Chapter 3: A Drop in the Water

Flour sack; it had to a goddamn flour sack.

“Carmen, really? You couldn’t think of something better? Or rather you didn’t want to think about something better,” I glare at her

Carmen simply grins, “We have to keep the wound from re-opening until we get to the mountain. Once we are there I can take care of your wounds properly

“Hey about the water, can I have some right now. I’m kinda thirsty,” I ask timidly. Carmen nods her head and digs her hand into the pack for another bottle and walks over while opening the bottle for me. She hands it over to me and I drink thirstil

“You know? I have always noticed that you get thirsty every 30 minutes or so,” Carmen said while she drank out of her bottle. I stare uncertain of how to respond. I finish my water and give my empty bottle to Carmen so that she can refill it later. She only stares at me then moves forward to me and slides her hands under my shirt. I flinch uncomfortably, “I need to take advantage that Kevin is out and about and wash our clothes,” she tells and continues to strip me of my clothes with care not to hurt me. Making sure my wounds don’t re-open. She slowly makes her way over to the rock and starts to scrub my clothes. She now has dark circles under her eyes from the lack of sleep from the past few days. It even looks like she has lost a lot of weight

“Carmen? Are you okay,” I ask carefully making sure I don’t startle her

“I’m just fine,” she smiles, “Why do you ask

Or do you want me to cover you before Kevin comes and sees you nude?” I hadn’t paid attention that I was still naked but then again I can’t feel the chill with or without clothe

“Oh, I forgot,” is my only responds. Carmen shakes her head and looks for a blanke

“Hey, don’t look for a blanket. I’m not cold yet

“Even so, I doubt you want to let Kevin to see like that,” she reminded me. I nod. She finally finds the blanket in Kevin’s pack and brings it to m

After half an hour goes by and Carmen had finished scrubbing my clothes and hung it on a tree that was close to a small fire she had made to keep us warm. It was wearing a long dark blue coat that reached all the way to it’s ankles with a gray T-shirt and regular dark colored jeans with black heavy boots. It’s skin was light but pale due to the lack of sunlight. It had raven black hair and it’s eyes were bright hazel paired with a slim nose and lips that up held a smirk.
