Chapter 21 : An Opportunity!

Isagi in possession of the ball changed the positions of both Teams in an exaggerated manner, Team Z players ran forward to receive a comfortable pass toward them while Team W's 2 players chose to man-mark Isagi

Isagi facing two defenders at a time felt their urgency to steal the ball but they weren't reckless, They'd seen the footage and didn't want to be reckless in losing to him

Isagi noticed that they were trying to calm themselves but it wasn't good enough effort, With a few fluid movements, Isagi was breaking through them which again turned their defense into a basic high-pressing game

Isagi using their movement, got away and scanned the positions of his teammates who all were marked by at least one defender, Kunigami had a muscular kid on him to match his intensity, Isagi wanted to break through on his own but remembered something which was needed to be done, Isagi sent the ball on his left

'Did he not notice me?'

Naruhaya had already moved up front, Shadowing in Kunigami's presence to receive a pass from Isagi but it seemed that Isagi didn't notice him and passed to his original position

Isagi however made no such mistakes, It was a gamble and a chance, It was a pass only one player could receive right now, That being Chigiri

Chigiri also saw the ball rolling quite ahead of him, The ball was moving there and the time seemed to have frozen for him, The ball's speed wasn't slow and if he didn't run now, It would go out of bounds

This situation Isagi created for him seemed much more intense for him, The ball in front of him seemed like a hand reaching for him to grab on and stand back up

Also, If the ball went out of bounds, It would mean the death of his Football career, Although it was nowhere near as intense as he had imagined, Isagi was betting on that very attitude

Chigiri's mind was racing with the words said by Isagi in the Video room, His love for Football was immense and that ball in front of him was calling for him

Chigiri without thinking much, forgetting his fear of losing his leg or worsening it, Accelerated toward the ball

Everybody gasped at the speed Chigiri was showcasing, He sprinted from the LB position and bolted to save the ball from going out of the play, He stopped it right on the line and started his run, Although it was shocking Team W didn't dwell on it and got in the way to stop Chigiri

Chigiri with a smile sent the ball on his right to another smiling individual, Chigiri and Isagi performed a one-two and sent it to Chigiri who saw the perfect opportunity to put this in the back of the net

He shot the ball which hit the crossbar and went in, A Top-Right Corner was breached by Chigiri's play, Everybody in Team Z and Team W was surprised by the sudden speedster around them, Isagi and Chigiri high fived each which resonated the sound, and equalled to the intercom's whistle, Declaring Chigiri's goal

"He can run that fast?"

"That was amazing!"

Everyone in Team Z, while some were still shocked praised Chigiri until the intercom forced them to start the play

Wanima twins recognized Chigiri as they were again facing the same player who had taken their position once

The match's pace increased by the intensity of marking Isagi was doing in the Mid-Field, Although his position was CAM, He kept playing it in CM position to intercept every pass and help in offense, The match became one-sided in the end

The 1st half and the 2nd half had no changes in the game's outcome, Team Z kept scoring, In the end, the scoreline was 12-0

It was the highest any team has scored against a Team in Blue Lock, Team W played the entire match like headless chickens while Team Z were ferocious tigers, They played in a bold manner 

Isagi didn't like this match but it had one thing good about it, It was the match where Chigiri broke through his chains of fear and leaped into the intensity of Football

Raichi was happy as he was bragging about his sexy goal, Isagi didn't lose his steak of Hat-trick, Chigiri scored 2 Goals, Kira was locked in and scored a Hat-Trick

Kira got used to Isagi's passes and started relying on them which helped in scoring his first hat-trick in Blue Lock, Bachira scored two while Kunigami scored only one

They all hit the showers, With this win, They have solidified their place in the top two and won't get disqualified even if they lose the next match, The relief washed over them

If winning against Team Y brought them together to celebrate their top spot, Now they had qualified which was more than enough reason to celebrate, Also now they had points to afford the steaks for everybody

Isagi chose to enjoy himself with the team, and Chigiri also joined the celebration in a friendly manner

Team V's Room

All of the members were on the ground making a circle around a bed where one individual was standing, On that same bed there was a white-haired boy who sat on it while playing games on his phone

Mikage Reo, Standing on the bed just declared the celebration for them all by bringing a load of steaks, Reo jumped down and got next to Nagi with two plates

"Hey Nagi, Let's keep scoring goals like these, We have to taste more of this steak"

"You and Zantetsu can do that"

Nagi said without looking away from his phone screen, Reo was about to give any reason to make Nagi work on the field but heard the intercom and looked towards the screen

After the intercom rang, The screen showed the familiar face they had been witnessing for a while, It was Ego

"Howdy, Diamonds in the Rough, The match between Team and Team W has finished with a score of 12-0, Making Team Z the top team in your wing"

Ego said while showing the current standing of all the teams in their wing, Their team was overtaken by Team Z again, When it happened the first time they didn't mind it much since it was only by a goal and they quickly regained the top spot but now the point difference was immense

"Seriously!"

"They scored four goals more than us against them"

Team V, Though also has qualified but Reo just a few minutes ago told them that they are not throwing away the match and will go for the win till the end

"How does it feel to know that the Lowest, Weakest Team of the Blue Lock is better than you, Huh!"

Ego pressed that matter onto the Team's pride

"Your Goal here in Blue Lock is to stand on the top and develop an Ego, To be an Egoist who can rival the Egoists of the World, You're the final opponent Team Z will face, You were less of a loser than them but they have evolved while you stayed the same, Blue Lock doesn't need that,

If you don't go beyond your limits to reach those heights, your Football career is as good as dead"
