A new home?

My eyes slowly moved to a huge billboard with large letters surrounded by beautiful overgrown trees to complete its look.

WELCOME TO SACRAMENTO . I looked down the open road and saw some people walking on the street. It was surprisingly soothing as my eyes continued to gaze at the streets.

The car finally arrived at our final destination, a blue modern bungalow with a clean and smooth driveway surrounded by a neat canopy.

Mother was already waiting at the door, arms crossed and an inviting smile on her face.

I got out of the car as Elder Lucas helped me get my luggage out of the trunk of the car as I watched my mom come to us with a happy look on her face.

"You're finally here... how have you been" my mother said in a familiar tone to Mrs. Tessa.

"I'm good," I said simply looking at the building. For some strange reason, the air and surroundings felt familiar and warm, yet strange.

"I'm going now, Miss Elaine," said old Lucas as he took the luggage out of the car.

"Stay healthy, I'll miss you for sure" I felt sad not to see Old Lucas anymore. He was like a friend and guardian who was with me growing up.

"I'm going to…" he replied with a smile. Having said that he turned to my mother.

"Take care of Miss Elaine, she is a weak young woman." My mom looked at me before saying no, which was embarrassing. "I promise"

Why did he have to say that?

"I hope we meet again" With that he got into the car and backed away until he could only smell the faint smell of petrol.

"Let's go in," my mom said, helping me with my bags as I followed. As I thought, the interior of the house was more beautiful, the interior design was unique and the fireplace caught my attention with the way it was creatively carved, emitting its own light.

"Your room is this way." My mother's voice shook my thoughts as I saw her climb the beautiful staircase.

"I hope you like it. I remember white is your favorite color," she said with a hint of worry in her tone as she opened the door to reveal an all white room with beautiful floral patterns.

"Do you like it?"

"This is Nice."

To be honest, I felt it comfortable and cozy. A faint scent of sandalwood filled the room and gave it a natural scent.
