Chapter 7 - Starting to Fall

ACE KIEN FIERA

It was a warm sunny morning. The breeze of the wind was cool and the ambiance in the place where we are is so peaceful. It's been an hour since I have been staring at this lady who is calmly sleeping under the shadow of this oak tree. It grew behind the first building of the Academy and I recently found out about this place when she pulled me out of the room to skip the next class.

So here we are now, enjoying our time. I continued to watch her as she sleeps, I don't even know if she will be bothered if I ever go back to class.

How cruel!

Just then, I saw her arms move away from her eyes. There are those cold stares once again.

Have I done something wrong for her to look at me like that?

Did she perhaps read my mind?

To my surprise, she suddenly stood up from the ground and continued looking at me with those pair of dark hollow eyes.

"Let's go and eat." She unexpectedly said and smiled. I don't know how to respond so, I just nodded to her. Aviana started to walk after that, so I followed her from behind. After what happened that day, I kept on seeing her smile at me and of course, I am always getting caught off guard by her sudden change of mood.

Though, her smile… It was mesmerizing to look at.

When we were finally walking onto the campus, I noticed that everyone was staring at us from afar. No… it was just actually only her. They are watching her as if they were CCTV cameras. It's been days now since she started sticking on to me or… is it me who's sticking on to her like glue?

Well, let's just never mind that, all I'm saying is that we have been together ever since the day she said I was hers, and somehow… I'm glad that she said that. I met such an interesting and peculiar lady for the first time in my life.

We finally passed through the gates of the Academy. Unexpectedly, the security guards didn't mind us going out. It was as if they do not care. They might know her, for sure and they seem like they respect her like she is some royalty. I witnessed it… how the employees in this Academy treat her so highly which makes me wonder all the time.

Who the hell is she and why… can't I find anything about her?

We proceeded to the parking lot after that. We still have a long way to go towards my car but, she suddenly stopped from walking, so I stopped too. The parking lot wasn't that far from where we are standing but what is she looking at?

I glanced at where her eyes were fixed and I saw a white Bentley car covered in paint. The windows of the car were even shattered into pieces. I take a quick look at her face. She is just calmly looking at the car. I have a hunch that it's hers. I flinched when she looked at me so abruptly. She probably noticed that I was staring at her for too long. She smiled once again which made me frown. She smiled despite knowing that her car was ruined by someone.

Though this may just be such a trivial matter to her, so she doesn't mind at all.

"Can I ride with you in your car?" She asked as her smile faded away from her face.

"Sure," I answered awkwardly and walk towards my car as she followed me from behind.

I opened the door for her then, and she slid in effortlessly. After I closed the door, I went inside my car and sat down to finally start the engine. When I managed to head in, I noticed that she became silent… Although she has been like that always… this time, it felt like something was bothering her.

This is one of the things that I noticed about her. She does not speak too much. She is always serious, cold, and distant. It's as if she is always thinking about something which I don't have the courage to ask. I can't describe her well yet… since I still don't know much about her. But when the time comes, I hope that we can become closer than this.

I started the car then and drove away from the Academy.

"You sure about this place?" She asked looking at the restaurant that I chose. I don't know where she wants to eat and I don't still have the guts to talk to her and ask. She has that terrifying look when she is bothered all the time by other people which is why I don't ever dare to initiate and talk to her first after then. Besides, she is deep in thought while we were heading here.

"You don't like it here?" I asked. She shifted her gaze toward me and then sighed.

"No, it's fine. I'm just..." She paused and looked at the restaurant again.

"Worried." She added and proceeds to finally walk inside.

"Worried?" I whispered to myself.

She's worried about what?

I decided to follow her inside… confused. A waiter assisted us to a seat next to a window once we got inside. I assisted her to sitting down then before I sat down. After that, the waiter handed the menu to us. I got mine but she stopped him when he was about to give her one.

"The usual." She said and the waiter bowed in return, then he looked at me.

"Oww," I said startled.

Is she a regular in this place?

I took a peek at this mysterious girl. My eyes widened when she was already staring at me with those cold gazes.

When will those looks in her eyes change when they look into mine?

"Sir?" The waiter asked which made me come back to my senses. I hurriedly scanned the menu in my hand. All of them were tasty but I want to eat steak.

"I'll have a butter-basted rib-eye steak and can you please bring as a..." I stated then looked at her.

"Iced tea." She spoke.

"One butter-basted rib-eye steak for you sir, the usual for my lady, and an iced tea." He said and finally walked away from us.
