Chapter 29 - Unity(Part 9)

Point-of-View: Theo Ranger

———————————————————————————

"Have we secured the perimeter?" Inquired Siara quietly.

"Yeah, we're got the place fully surrounded, none of them are getting away," I replied with a nod.

Hope we can wrap this up quickly...we've been racing all around the city since yesterday, hunting down the anti-Alter terrorists.

We managed to capture some of them and interrogate them, which led us here, to their main hideout, a warehouse. We've taken down a few of their other bases, but this is the most important part of our mission...cutting off the head of their organization and crippling them for good. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

"Can we attack yet?" Sighed one of the others impatiently.

Five of us would be charging in, to attack and apprehend the people in there. The rest have the building surrounded, to make sure none of the terrorists can get away.

"Yeah, let's get started. Theo, if you would, please," Siara prompted me.

"Leave it to me," I nodded affirmatively, before racing forward at top speed, leaping forward as I closed in on the entrance of the warehouse, slamming a flying kick onto the door and kicking it in.

The others swiftly charged in, as alarmed yells echoed out from inside.

"What the hell!?"

"It's those Unity Freaks! Kill them!"

"Damn monsters...!"

I shot across the large space, striking several of the terrorists at the back of their necks and knocking them out, as they scrambled to try and reach their weapons.

As one of them managed to pick up a gun and began to take aim, the gun suddenly floated out of his hands, a bewildered look appearing on his face. The gun then began spinning and flew down towards him, the base of the handle hitting his forehead with a loud thunk and knocking him out.

Nice, that was Siara's Telekinesis. I then continued racing around and knocking the terrorists unconscious, as the others joined in on the action and attacked.

It didn't take very long to incapacitate them all, there were only about thirty of them in total. I probably could've taken them all on by myself...which is what's bothering me right now...

"Hey, is it just me, or was this way too easy?" I frowned warily.

"I hate to say it, but I was just thinking the exact same thing. They've been a thorn in our side for weeks now, it's strange that taking them down was this easy. I've been concerned ever since we captured so many of them during the last couple of days...they've managed to give us the slip for all this time, it doesn't make sense that things turned around so quickly and easily," Nodded Siara in agreement.

"What are you guys getting at?" Inquired one of the others.

"I'm not sure...but something doesn't feel right. It's as if-...," Began Siara, trailing off as one of the terrorists began chuckling, "Hey, what's so funny, asshole?"

"You stupid Freaks...it's over for you. Right about now, our friends are carrying out our real goal...and soon, you monsters won't have a home to get back to!"

"Huh?" I responded icily, as I grabbed him by the collar and lifted him up, glaring at him furiously, "The hell are you talking about!?"

"Come on, I couldn't have been more clear if I tried. Take a guess, Freak...what do you think I'm talking about?" He smirked as he laughed triumphantly.

"We...we need to get back to the mansion, immediately...," Muttered Siara as her eyes widened in alarm.

"Go ahead, Freaks, but you better hurry! Time's ticking fast, you abominations!"

"You son of a bitch!" I snapped, as I slammed my head onto his and knocked him out as he began cackling.

"Forget about him, Turbo! We need to go! Now!" Exclaimed Siara urgently.

Yeah, we need to get back ASAP...I just hope we're not already too late...

Point-of-View: Ariodred Phoenix

———————————————————————————

"There you two are, Ariodred, Xandra, I've been looking for-...oh," Came Yale's voice, as the doors to the balcony opened.

"Oh, hey, it's the boss!" I grinned with a wave, before adding, "You know, I've been thinking boss...you should totally name your study the 'B-Hole'. The B stands for boss."

Man, I feel so good right now. Like, I'm so relaxed and carefree...and it's made me realize something that I didn't figure out till just now. I'm, like, always on edge...even when I'm chilling in my room, I'm not totally relaxed. So this feels amazing...I didn't realize that I haven't properly relaxed in so long.

"Hahaha, that's a good one! We should definitely do that! I can get the nameplate for the door!" Laughed Xandra in amusement.

"You'll do no such thing," He frowned warily.

"Come on, boss, why don't you join us? There's plenty to go around," Spoke up Kris as she waved him over.

"No thanks, I'm good. I wanted you two to help me arrange my library, but it's clear that's not going to happen," Sighed Yale in exasperation.

"Wooo! Looks like we dodged a bullet, Red!" Laughed Xandra, holding up her hand for a high five.

"Yeah, I'm glad I tagged along, after all," I grinned, as I smacked her palm with mine.

"Unbelievable...I swear, you-...," Began Yale, before cutting off as, suddenly, a loud explosion burst out, the outer gates of the mansion flying in, hitting and skidding along the ground with a loud crash and screech, as screams of alarm rang out from the younger members, who were playing in the garden below.

"What's going on!?" I frowned warily, as I stood up abruptly.

"Oh, no...," Muttered Yale with a grimace.

I followed his gaze, to see dozens of people charging in through the gateway, carrying large guns and other weapons.

"This is bad, we have to stop them," Remarked Xandra grimly, standing up unsteadily.

"There is no 'we'. You're too high to fight. Leave this to me, I'll deal with these intruders," Sighed Yale, as he suddenly began floating up, flying into the air...
