Black Blood Mage

Stealing mushrooms and drinking urine is the only way many in the underground and Demon-controlled city of Adonia know how to live. In such a world, how could anyone–much less a young boy no older than five-years-old–survive?

Tiamat's Wrath

"I said I'm thinking of sending you to Cocytus for you to learn more Magic."

"I know you said that! But why? Can't I just stay here?"

My initial plan was to kill Kreechur after I had gotten stronger, so I should be happy about leaving to learn more about Magic. But this past year, I somehow became attached to him. Although he's very eccentric, and he caused me so much pain, I care about him. And he cares about me.

"You mastered all of my Magic already. I have nothing else to teach you. And living in Cocytus would be good for you. The only issue is that you look like a human."

'I can help with that. When you were trying out that spell, I found a way to tweak it to work. Try it again and trust me.'

I tried it again, pushing Mana through my body and directed it into the outer layer of my skin. Then, I felt myself lose control of my Mana as Happy took it, perfectly turning my skin into Demon scales. He changed everything, from my toenails to my eyes, I looked like a young Demon. I was even taller.

"Nevermind. Now you're ready."

"W-Wait! I never said I wanted to go…"

I was so caught up in learning a new Spell that I forgot that changing my form would allow Kreechur to send me away.

'Just go! It'll be a good opportunity and you'll always have me by your side.'

'You're right. Thank you, Happy.'

"Well, you're going to have to go. I already called in a favor and set up a new identity for you. We're leaving tonight. Make sure to have your stuff ready."

This was the first time I had seen Kreechur act more like a parent and less like a mentor to me, and honestly it felt nice. It made me consider the important things in my life, and Kreechur was one of the only ones.

"Okay. I'll go."

**

When the time came, Kreechur led me out of the laboratory for the first time since I had gotten here, the large tunnel outside still looking the exact same.

Unfortunately, on my way out, I hit one of my horns on the wall, knocking a large stone to the ground. Luckily, it was nothing Magic couldn't mend.

'I'll have to get used to this body, and fast.'

"I'll walk you to the end of Tiamat's Wrath, but after that, you'll be on your own. Let's go."

We started walking through the tunnel that was apparently called "Tiamat's Wrath". It was huge: so big that the ceiling wasn't visible from the ground. As well as this, if you stood against a wall, the other side of the tunnel wouldn't be visible.

As we were walking, Kreechur decided to regale me with the history of this tunnel.

"Originally, the humans stayed in the Capital with the Demons, and their part of town can still be visited today. Back then, this tunnel wasn't here. It was created because of Tiamat, one of Lucifer's Generals, as well as the first Demon Dragon.

"Dragons are unique creatures; their strength unparalleled except by the very strongest of Demons. She was very loyal but her personality was… fiery, I suppose. One day, Beelzebub, that troublemaker, said something to Tiamat that set her off, leading her to return to her Dragon form and create this long tunnel when trying to attack Beelzebub.

"Of course, Lucifer stopped them after letting Tiamat let some of her anger out, and punished them both. Ah… How I miss those fools…"

Kreechur then proceeded to mumble about something until we reached the end of the tunnel. On the other side, there was a large cavern that held a city so large that I can't even fathom how many people it could hold.
