Finally, I enter my second year of high school. I met all the main cast and also Aiko sensei became our homeroom teacher as dictated by fate. I have prepared a lot from mastering many essential skills to also preparing weapons in my bag that I could possibly carry with me at all times. After all, I never knew when I would be transported.
Today is another Monday where I need to go to school. Most people would sigh upon thinking about the beginning of a new week while recalling the paradise that is yesterday. But I was different, as I finally remembered that the event happened on Monday although I don't which Monday.
Why Monday you ask? It is because you can introduce the main character who is lamenting the world as he goes to school after a weekend. This created a perfect image for a common isekai story protagonist.
"Yo, You are as early as always Kentarou"
While thinking some miscellaneous thing, I hear a voice behind me that I could not detect nor sense at all.
"The Heck! Please stop doing that Kousuke! Even though you always lament for not being spotted and being forgotten by others, don't scare them like a ghost!"
Right, it was the Kousuke E. Abyssgate… Ahem, he is still not yet being turned to the dark side, just almost. After meeting him and befriending him, I have always tried to notice his presence and trained my sense perception. But to no avail, despite training to sense with my eyes closed, with my ear closed, and other all sorts of training that I know and learn from the Internet, I still could never find him when he doesn't take the initiative to show up.
"Ugh…. please don't remind me again about that"
He then does his usual lamenting about his ninja way as I ignore him (forget him). After most of the class has shown up, I finally focused my attention on the door of the classroom. Just as usual, when the bell was about to ring, Hajime dragged his tired body to the classroom door and pushed it open.
At that moment, most of the male students in the classroom clicked their tongues except for a few like me, Kousuke, and Jugo as they glared at him with a scornful look. The female students also didn't expose any friendly expressions. Some girls acted cold and detached towards him and some were clearly looking at him with contempt.
Hajime then walked towards his own seat. However, there would always be a meddlesome and talkative guy beside him.
'This is really getting boring as this happens almost every day now.'
With that, the guy in question talks in a very condensing way toward Hajime.
"Yo, nasty otaku! Did you stay up all night to play games again? Was it an erotic game?"
"Ew, soo gross~ Playing erotic game for the whole night is really so disgusting~"
What did they find so funny for them to burst into loud laughter? After all, I don't believe they don't also do the same with porn or other stuff. Well, since coming to this world, I have never done that kind of stuff.
Although the hormone is influencing me somehow, I can still ignore them. After all, the most powerful driving force that causes teenage boys to do that is curiosity which I lack as I already understand.
Since I want to protect my body from its harmful effect, I prevent myself from doing that. On the other hand, after being reincarnated and staying in a child's body for more than 10 years which makes you unable to do anything since you have not yet grown up, would you still have the urge?
Anyway, the one who started ridiculing him was Hiyama Daisuke, he was the one who started harassing Hajime every day as if it was his homework. The three idiots laughing next to him were Saito Yoshiki, Kondo Reiichi, and Nakano Shinji. Overall, it was these four people who frequently harassed Hajime.
As Hiyama had said, Hajime was an otaku just like me, Jugo, and Kousuke that have changed its class to Hidden Otaku. After all, the second-grade syndrome has subsided a bit for the three of us although on Kousuke's side I think that it is only blocked until it will overflow someday hahaha.
Well, even though Hajime was called nasty, it doesn't mean his actions and appearance were terrible to behold. His short hair was neatly trimmed, there was not a hint of bed hair. He also didn't have any mental problems, even though he didn't actively participate in community campaigns just like a few of the classmates who are introverted too, his honest appearance does not give rise to the feeling of disgust. He was merely fond of things like figures, mangas, novels, movies, and games.
Well it can't be helped, the criticism otakus received from the average person was indeed very strong in Japan and maybe some countries too, but it was only to the degree of mockery, it won't give rise to any hostility. In any case, why were most of the male students in the entire class despised him? That was because of a yandere girl that always stuck too close to him.
"Good morning, Nagumo-kun! Almost late, as usual, you should come earlier next time."
One female student smiled happily as she walked beside Hajime. In this class, no, in this entire school, those who were on friendly terms with Hajime were only a few minorities, and they were the root cause that gave rise to the situation a moment ago.
In fact, my relationship with him is also cannot be described as friendly nor hostile but a mixed feeling. Why do you ask? In the beginning, as most reincarnator do, we will also try to get closer to the protagonist of the story. However, I stopped doing that after several times doing that.
Why? The reason being when I talk with Hajime, there is always a shinigami that stares at me with killing intent. Is it Daisuke? No! Is it Kouki? No! This person is a girl who has a tendency to stalk Hajime.
Yes, this shinigami is called Shirasaki Kaori, she was one of the two goddesses in the school. Regardless of male and female, she was extremely popular due to her beauty. Her gorgeous black hair reached up to her waist, her big droopy eyes revealed a hint of gentleness, and her tiny nose aligned perfectly with her pink-colored lips.
She always wears a big smile and shares a strong sense of responsibility, she knows how to take care of other people. She was always relied on by her classmates, she didn't abhor anyone, and treated everyone with equal sincerity. She possessed a maturity unlike that of a high school student.
So, why would someone like Kaori always care about Hajime?
That's because she also has another trait that is not known to everyone except me, yes! Shirasaki is a yandere and she likes Hajime. I mean what the fuck man… I am not gay! Why the heck are you staring at me as if I would steal your boy toy?
Although I often do not care about any girls or even beautiful girls around me. That is mostly because of two reasons! One, I don't want to be an [Hero] as one of the conditions might be being popular with girls.
While two, I am more excited about sciences and magic such as how they relate to each other since I finally knew they exist. Is mana an undiscovered elementary particle or energy still remains a mystery to me. After all, the purest energy we know right now is only light and electricity while others such as thermal, kinetic, potential, etc always come with other matter as intermediate.
But if that is what makes me avoid being near Hajime, then it is not this. On a certain day, I was approached by Daisuke and the trio. They asked me what happened between me and Shirasaki with threatening eyes as they saw Shirasaki stare at me intently when I was talking to Hajime.
The fuck man! You got the wrong target! In the end, I solved this issue by telling them the truth that Shirasaki likes Hajime. Of course, how can these dumbasses believe me? In order to make them believe me, I end up shifting the blame to Hajime as I created an 'imaginary' event where Hajime saves Shirasaki and they should talk it to Hajime.
They end up asking Hajime the next day. Hajime being confused refused their stories of course. However, the 4 bullies, in the end, choose to believe me instead of him as I am more 'trustable' and they really don't like Hajime. I hope Hajime doesn't mind about this haha...
