Black Clover: Undefined

Beliefs, religion, and culture helped humanity thrive. They helped build societies, civilizations, and kingdoms. However, we cannot say that they are indeed morally good. This fanfiction tells the story of a young man who became the victim of such beliefs. After finding out the truth, he sets out to be what society thought of him to be. The one and only, devil child. I don't own the cover picture. Of course the same goes for Black Clover. --------------------

Chapter 65

"That's the kill of the day," Hisashi said to himself as he dispels the wind spell on the sword. He flashes to the next one and in a quick fashion, he hits the large bear's head with an axe kick, instantly knocking it out. Given how he's in the middle of the horde, he was surrounded by the beasts – something that didn't scare him.

With the strongest leader dead, some of the beasts start to stray on the path and go sideways, hitting other beasts. But this didn't stop Hisashi as he flashes to the next strongest presence and with his hard wooden sword, the huge raging mutated boar flew over the battlefield.

Normally, Hisashi's usual style was to combine different elements to augment his weapons and body, but he didn't do so this time. He was only using the wind element as he thought that it would be wiser to hide his unusual magic type. And even with this limitation, the fight was lightwork to Hisashi as he knocks many smaller beasts with a bunch of blunt wind attacks.

On the front part of the horde, Zhang and his people were fighting for their lives. Blood and magic were flying everywhere as they all weave their weapons left and right, killing every beast that comes their way in a single or several hits.

With their neutral chi on full utilization, they were able to coordinate and help cover each other given the number of the wild beasts. With the end of his already sharp spear clad in even sharper ice, Zhang stabs the beasts with full force. As he did so, ice spikes comes out on the other end hitting other wild beasts in the vicinity.

"How many have we killed?" One of the fighters with a battle axe asks. He has a mud sorcery and he uses it to stop and immobilize many of the beasts, letting him get a clean kill.

"I think we're near a fifth of these fuckers!" Another one answers, who was throwing chakram left and right. With his throwing skill combined with his steel sorcery, his ammo only depends on his mana consumption.

From the sky, the combination of Mai and Lao was as deadly as the two shoots quite many beasts down with her sharp wooden arrows made of tree sorcery and his deadly bird strike using bird sorcery. Mai displays her top-notch aim and skills as even with the strong wind, she has yet to miss a single shot.

"A baboon ran past me!" One of them said as he kicks a raging boar out of his way. "Leave it to Xin Meng. At least give him something." Another reply.

On the opening of the Ice wall, Xin Meng was almost on the verge of sleeping when he saw a couple of beasts running his way.

"Ugh. He better not disturb me for another week. I hate this job." He said in a sleepy deep voice. While sitting, he held his hands out in a flicking position. He gathers his ZiChi or natural chi in his thumb and middle finger and with a single flick… a mutated leopard 50 meters away from him, froze in a second.

He flicks one more time, and this time, a mutated baboon was frozen. He did the same for the remaining beast going his way and didn't miss a single one. The only thing that the beasts witnessed was a white speck coming their way. No, they didn't even notice it as it was too fast for their senses.

Half an hour later, Hisashi walks back to the group while wiping his sword off the dried blood. At the same time, Lao and Mai also came down from the air.

"I spare some. They're knocked out good though, so you don't have to worry." Hisashi said to Zhang who was talking to someone else. This confused Zhang who knit his eyebrow close.

"Huh? Why didn't you kill them? Are you guilty?" Zhang asks.

"No?" Hisashi was the one who became more confused. "Can't you… keep them on a barn and later use it as livestock? You can even harvest the meat of the dead ones and use it for food." He simply said.

However, Zhang and the others didn't reply immediately and simply look at each other.

"You have a food shortage, right? These beasts are edible. They are mostly mountain animals but the mountain boars are edible… except for the mutated ones. As long as you clean and cook it thoroughly, they're as good as normal livestock." Hisashi said.

'Aren't you guys accustomed to these attacks? How can you not know this?' He thought to himself. The silence was broken off by Mai who was delighted.

"Really? Are you serious? If we can do that, we can cook meat porridge for the people and not have to buy anything at all!" She said excitedly. Remembering her dejection before, Hisashi wasn't as surprised at her sympathetic action.

But still, it was a big contrast to his first impression of her who kept aiming arrows at his vital areas – the total opposite of someone sympathetic.

'Maybe she's just taught that by her master.' He simply thought to remove his initial impression of her.

"I'll teach you how to do it. Just follow through with our deal." "Huh? What deal?"

"You said that you'll let me go if we kill them before they reached the town. Which we did."

"Uh oh. I can't remember! Remind me once again?" With Mai's innocent poker face, Hisashi can tell what she's doing, which irritates him.

"You know that won't work right?" Hisashi ignores her as he walks away, leaving the capturing work to the others.

As for the others, they were all left to wonder how much meat they have wasted before and why no one thought them that. Aside from the tough ones like primate and canine species, a lot of the wild beasts are of boar species.

Before, they were only taught to avoid eating such beasts as they are dangerous. This was also proven to some almost seeing the heavens from eating one but even with that, they want to trust this mysterious foreigner that just somehow joined the fight, even Zhang.

With all the decision-making responsibilities on him, Zhang ponders for a second before ordering his people.

"Do as he suggested. We need every food we can give these people. The Qin needs as much help as he needs."

Three months ago, Zhang was a feudal officer in one of the larger towns near the capital. But because of the attacks from the Yalu Mountains, this town's officer left his people. With his son, Xin Meng, being a prodigal prodigy, the two were assigned by the Qin to take on the job while he prepares the solution.

"Lao and Mai, tell the citizens to go back now."

With them finished faster than they normally would, the warriors all sigh in relief for another safe day.
