Chapter 86 Teasing Them is Fun

"Daddy Chen Bin!" Hu'er ran towards Chen Bin. Stop in front of him. She grins at her Daddy.

Chen Bin couldn't help but smiles too. He greets her, "Hu'er."

Hu'er puts her hands behind her back and sways her body. "How is the harvest?"

He chuckles. Chen Bin can see how happy Hu'er is. It also made him happy. "It's great. How are the lessons going?"

She stopped swaying and puffed her cheeks before answering, "Old Mom taught me a lot of things today. Did Daddy Chan Bin wait for long?"

He shook his head even though it had been a while since he came, "No. I just came." They start walking home.

Chen Bin notices the basket she is holding and asks, "Why did Old Mom give you some berries? Anyway, I'll tell them to give Old Mom some meat later. Qiang Li and Jiu Lin got some prey and live wild animals."

Hu'er then remembered a scene. She was sleeping and woke up because of the noise. Instead of standing up, she watched someone doing something sneaky.

Her Dada was looking at the book she had back when she first got the wrong book. That non-vulgar mating book. She saw him sigh a relief and put it back where she hid them.

'If Daddy Chen Bin saw my book… Will he take it and not give it to me? I must hide it well.' Hu'er looks at the basket and saw a hint of the cover peaking. She quietly moves some berries.

Instead of focusing on the basket, she put focused on meat to distract her Daddy Chen Bin, "Are they cooking some meat? Can Song Li cook lotus soup with meat instead? Old Grandmom likes that more than raw meat."

He nodded and agreed to her words, "Alright, I'll tell Song Li to cook some for Old Mom."

"I want some too," she muttered.

Chen Bin chuckles, "Of course. Can we even forget about Hu'er's portion? I'll get it as soon as it's cooked."

"Daddy Chen Bin loves Hu'er the most~" She cutely grins at him and acts like a child.

"Yes, I love Hu'er the most," Chen Bin is looking at her tenderly.

"I love Daddy Chen Bin too!" Hu'er beamed.

"Give the basket to me. Let me hold it."

Hu'er froze. The thing that she is avoiding still came. Hu'er smiles, "No need Daddy. I can carry it."

"It's fine. The basket is so full. Let me hold it." Chen Bin really wants to serve Hu'er. She rarely needs them to do anything.

Hu'er stepped back and shook her head, "No. No. Let me do it."

"I—"

Before he can say anything Hu'er attacked him with adorableness, "Please~ Please, please, please~"

"Are you sure? The basket looks heavy…" His expression is full of hesitation.

"Yes! Very sure!" Hu'er beamed and nodded eagerly.

"Okay… Tell me if you can't hold it anymore." Actually, Chen Bin thought that the basket is heavy, and sooner or later Hu'er would give it to him.

"Hmm-hmm." Hu'er nodded happily. 'Thank Beast God,' she thought.

Throughout their walk, Chen Bin repeatedly asked to carry it while they are walking. He can see how Hu'er would change the hands she is holding the basket with.

Also, Chen Bin saw a bit of Hu'er hands. It is getting redder. It made him worry and helpless as Hu'er kept on insisting to hold it. He thought he would give it to him but Hu'er still insists to carry it even though she is tired and her hand is swelling.

Chen Bin wished they could walk faster so she can put it down or let someone take it. When they arrived at their home Chen Bin never thought that he would be so happy coming back here.

"Hu'er, you're back." Jiu Hu, just in time, came out of the house. He is holding a basket of herbs.

"Dada~" she smiles.

Hu'er wanted to hang on his arms and sway but she didn't do it. Restricting herself is painful. She is used to doing those things already. Now, she can't do it.

Jiu Hu saw Chen Bin sigh a relief and sneakily signaled him to look somewhere. Jiu Hu glance at it and saw Hu'er holding a basket.

"Why did you make her carry the basket?" He went ahead and was about to take it from Hu'er's hand when the basket swayed away from him.

Hu'er step backed and made sure her Dada won't be able to take it. "No, no. Dada, I want to carry it."

Even if she wanted to, she couldn't. Her hands are hurting but they would for sure see the book if the berries move just for a little bit.

Hu'er did regret not putting the book more hidden. She shouldn't have rushed herself earlier. Now her hands hurt and she kept on saying no to her Daddies.

She knows that her Daddies are beginning to get suspicious about the basket. She must not give it to them. They might have a copy or have seen the book. If they see it with her, she feels like they would definitely take it.

"Hu'er…" Jiu Hu's voice is full of warning.

Hu'er acted pitifully. Her hands are hurting. She preserved so much. If she gave it to her Dada, he would definitely see it and all her work and pain will be for nothing.

Jiu Lin and Ke Rin were at Jiu Hu's back. They didn't speak all this time and just observed Hu'er. Jiu Lin couldn't help it and finally ask, "Can I do it instead?"

"I—," Looks at Jiu Lin, then hesitatingly looks at her Dada.

Jiu Hu sighed and nodded. "He will be your mate. If you don't want to let Daddy and Dada carry it. Let Jiu Lin carry it."

She looks at Jiu Lin and the basket. 'He already saw me holding such a thing back then. It will be fine to let him see it again, right?' Hu'er reluctantly nods, "Okay…"

Jiu Lin took the basket and saw how red her hand was. "Your hands are red…" he muttered.

"I'm fine. Don't touch my berries. Follow me." Hu'er skipped as she went into their home.

"Yes, I will." Jiu Li smiles.

"I'll get a balm for your hands Hu'er," Ke Rin declared.

"Okay. Thank you, Ke Rin." Hu'er looks back at Ke Rin and gives him a grin before going upstairs.

"Anything for Hu'er!" Ke Rin ran to the storehouse for the balm.

Jiu Hu and Chen Bin watched all this happening as they stayed outside.
