Chapter Three

Years have gone by. It's been four years since I moved to England with my dad. Dad, for no reason handed down the company to me so I'm technically the boss. Everyone is scared of me because I'm one of the best fighters. I'm currently beginning the third year of high school.

"Ms. Stone, there's bad news. Mr.-your dad has been sent to the hospital."

"I-uh-what?....a-again? I stuttered. My head was spinning but luckily, I didn't faint. I followed my secretary to the hospital. It was a Saturday so I didn't go to school. I called Chess and we went together.

When we arrived at the hospital, Cole and Sean were already there. We waited outside for the doctor.

"How's he?" I asked immediately the doctor came out.

"He's badly injured. He's awake and he wants to see his daughters." The doctor said and Chess and I knew he wanted to see us. He calls Chess his daughter even though she really isn't.

"Dad?" Chess and I called out when we entered the room.

"My children, I never imagined this happening to me. I mean the incredible hulk? Die? What are the chances?" how could he joke at a time like this? "not funny? Anyway, I knew this would happen and that is why I handed over the company to you. I've had brain tumor or some time now. I don't think I can live any longer. Take care of the company for me. Here have this." He gave us each a half piece of a locket.

"Dad….don't….say…..that." I burst into tears.

"We have …..the money….. so we can..... save you." Chess also broke into tears.

"Don't cry, this is a happy moment. I can finally see both of you stand up for yourselves. You've grown up to become talented and beautiful ladies. I trust you to make the right decisions for the company. Remember, don't ever depart from each other. Your friendship is true and rare." He said with a feeble voice.

"No….no….dad…no" I cried and we both hugged him.

"We love you Dad. Don't go and leave us." Chess said as we sobbed.

"I love you too but I have to leave. The grim ripper is here for me." He said and we heard a long beep. His hands dropped cold and we knew he was lifeless. He was gone. The doctors had to literally tear us from his cold and lifeless body.

"NO!!!" I shouted as I was pulled away.

"Get it together Drey. You are the school's badass. What do you think the school will say? Besides, you're the main shareholder of this company. You can't afford to break down." Cole said.

"Well excuse me for just being HUMAN." I spat the human like it was venom.

"He didn't mean it like that. Well at least you bonded with him. What of Chess, Cole and I who didn't get such a privilege to be with their dad?" Sean asked and I realized he was right. I should be grateful he loved me unlike my excuse of a mother.

"You are right. Chess, we need to be strong. Dad wouldn't want to see us like this." I said wiping my tears and Chess also did the same.

Everything after his death was such a blur.

Cole got 15% of the company, Sean also got 15% of the company, Chess got 20% of the company and I got 50% of the company

1 week later

Today is the day dad would be buried. Chess and I were dressed in black gowns. I went out of my room where I met Cole and Sean. They were dressed in black suits. Chess and I put on shades and headed to the cemetery. So many people came to observe the funeral because my dad was a rich and famous person. I walked to his gravestone and put a bouquet of white roses. Chess put red ones. We both stared blankly at the grave refusing to cry. Crying means being weak. Crying means you can't control your feelings.

"This means eternal love." I whispered as I dropped the white rose on his grave. The funeral went on quickly.

1 month later

"Chess and I have come to a decision." I announced to everybody at the company. Both the fighting and nonfighting staff. "We'll be going to manage the branch at New York. Blast, Blaze and Martha need help. They are not doing well with the fighting nowadays. Cole is coming with us but Sean will stay. The upcoming fights are no big deal. I'm sure Sean, Bloom and Keith can handle them. That's my announcement and I hope it's okay." I continued and everyone roared a 'yes'.

"The flight is tomorrow. I'm sure students at Belleville will miss us. Three of the nightmares of Belleville. But don't worry, we will be creating a hellhole in Pineview high." Chess said with an evil smirk lingering on her lips.

"How come I'm the only one staying here?" Sean asked with raised eyebrows.

"No offence Cole. Sean, you know you're better than Cole at fighting right? Moreover, people in this company fear you more. Lastly, you are not the socializing type Sean." I said.

"Nope. He does socialize a lot...in bed with his whores." Cole said and Sean glared at him.

"That was totally out of context." Chess said and I agreed with her.

"Okay, go pack up. Flight's 7:30 am tomorrow." I said and we went separate ways.

Packing went on smoothly. I went inside Sean's office to say goodbye.

"I guess we will see each other soon?" I asked as I was done with my goodbye. He gave me a faint smile. "Take good care of the company. If anything, call me." I added and smiled back. I said and we hugged but before I could leave, he planted a passionate kiss on my lips and I don't know why but I kissed him back. He turned his back immediately we parted and I left the office not knowing how to approach the situation. I'm a badass but it's not everyday you kiss one of your best friends. Is it?

I thought about the kiss over and over again till I fell asleep.
