Chapter five
Red-haired rebel Roselyn darted across the room in her silver platforms. Her twin brother had just been killed minutes after buying the slave girl, preventing him from delivering her. Though Roselyn wasn't particularly fond of Sebastian, he was still the only family she had left.
Following her was a slimy creature, with tails for legs, tentacles for arms, and scaled hair. It left a trail of slime wherever it went, a grotesque sight to behold. However, its appearance soon began to shift, morphing into that of a human. Dark, short hair with strands of grey replaced its once bald head, and its tentacles and tail transformed into arms and legs.
With the transformation complete, the creature whispered to Roselyn, "Won't be long now."
Roselyn nodded grimly. "Yes, very soon, Reuben."
