Chapter 44

"Any updates on Lucas?" Xander asked his assistant on their way back.

"Not yet sir he has not yet acted but our men have noticed something unusual."

"Which is?"

"He's looking for more forces."

"Got it keep an eye on him he will be acting soon let's get him before he does."

"Yes, boss."

"I need to go back to Country C," Xander spoke after a while.

"Should I prepare the jet?"

"Yes take care of everything while am away."

"Yes sir."

The next day, Mia walked into the school gate munching on chocolates with one hand placed on Addison's shoulder. Everyone gave way as they passed no one dared to make any remarks after the national exams.

"What is happening? Why is everyone standing." Chloe asked seeing everyone stare in the same direction.

"The queen has arrived." One of the girls replied.

"Who?"

"Don't you know?"

"Mia Johns."

"Tch." She replied and then walked past them.

"Mia you are here," Kyle spoke immediately after Mia walked into class.

"Here I did your homework," Addison spoke handing Mia her exercise book. Mia took it and then uttered a thank you.

As usual, Mia slept in between breaks and would pay attention from time to time.

"Mia, do you have a simpler method?" The physics teacher asked. Ever since she had a perfect score the teachers would sometimes ask her a question or tell her to teach the rest.

Mia nodded her head in approval and then stood up walking towards the board. She picked up a chalk and then scribbled for a few minutes.

"Woaah Mia you are so great."

"It's so easy."

"For the first time in my life, I understand physics."

"Me too." The whole class was in full of praise after she solved the question.

"Mia teach us more." They all yelled Mia turned to the physics teacher after he nodded in approval she began explaining the concepts step by step till everyone understood.

"Am loving physics," Ashley commented.

"Shut up Ashley." Gianna retorted

After the class, Mia walked back to her seat and then slept.

Each class, she was called up front to explain the complex terms so by the end of the day Mia was extremely tired and worn out.

"You look so tired." Kyle stared at Mia's gloomy face. She nodded her head and then slammed her bag against her shoulders dragging her feet towards the gate.

"Why is she so tired?" Mason asked Addison seeing Mia's expression.

"huh don't even ask," She sighed and then continued," All teachers kept calling Mia to the board to explain she didn't even go for lunch today saying she was tired."

"Got it," Mason replied. He got into the back seat next to Mia and then stretched his hand towards the seat compartment and then retrieved a box of chocolates.

"Here eat this." He spoke unwrapping a piece and giving Mia. Mia immediately took it and then munched on it.

"Why don't you sleep I'll wake you up when we arrive," Mason spoke starting at the pitiful Mia. She nodded her head stretched her hands out and then slept next to Mason.

From time to time, Mia turned her head looking for a more comfortable position so Mason moved closer to her and then slowly placed her head on his shoulder.

"Drive slowly," Mason whispered.

"Yes, boss."

A journey that took about twenty minutes at a normal speed took one full hour. As Mason kept yelling when he increased the speed as he did not want anything disrupting Mia's sleep.

After an hour and a half, the driver had successfully parked which was one of the hardest jobs Mason had given him. Addison went upstairs leaving the couple in the car. After a while, Mason stretched his hand out quietly and then retrieved his work laptop. After about four hours, Mia finally woke up she looked extremely energetic having slept for a while. She stretched herself and then turned to Mason.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" She asked.

"I couldn't bring myself to it," Mason replied stiffly.

"What's wrong with you?" Mia asked not knowing that she had slept on his shoulder for hours.

"Nothing am fine," Mason spoke.

"Am going up," Mia spoke as she alighted from the car.

After she disappeared into the building, Mason massaged his shoulders as he groaned in pain and then followed her upstairs.

"Boss, everything is ready." Xander's assistant spoke.

"Mmmh." He replied and then walked to the jet.

"Inform me when everything is ready."

"Yes, boss."

He fastened his seat belt and then lay down on his seat comfortably.

"Looks like they still did it." He said silently as he heaved a big sigh. After a while, his mind flashed back to 15 years ago when he first met Lisa. She was the prettiest woman and the most intelligent woman he had ever seen. He fell in love with her at first sight.

At that time, he was made the team leader as the most intelligent and capable person. He had access to everything in the laboratory. When he first arrived in Country C he was just an empty shell who just worked and nothing more but after meeting Lisa he had another thing to strive for and that was to marry her when they left.

All that was left now was just pure hatred and revenge he was going to give them a good, nice, and sweet ending thinking of that made him smile. But for now, he still had one more thing to do and that was going back to Country C.

He sighed heavily as he shut his eyes slowly drifting away into the Lalala land.

"Boss, I have news." Lucas' men walked into his study room.

"Speak."

"Xander Ambani just left the Country looks like he's heading back to Country C but he left alone hiss assistant is still in the Country."

"Got it any more news on what he is planning?" Lucas asked.

"Nothing yet he's hiding pretty well."

"Okay." He waved his hand and then his men walked away.

He started into space his hands clasping together in deep thoughts "I have to be ready what are you really planning Xander." He silently spoke holding his chin.

If there was something that he couldn't do underestimate Xander Ambani looks like he would have to go the hard way.
