Bones
The unpleasant fellow had booted my weapons off to the side before I could pull them into the water with me. However, I wasn't in a rush.
I needed to take the blood out of my clothes before a smell developed. His outburst was going to turn into an inconvenience. I just felt it. I rolled my eyes at him. "Do you realize what you've got here?" he informed me in a tense whine.
I didn't acknowledge. I didn't care. He glanced at me while I dipped my head into the water. I realized now this wasn't my home.
So much water in one space just sitting here wouldn't last a second back home. I had never soaked like this before.
The chilled water clogged my ears and sealed them. I could hear his muffled speech above the surface. None of it mattered.
I didn't know how to remain awake, I would shortly rise in the desert. My lungs not being able to hold much longer. I came to the surface to get a breath of fresh air. Even the air here was unusual.
"Are you listening to me" he blared "These weapons you can't just leave them here like this, someone will take them from you!" "Take them" I replied in a frustrated manner. If anyone could take them from me, I wouldn't deserve them.
Regardless, I would just wake up in the desert again. A subtle smile emerged over my face "I don't know what on earth you are speaking about" I said, "but I don't have time for you" I played with the water in my hands. "What are you talking about" he urged me. It didn't matter.
I settled my head back in the water, displaying my body above the surface. Maybe he would drift off. All he did was step across the other side of the miniature spring and stare straight down at my face "What the hell is your problem?"
He stated "You're bathing, injured and dirty; polluting the water we drink. Just collect yourself and weapons that are valuable. Turn and go elsewhere, away from this area." I closed my eyes, perhaps I would perish.
I was looking forward to seeing some sand. Laying in the spring for a moment, I thought maybe this was serenity. "Helllllllllooooo" he grumbled because I wasn't taking notice. "Can you just let me carry out my curse in peace before I die again?" I asked him "you're cursed?" he interrogated my words "how are you cursed?"
I looked at him " I'm not certain. I'm still struggling to figure that one out, for whatever reason I can't go to sleep. I can't die, or I'll restart this day. " Still peering down at me and glancing up towards my belongings.
"I don't know any witches that can sever a curse, but you take that sword you got and snap a fragment of it into your wound. It'll give you a temporary solution if you can bear the outcome" today I was intrigued.
I got out of the spring and covered myself In my wet clothes. Strapping my swords back on, removing the larger out of its sheath.
"I've never been able to damage this." I responded to him while he was still busy looking up into the sky, deciding to be polite. "That weapon you got there, it's created from the bones of a dragon. Some individuals are descendent from Dragons." He proceeded on, "After all the dragons died, humans started producing weapons from their bones that were left behind. Whatever sizes they could discover.
Earliest folk comprehended that if you are of dragon descent, you could crack them with your blood. Hypothetically speaking, if you were to insert it inside your body." I looked down at the tip of my blade. "Why, why would one do that?"
I asked him "To turn into a dragon, the sole reason dragons are endless is that they can become reborn in an aspect of their kin. It has to be a direct line. No one has yet to survive the process…" He carefully completed his sentence.
" So I'm cursed either way" I shrugged my shoulders," I've never seen a dragon before" plunging the tip of the sword into my open sore. My spine wanted to squirm away. The suffering wasn't as unimaginable as waking up in the desert countless days.
My gut twisting before I could throw up. The sword fractured and I peered up at the tip of my ruined sword. "Holy shit." All my life in battle and I had never even scraped it. "Well check that out!" my new annoyance snorted vociferously, "Really wasn't certain that was even going to work!"
My wound closed before both of our eyes. An expression of awe took place over both of our face. I expect something doomed me to become cursed either way.
