After saying his good-byes to that old man, he picked up his journey and followed the road heading to the cities.little did he know that he is back in the same road he trailed off from the night before after getting lost.
It was his lucky day because it was a dead-end road leading nowhere. Turning, he joined another, hoping it would reach him someplace before night fell.
The day was fast passing, and hunger befell him. Thankfully, the old man's meal came in handy. Kini sat on a rock to have his meal and to rest a little from his roaming.
The sun has set, as it always does, so Kini has to figure out where to sleep that night as well before it's completely dark. An obscured Bush was right there as he turned to look around. This was impossible."Where do I go now? Do I follow the streets or the murky bush?" walking leisurely along the road as he continued figuring it out, then the sound of a heavy foot step behind him attracted his attention, and his eyes widened in astonishment. 'what's behind He was lost in thoughts and questions earlier and did not realize whether they were there at once or if they were approaching him step by step.Whatever it was, it got him disquieted to the point of making his hair stand. That thing did not move for some time, and he could definitely feel its presence right next to him.
What to do, what to do,what to do," he kept telling himself. He slightly nodded, then stepped forward by two steps and turned in a flash. What his eyes set on was something he could not have imagined: 'him! He is here?""This son of Adam" was his inner voice,"You!" He said Now the man in front of him replied with a smirk on his face, noticing how pale he nearly got just now, "Did I apprehend you?"
A heavy sigh was followed by Kini's answer, and he continued, "Why are you going back to the east? I thought you were going north, west, or even south," he said without a break, and the man standing shakes his head suprisingly, looking in sides, not wanting to look direct at him, as he asks, "Is this how you talk to a stranger,so free and expressive?" It's obvious he was astonished by this behavior.
Looking at Kimi from head to toe as he continues, "Do you even know anything?"
The man is the conductor of the bus Kini boarded a day before; it seems Kini had joined the right road this time after all. Now he can't figure out why this man is here in the opposite direction they were heading yesterday when they dropped him.
"It's like they say: Kimi cuts through the words, spreading his hands. "What doesn't kill you?"? Wanting the man to finish the sentence, he raised his eyebrows. The man stood for a while, analyzing him, before giving him an answer. To his dismay, the man finished the sentence wrongly: "delays you for his comrades to come and finish you."The man finished his sentence, and Kini swallowed without hiding it, and the man chuckled like it was some kind of game he was playing with Karalana, except in this instance it was Kini's mind he was testing.
Smirking at him, he puts his hands in his pockets.
This action makes Kini's heart skip a beat. He talks of killing comrades and does this. Karalana has to man up now. Who knows what this man's motive could be? "You're bluffing, Mr. Eastern." Kini refers to him as Mr. Eastern because he doesn't know his name, and since he said "you're in East," it's easy to call him Mr. Eastern.
He thinks this man will play with him longer if he allows it. "Eastern?" The man echos back. He looks back; clearly he was waiting for someone because he stood at that place without advancing anywhere.
"Why are you here, and where are you going?" Karalana finds it convincing to ask that; come to think of it, he does not know the man, and he stops walking right after meeting him at this place. It's night with that mulky bush beside them; anything is possible, he thinks.
"At least let me know your name before you kill me," Kini states, wanting to gauge if the man will flinch at the sound of it or not. His hands reaching for something in the pockets make Karalana more attentive than before. But The man's hand was reaching for cigarettes.
Karalana excels; he sure was overthinking things. "Do you smoke?". Mr. Eastern asks him, "Let me guess." Mr. Eastern adds, "Are you still walking from yesterday?" Karalana does not answer to that; he keeps quiet and continues glancing at him.
"Are you kidding me? Seriously, what are you doing here, man? You better answer me."
"Or what! Are you going to beat me up, uhu?" Mr. Eastern retorts, and this builds up some anger in Kini. Hopefully, Mr. Eastern has noticed this one before it's too late.
Karalana is an impatient man. Mr. Eastern is not an idiot because he has sensed the fury in him. "Well, relax; I'm just having my snack, and then call it a day, that's all."
"Snack?" Kini echoes, tilting his brows.
Clearly, Mr. Eastern has nothing other than what he is holding in his hands. "You think I'm jocking with you, huh?"
Karalana begins advancing to where Mr. Eastern is, maybe to show him he is seriously not jocking like he said.
"Hold on, my gosh, you're a serious man. I thought you smoked, so I'm offering you a smoke. Is that an offense? Tell me if it is, and I'll roll." He might be telling the truth, but not the entire truth, as Kini can sense, as he is busy reasoning within himself. Mr. Eastern thinks of repeating his question, "How about a cigarette?" and showing him the cigarettes in his hands. "Do you smoke?" What Kini does not know is that Mr. Eastern is just buying some time by using a cigarette as an excuse.
