Chapter 9

Max averted his gaze and looked at the driver, asking, "How much?"

The driver, thinking he wouldn't get any money, joyfully replied, "480 dollars!"

"Not 48?!" Eva was so angry that she wanted to curse, but Max stopped her.

"480, right? That's a steal, isn't it?" Max smiled amiably, and in the next moment, he suddenly kicked the driver with a long leg, knocking him down.

The driver let out a miserable scream and rolled on the ground, wailing, "He's attacking me! Come and see, he's attacking me! Help!"

Max looked at him calmly, sneering, "Attacking? That's too weak. How about we try murder?"

He said, deliberately looking at Eva with a mischievous smile, as if he found it to be a fun game.

Eva glanced at him, knowing he was just trying to scare the driver, but she was too tired to play along.

"Hurry up, I want to go back and sleep," she lazily said.

But hearing Max's sinister tone, the driver's heart skipped a beat, feeling a sense of panic for no reason.

Soon, the bar's security personnel arrived.

The driver thought he was saved, but then he saw them running to Max's side, bowing respectfully and saying, "Max, is something wrong? Do you want us to handle it?"

The driver, still lying on the ground, turned pale, realizing that he had kicked the wrong bench, thinking he could extort some money.

"Sorry, young master, I'm fine now. Can we just forget about it? You've already hit me, and I don't want the fare anymore. Let's consider it settled, okay?" the driver pleaded.

Max couldn't be bothered to look at him and directly told the security personnel, "This person tried to extort money from me, right in front of your establishment. You deal with it."

The bar was frequented by wealthy kids with powerful backgrounds, so they naturally took such matters seriously.

"Don't worry, Max, we will give you a satisfactory outcome."

After the security personnel spoke, they approached the driver, lifted him up, and took him away.

Eva curiously stretched her neck, seeing the driver being taken into a dark alley, where she faintly heard screams.

"Let's go, back home," Max embraced her, not allowing her to continue watching. Such things weren't suitable for a little girl like her to witness.

The valet brought his sports car over.

Max pulled her into the car, stuffing her inside, and took the driver's seat. The engine roared to life, and the streamlined sports car quickly left the bar street.

Eva felt around in the car and clicked her tongue, saying, "This car must be very expensive, right? You're such a spendthrift."

Although she didn't understand cars, when she was in the US, she had seen many people playing with cars. A supercar like this must cost several million dollars.

Max smirked, "It's not that expensive, just a few million."

Eva rolled her eyes at him. "A few million isn't expensive? Then give me a few million to spend."

As she spoke, she extended her palm in front of him, asking for it.

Max, driving with one hand, lightly patted her palm with the other. "Why should I give it to you? Your dad is rich too, so go ask him."

Stingy!

Eva glanced at him and ignored him.

Soon, the two arrived at his upscale apartment.

Max drove the car into the underground garage and stopped. He noticed that the girl seemed drowsy, as if she had fallen asleep, tilting her little head.
