Mrs. Kline's questions rings again. "It was great Mrs. Kline" Gideon replies.
"I know that face. We are indeed in trouble" Gideon whispers back to Gavin as Gideon's mom also enters.
"How are my boys doing?" she asks with a broad smile.
"It was great" they both answer.
"???"
"I think our world's about to end" Gavin whispers to Gideon.
"Yeah, it really is" he agrees
"Since you are both here how about we watch a movie together? It's been a while since we did that hasn't it?"
"Whew, that's a relief" Gavin whispers to Gideon.
"That would be great" Gideon says still looking a bit unconvinced about her act.
"Trust me Gav, something is definitely wrong" he whispers.
"Come on relax. I don't think anything's wrong" he says as they both sit with their parents at the sides, leaving them in the middle.
"I don't feel good about this" Gideon whispers just as Mrs. Kline connects her laptop to the curved TV and plays a video titled 'G Boys'. As the video begins to play, Gideon's sweat begins to drip down his spine as he stares Gav in the face. "On second thought, big trouble!" Gav whispers and couldn't help but swallow his saliva.
"So which of you would like to begin" Gav's mom asks with her voice reverberating throughout the room, causing both their faces to turn ashen as both boys begin to talk at the same time causing the whole place to be noisy.
"Quiet!! Both of you. What were you thinking, skating through the streets at night, and on a highway at that! For Christ's sake what were you two thinking?" Gavin's mom snaps sternly.
"Sorry mom, we were so bored today so… so we decided to have a little fun" Gavin reluctantly replies.
"Fun! So this is your definition of fun, endangering your lives is what you call fun? What if you got injured or worse, huh! Gavin you just came back and you have already started this again? I can't tolerate this kind of behavior anymore, you are grounded, both of you"
"But mom…" Gideon tries pleading
"No buts Gideon, I initially wanted you two grounded for a month. You should count yourselves lucky for the one week you have been given. You talking would only make things worse for you" Gideon's mom cuts in.
"Next time you would think twice before you do something like this. In fact, there would be no next time. Bring the skateboards" she says, and seeing them being hesitant, she yells "Now!". They hand them over without a complain. She leaves the room with Gideon's mom.
"Great now we are grounded. I warned you about that" Gid says.
"Yeah, but at least we are lucky it was just for a week. It could have been much worse. I wonder why though" Gav says. "How did they even get that video?"
"Did you forget?? Dad"
"ooh..."
MELANIE'S APARTMENT
The doorbell rings in the apartment as Melanie is putting on a black T Shirt over a pair of blue jeans shorts. She checks a screen on the left side of the wall.
"Come in, the door is opened" she shouts to whoever is at the door. The door clicks open as a frizzy haired guy with his hair shaved on both side steps in. He walks over to the refrigerator in a corner of the green painted room and picks a can of strawberry juice leaving the front door opened, allowing in the bright streetlights which added to the beauty of the room as it reflects of the table creating a rainbow on the ceiling with the lion engravement on the ceiling seemingly wanting to swallow it.
The wind parts a curtain and reveals a beautiful figure as she walks out of a room.
"Someone's finally gotten a shave, and left the door opened, as usual" Melanie says walking towards him.
"Not my fault, it's a habit" he says
"A bad one for that matter"
"Does it matter?" he questions shutting the door.
Noticing his mood, she asks "Did someone tell you a bad news or did your girlfriend break up with you, because you look a little..."
"None of that actually, just nervous, that's all" he cut's in
"Nervous? Your nervousness today is a bit…"
"Off the chart? Yeah"
"So what exactly got you this nervous?"
"It's just, tomorrow is the big race"
"Big race? You didn't tell me about it."
"I didn't?"
She shakes her head says "Nope you didn't"
"Sorry, it probably slipped my mind."
"Okay then, tell me about it"
"The thing is, I am racing James tomorrow"
"James Toddler"
"Yeah him, and when it comes to parkour, he is the best of the best in this entire part of the country" he says as his face falls.
"Never seen you this nervous before a race. This is a first. You sure you are okay?"
"Yeah I'm good, I guess"
"So he is really good huh?"
"Yeah, he is. And in each of his races, he leaves huge gaps between himself and his opponents. I raced one of his opponents yesterday and it took a miracle for me to win that race, so that should tell you just how nervous I am"
"Yeah, that explains it. The race you had yesterday sounds pretty interesting. Too bad I was busy then. But all the same you got to relax. The Ace I know would do his best no matter who his opponent is. You got this. And don't worry, I would be there myself to cheer you on"
"Promise?"
"Promise" she says with a smile.
"That reminds me, there's word going around that there's a new breed of 'Gossa' in the neighborhood" he says, a hint of interest in his voice.
"The fact that he's from a rich home doesn't make him a 'Gossa' Ace, which is basically your definition of a Gossa"
"As far as I'm concerned, every rich guy is a Gossa"
"Except this one isn't"
"You sound like you've already met him"
"Yeah I have already met him. He was really nice"
"Yeah yeah, you got to meet the new guy first" he says with disappointment written all over his face.
"Mmmhm"
"But it's was just this one time, how can you possibly tell he is not a Gossa?"
"It's me we are talking about Ace, I don't think I need to explain, since you might have already guessed"
"Yeah, whatever madam face reader. And where exactly did you meet him?"
"Oh, we met at the port. He was there with his mom to get some things."
"Wait, but how come I didn't see him?"
"Met him after you stopped chasing me for this. It was more of a crashed into him situation" she says hurling a phone towards him.
"Actually that's why I'm here"
"I figured" she says walking into the room she emerged, then to the balcony.
"Ooh, come look he's down there" she says in an excited tone.
Ace rushes to the balcony, almost crashing into a seat. "Why are you so excited about this and who exactly am I supposed to be looking at?" he blurts out as he gets there, noticing the excitement on her face.
"The guy in the red sleeves walking towards the restaurant"
"And who is he?"
"Zarx, the new guy"
"Zarx? That's his name?"
"Yeah"
"Never heard that kind of name before. This new breed of 'Gossa' is certainly different from all the one's I have met. Wait he just turned and I can't even see his face"
"Here" She says handing him a pair of binoculars as she walks off.
"Dad's gonna 'kill' you if you keep taking his stuff"
"Just use it and stop whining"
"Hmm whatever. Now let's see, hmm he sure looks like a Gossa"
"No he doesn't" she shouts from the door way.
MIDTOWN RESTAURANT
In the not too large not too small restaurant, the Wells are at a table in a corner with an attendant by Zarx who leaves after receiving their orders. Zarx looks around observing the neatly dressed waiters and waitresses serving in there. Though this restaurant is not too big, the number of people coming and going was really large. A woman walks in and standing at the door, scans the room with her beautiful dark eyes. Noticing her, Chloe waves her over. Her face brightened as she wore a smile and walks towards their table.
Her elegant smile could make a man's mind go numb, which was obvious as many eyes in there are immediately directed towards her, watching in a daze. In a moment, she arrives at the table and after talking with Chloe for a while, she walks out. Chloe then drops three brochures in front of Zarx.
"Those are the brochures of the top three schools here. Go through them and let's talk about them tomorrow."
'Seriously, we arrived just this morning and she's already talking about school?' Zarx thinks to himself in disbelief. Their order arrives and they eat silently except for Zarx who keeps staring out the window from time to time. They leave after the meal without a single word from either of them. They buy some ice creams from a store opposite the restaurant and left from there.
SHIRO'S HOUSE
MON. SEPT 30.
6:00 AM
The clock Strike's 6:00 am and the hilarious sound of the alarm brings Shiro back from wonderland. He turns it off and stands to his feet still a bit drowsy as his golden straight flowing hair covers his face. He ties it into a ponytail revealing his green eyes and smooth face. He goes out into the dining room and picks an apple from the fruit basket. He could smell breakfast all the way from there. He goes back inside, drops the apple on to his study table and goes to take his bath.
HILLTOP HIGH SCHOOL
CAFETERIA.
9:30 AM
The few girls in the large cafeteria at the counter begin to give way as the so called 'Hunter' approaches. The first person in the queue had just finished taking his food. He turns and sees the huge figure glaring at him. Chills run down his spine and he swallows hard as he recalls wetting him that morning.
"Hey, you got nowhere to run now" Hunter says pounding his palm with his fist.
