I looked everywhere but him for a minute. "I've been thinking hard about what Kai said these last two weeks."

He sighed. "Y/n, look at me." I did. "I will not force you to do anything you don't want to."

I nodded. "I know. I just wanted to tell you that I want to wait until we're married before doing something like that."

He nodded. "We can wait."

I shifted a little. "Then there's a little thing about my parents."

"What about them?"

"I haven't started planning the wedding but they called me a few hours ago and informed me that they will not be at our wedding. They said they'll be too busy with their new child."

He stiffened. "They don't want to come because of a kid?"

I gave him a dark look. "His name is David and he's my brother. Be nice."

"You haven't met him!"

"That means nothing. I still can care about someone I've never met."

"They could bring him with them to the wedding," Lloyd snarled.

I saw this was really upsetting him. Maybe I shouldn't have told him. I hugged him tightly. "It's okay," I murmured. "I wasn't really expecting them to come because of what I did."

"You didn't do anything," he snapped.

Wow, I didn't think this would piss him off this much. "Lloyd, I quit being a princess,' I said gently. "They hate quitters."

"They're still your parents! They shouldn't cut you out because of that," he snarled again.

I sighed. "Lloyd. please calm down. It doesn't matter that they aren't coming. I love you and would never change what I did."

He stood abruptly. "Y/n, I need to be by myself for a few minutes." He left the room

I watched him go then got up. I went to the wall that depicted all the fights he's fought in and just stood there for a while. It was starting to get dark when Lloyd came and stood beside me. "You've fought a lot of people," I murmured twining my fingers with his.

He squeezed gently. "Protecting Ninjago is what we do."

"I know. Though you haven't had to do that recently."

"Which is why we start being bodyguards."

I nodded. "Did I ever tell you that when I found out you'd be my bodyguard, I tried to get out of it?" He shook his head. "I like being on my own and I thought a bodyguard would screw up my life. But you did the opposite. You made my life better and I would never change that. Okay?"

He nodded. "Okay." He ran his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry I got so upset. I just hate it when someone abandons their kids. Or kicks them out of their lives."

"Is it because of what your parents did when you were young?"

"Yes."

I kissed him gently. "It doesn't bother me that they won't come, I promise."

"But you want them there."

"Yes, but like I said earlier, I didn't really expect them to come."

"You said I made your life better but in a way, I screwed it up."

I blinked. "No, you didn't. I wasn't free when I was a princess, Lloyd. I thought I was but when you came into my life I realized I wasn't. You set me free."

"You died, Y/n."

I shook my head. "I think that would have happened no matter what. Liam wanted me. If you weren't at the ball he would have succeeded the first time he tried to get me."

"He succeeded anyway," he growled.

I moved so I was standing in front of him and put my hands on his cheeks. "Lloyd, I love you. Nothing on this planet can change that." I smiled. "Nothing you can say will change that." He kissed me and I kissed him back. He licked my lips and my mouth slid open as his hands slid around my waist. He bit lightly on my upper lip and then started purring. I broke the kiss. "Dragons can purr?" I asked surprised.

He chuckled. "Yes. I hadn't meant to though."

I thought for a minute then scowled. "You know, I've been saying I love you multiple times and you've yet to say it back."

He smiled. "I was hoping you hadn't noticed that."

"Something else is bothering you. What is it?"

He shook his head. "Nothing."

I frowned. "Liar."

He dropped his head onto my shoulder. "He's back."

I blinked. "Who?" I asked confused.

"Him. Liam."

I stiffened. "How?" I whispered.

He lifted his head. "I don't know. I tore him limb from limb but he's alive. The Comissioner saw him." There was anger burning in Lloyd's eyes.

I started trembling with fear. "Is he still after me?"

He tightened his grip on my waist. "Yes, but I won't let him have you. I promise."

I shook my head. "You can't promise that," I whimpered. I hadn't meant to whimper but it just happened. I hadn't realized the thought of Liam coming back had terrified me so much.

He tilted my chin up so I was looking at him. "Shh," he murmured wiping tears off my face. When had I started crying? "I can promise that. The Ninjag will be helping this time. But, Y/n, if I tell you to run, you have to do it."

"E-even when it m-means leaving y-you?" I sobbed.

He tightened his grip even more on my waist. "Yes." He held me as I cried and when I finally stopped he picked me up and carried me to our room.

"Lloyd!" I whine. "I can't sleep now."

He lay beside me. "Shh, I'm right here. We both need some sleep."

I laid my head on his shoulder and slowly the trembling stopped. "I'm sorry," I whispered.

"For what?"

"Being a crybaby."

"No," he growled. "You're scared, Y/n. There's nothing you need to apologize for."

I snuggled against him and felt myself calm down completely. "I love you." I tilted my head up toward his face to tell him I was expecting him to say it back.

He smiled. "I love you too."
